Way Too Early Football Predictions
Just spent 5 minutes on Bleacher Report and in that time, we were predicted to play in the Orange Bowl next season, and Teddy Bridgewater was listed as Honorable Mention for Heisman Favorites for 2012. Granted Bleacher Report doesnt feature the greatest football reporters/writers in the country, its still nice to hear our team and players back in conversation. I think Teddy is a season or two away from possibly contending for a Heisman, but I do think we are ready to go to a BCS bowl next season. Should be good offseason filled with a lot of bold predictions for our squad. Lets see if Charlie and Teddy can handle the pressure when everyone expects you to win.
Recruiting Notes, Teague, Telfair and more
I just wanted to open a discussion to CardChron about why we are potentially losing recruits during Pitino's career.
I am currently reading "The Jump," the book about Sebastian Telfair's process of decision of jumping to NBA or going to Louisville for a year. Telfair repeatedly says throughout the book that he was offered many things by many people in the basketball world. He most notably speaks how college coaches made offers to him under the table to consider their school. He specifically says BIG EAST coaches offered him money under the table.
Now, he was asked if Rick Pitino offered him anything, or if anyone involved with Louisville promised him anything, under the table. His response is "No, Coach P doesnt do that."
So could it be that Rick Pitino does a phenomenal job of recruiting guys in the earlier stages and getting guys to commit, but we arent paying the money under the table that these kids are being offered by other schools. It could explain why we lose recruits late in the process, or lose recruits who have pledged commitments previously.
Or was Telfair just protecting a coach he maybe would have to play for?
I Finally Feel Something
Our fearless leader, Mike Rutherford, has stated " He feels nothing" towards our football program a few times over past year. I, along with other members of the Cardinal faithful, have felt this way for some time now.
Couldnt be happier about bringing a coach with championship experience (SEC, BCS) to the University of Louisville. I feel this is an outstanding hire for the Cardinals.
I feel something. I feel like this program has the right man at the helm and will bring this program, this city, and the Cardinal faithful to new heights.
Good luck Coach Strong.
Good Write-Up on Scott Long
Great piece on Scott Long. We need Long to score touchdowns like Kragthorpe brings in JUCOs. Quickly and often.

I still remember the 69 yd TD against USF. This kid can really help open the middle for Beaumont and Chichester. Hopefully keep safeties away from the line, and away from #20. And most of all, lets hope he can be a safety valve for a new QB whether its Burke, Froman, or Stoudt.

Lee Steiden: MIA
Did anyone else at the game or watching at home notice that Lee Steiden was not present? I looked down to the bench to see the kid who got into the South Florida game with the help of T-Will and the student section, and did not see Steiden.
Did he quit after missing his only shot by 5 feet or did he realize he probably would not get in any other games this season?
Where is the hometown hero from the South Florida game?
Word limit: Terrence Jennings is awesome. Terrence Jennings is a beast.
Cards land Froman, Two More
Not high on JUCO players, but Froman is receiving alot of acclaim. They are saying he is a legit contender in our QB race. He will enroll in January. Interested in seeing him in the Spring Game. He is quite mobile, runs a 4.6 forty. If he can get a good grasp on playbook, he could have chance to beat out Simms and Stoudt. However, he is still a JUCO transfer.

Resignation?
Is anyone else hearing the rumors that Steve Kragthorpe will resign if we lose Thursday night vs Rutgers? I have heard this from many people over the last week. I even had one person who said a "friend" of a booster told him that Kragthorpe is considering resigning.
I do not believe this for a second. First, Krag has the support of Jurich, who just by the way decides if he keeps his job or not. Also, why would he resign from a BCS school in the middle of a rebuilding era. This would not give him good creditability in attaining a collegiate head coaching job in the future. Krag has also been through, what we all hope, have been the two bad rebuilding years. He should have command of all players going into third year with many of Petrino's players gone, his system should be fine-tuned by now, and he goes into his third year with Jeff Brohm.
I cannot find a way to believe this, but let me know if any of you have heard any of this.
