Hey everyone...I'm working on a pitching mechanics-related project at Northeastern University in Boston. I'm mostly just trying to find out how to find information. For example, I'm trying to find the league-wide average number of days teams lose to pitchers on the DL with elbow injuries. I haven't really been able to find that information on B-Ref, unless I'm missing something, but I'm pretty sure that information exists.

Anybody have any ideas?

Remembering Nick...a question for HH

I know most of you guys probably felt like I did after hearing about Nick. I spent the whole day at work in tears and struggling to get work done, all the time fielding questions from friends as to why I really cared so much. After getting my patches in the mail a few days ago, I started thinking about what I really want to do to remember Nick.

I've donated money to his organization, I've bought the patches, and I've edited logos on my blog and here at HH. But I really want something a little more tactile, more physically substantial than the 34 sewn onto my hat. I tried buying an Adenhart shirt but was, obviously, declined by the MLB shop.

So I've been thinking...what do y'all think of buying the myriad Adenhart jerseys available on eBay? One of the guys selling them is the same guy I've purchased by Erstad and Lackey jerseys from, and while I was planning on a Hunter home white, maybe Nick's the best choice. My concern is giving money to people who are clearly going to be profiting from the tragedy of his death. Would it be better to hire an embroidery shop to do it?

What do you guys think?

For those of you who don't read Uniwatch, it's time to start. This article includes a redesign of several major league uniforms, including the Angels'. Our redesign uses USC colors, and while I detest U$C, I really like these unis. The road grays with the gold lettering look great.

"I was playing [Mora] so far over and [Garret] looked at me like, 'You gonna get it?' " Hunter said. "I'm like, 'No.' We were looking at each other, talking with our eyes. I was shading him over to right-center. Garret had jets up his [back]. I saw blue smoke coming out. It was pretty sweet."

From our fellow SBNation site Beyond the Box Score comes this little gem:

Who's Hacking, Who's Not

The biggest hacker on the list is, duh, Vlad Guerrero. Also up on the list are Brandon Wood (duh again) and Erick Aybar (broken record). You'll also see all-time Angel Darin Erstad on the list.

On the "Who's not swinging at crap" list, you'll find current A's Jack Cust, Frank Thomas, and Daric Barton. Also included is current Jay and former Athletic Marco Scutaro, whose last name is fun to say if you extend out the u to "oooooo."

We are, admittedly, in first place, but I'd like to see at least one of our players learn to stop hacking at crap. The first step is Vlad learning that his bat speed doesn't allow him to hit literally everything anymore, and he's helping out the team if he walks instead of striking out.

It is what it is, I s'pose. Interesting to look at, though.
