Cardinal Football Spring Game This Saturday 1PM

PRESS RELEASE FROM WWW.UOFLSPORTS.COM: Louisville, Ky. - - The 2012 University of Louisville Wendy's Wonderful Kids Red-White Spring Game will be held on Saturday, April 14 at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. Head coach Charlie Strong, who begins his third season, will pit the offense versus the defense in a regular-game situation. The first half will be timed as a regular game, while second-half timing rules will depend on depth. Sophomore quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will lead the first unit and score points for the Red Team, while senior quarterback Will Stein will be the White Team's quarterback. The Cardinals, who begin their final week of spring practice, have had a productive spring, as Louisville returns at least 18 total starters from last season's BIG EAST championship team. "We have had a good spring," said Strong. "It's been very competitive and the players have given great effort. I hope we can have a huge crowd on Saturday and really show off our team to our great fans." Admission is free and open to the public. The gates will open at noon and the parking lots will be open for tailgating at 8 a.m.

Sportscenter Praises Louisville's Defense and Pitino

This video is currently featured on ESPN. It highlights the win over MSU, then discusses Coach Pitino's performance with Dick Vitale lobbying for Pitino's selection into the Hall of Fame.

Don't Count UConn Out

Don't count UConn (5-6, 3-3 BIG EAST) out in tomorrow's game against Cincinnati (8-3, 4-2 BIG EAST). The teams may be more evenly matched than believed at the beginning of the season. Although...

6 UofL Games in Goodman's 50 "Can't Miss"

2. Louisville at Kentucky, Dec. 31 (noon ET on CBS) -- There's nothing like a New Year's Eve tilt between these two hated rivals. The fan bases despise one another -- and there's no shortage of disdain between the coaches, either. The fact that they only play once puts them in front of Duke-UNC. 8. Memphis at Louisville, Dec. 17 (4 p.m. ET on CBS) -- The former C-USA rivalry has been renewed and the timing is ideal -- as both programs have no shortage of talent. 11. Vanderbilt at Louisville, Dec. 2 (8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN) -- Vandy has everyone back and this is Kevin Stallings' best chance to contend for a Final Four. Rick Pitino's team has a blend of experience and talented young freshmen. 28. Louisville at Syracuse, March 3 (4 p.m. ET on CBS) -- The regular-season finale could hold championship implications. Peyton Siva and Scoop Jardine will be two of the league's top point guards. 34. Louisville at Pittsburgh, Jan. 21 (9 p.m. ET on ESPN) -- This is another one of those Big East can't-miss games. It's awfully tough to win on Jamie Dixon's homecourt. 40. Louisville at Butler, Nov. 19 (2 p.m. ET on ESPN3) -- We'll see how good Brad Stevens' team is right out of the gates when they face Pitino's Cardinals.

Osama's Death Brings Closure to CRP

""When we got the news last night, it's the first time in the last 10 years I did not have to take any melatonin, any Nyquil to go to sleep. I finally closed my eyes." -Rick Pitino ESPN Video

Pitino Meets with Kevin Ware in ATL

"We talked with Coach Pitino and it went well," said Ware’s stepfather, Wesley Junior. "He let Kevin know how he thought he could improve his game and what it would be like to play for Louisville, stuff like that. Coach Pitino think he has the potential be a really good player in college, and he’d like it to be at Louisville. Kevin really liked what he heard." Ware had said previously that Louisville was his frontunner, but both UGA and Central Florida have made major strides within the last week. South Carolina also may be jumping into the sweepstakes with a scholarship offer as early as Monday, while UCLA has expressed some interest.

Goldman Sachs Video on the KFC Yum! Center

Perhaps this is old news, but I still want to share this. Inside the cover of the latest Sports Illustrated is an ad by Goldman Sachs showing how they helped finance the construction of the KFC Yum! Center. The ad gives a website address which then links to a video about the construction and the effects of the arena. The video has some interviews with Arena Authority, and it talks up Louisville as much as it does Goldman Sachs, so I think it's worth a watch.

Blurb about Nunez from Rivals

"Angel Nunez, SF, Notre Dame Prep: The future Louisville Cardinal is easily one of the most, if not the most, difficult evals in the class of 2011. At 6-foot-7, he's got great size for a wing, moves pretty fluidly and shoots with range. However, he doesn't always make much of an impact on the glass and tends to fade in and out of games. Already a three-star prospect, Nunez has the tools to earn himself another star, but the willingness to compete has to be shown on a more regular basis."

Quincy and Deuce are going to Baylor. Confirmed.

We were told it was going to happen, and today it officially did. Both players also put it up on Twitter. I'm disappointed to say the least. ESPN article link ESPN Video Link of announcement
