I'm going to the Canes game this Friday and am wondering if anyone has used rightturntickets.com or center stage seats. Seem like they are ok but I have a price that is a bit too good to be true (fourth row up behind vistors 30/per ticket.
This is my first game @ the Sunrise arena...has anyone eles been there? anything I should know?
Cant wait to see Skinner up close and personal. Super stoked!!!
Florida
Hey guys,
I've still been reading everyday just not active posting. ( i guess you call that lurking???). Anyway I just moved down to Fort Myers and am wondering where I can find information about the Hurricanes' events down here. I've been told that they hold some prospect camps or training camps of some sort down here, but cant find that information anywhere. I know the 'Blades play here but thats about all.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. If anything I know I should be within a 2 hour drive of 8 games or so.
Congrats on the Blog's Bday Bob. Cory and HMo2 keep up the great work.
Signing off from Sunny South Florida (that has a ring to it,lol)

another prospects article
someone mentioned this in a game thread (i think) so I figured it was burried to all those that are not compulsive about reading comments (also stolen from a game thread, lol)

I takes a glance at the major prospects in the southeast but looks to be very pro Hurricane with a very good shout out to Justin Peters in the articles intro.
It also looks like long time hurricane minor leaguer keith aucoin is doing very well in Washington. I hated to see him go, but he was leading scorer in our AHL system for years and never really got alot of attention form the big club, for the exception of his 13 point performance in 38 games a few years back. He is a career minor leaguer but has helped the Caps out when called apon. I don't ever remember hearing a bad word from this guy, he always seemed to be a true profesional. Hopefully his NHL dreams are realized even though he is no spring chicken.
Thank you to who ever posted this originally, I figured instead of it being buried i would post it so the less die-hard Canecountry fanatics could see for themselves.
True rental or lost forever???

"When you have two young centers like Staal and Sutter, what can you pay another center iceman to fit into your pay structure?" Rutherford asked. "It just becomes part of our business, and it’s not the fun part of our business. Come July 1 we’ll see who is out there and if Matt is out there I’ll always keep the door open. This parting is not a bitter one."
For all the Caniacs with Matt Cullen jerseys – and that number is large – keep them clean and close by.
Matt will always be one of my favorite Canes, though his time here wasn't all long. I'm also a Raider fan and I have always characterized certain Raiders players or coachs as "a True Raider". I think we all know what I mean by that. Matt to me was a True 'Cane. The Hurricanes since their move down here have become a team known to be more than the sum of thier parts. Matt Cullen was a guy that allowed this team to be that. A true team player that would do anything asked of him and do it well. His constant work on the PK unit shows that best I think. Always in the lanes and trying to create the odd man rush the other way. It was these feelings that started choking me up, I can only hope the final paragraph (above) is foreshadowning and not wishful thinking.
I wish Al had as much faith in his ablity to hire a coach as
he does in his drafting abilities. He refuses to admit that JR is a bust, or at least heading that way. He has a tendency to hang on too long to draft picks in which he probably went against conventional wisdom in taking. This all centers around one thing: PRIDE! Now wouldn't you think that he would see all these coaches he brings in and then ships out as failures in his ability to hire? I would. Each time he fires a guy he says to the rest of the world "I failed at hiring the right guy for the job". You would at least think that he would want to wait a little longer than a year before having to admit his short comings yet again. But no, same thing every year. You have to wonder where his logic is.
If Tom Cable gets fired I am done with this team...
...maybe not. I wish I could, but I can't. I said the same thing with Gruden (though he wasn't fired per se). I said the same thing about Kiffin. Cable has the fire in his belly that I liked about Kiffin. I like Cable more than Kiffin and I could see him being a guy I like as much as Gruden. We all know that Cable can't call the plays. Big deal, bring in an OC. He impressed me from training camp on. He ran a good camp. He demands respect. He ACTUALLY gets the respect that he demands. And the players love him. Most importantly the players play for him. No Raider team has played as hard for the duration of the season (Im not saying they couldn't play harder) since Bill Callahan took Chucky's team to the Superbowl. If you look at how the team has finished the last two seasons compared to the last season of Callahan,Turner,Shell and Kiffin I think you would agree. Cable has put some good things in place and this team needs to build off of that, not rebuild. Is there anyone here that would disagree we would have had a 500 record if we didn't start the year off with Russel? Cable did that. Cable had the balls to stand up to Al and bench JRock. Cable didn't let the chaos surrounding him visibly affect the team, which is saying quite a bit. There were no problems with personnel that I can remember like we have every single year. If any coach has deserved another year it is Tom Cable. He's not perfect by a long shot, but he is a Raider in my book. Me looks the part, he acts the part and I think he is the guy that can turn this ship around.
this is for the caniac in oakland ca.
We play the ducks on novemeber 25. I live in Sac. Road trip???

ESPN Radio 105.7 and 1490 NEW BERN live at RBC
We will be doing our local show ( The Drive with Mark Panichelli) from 4-6 at the RBC Center. We will catch the morning skate and have some guest on. If you would like to hear to the show and are out of the our coverage area (which I'm going to assume everyone is,lol. Then feel free to catch us on 1490espn.com or rfenc.com. It is something I am VERY excited about. As a long-time Canes fan, it has got to rank way up there on my list of Canes memories.
p.s. Sorry Bubba for the shameless plug, but I figure some might want to hear it. When we go off it should be right about the time "The Insiders" come on for the pre-game.
Take care everyone and hopefully Ill see you at the game Bubba.

does anyone know where i can find this???
bubba im sure you know why I need it. I think it would be a good piece as an intro to the show. I might just need to talk to Kyle.

Does any one remember??
I am a stat junkie and one of my favorite stat sheets used to be the shift charts. you could get them almost real time on NHL.com. It would just be like a bar graph and let you follow who was on the ice with who for the entire game. Does anyone rember these? anyone know where the went???
I wonder if these were cut out to save some money. im sure it was mind numbing work to put them together... you would have to pay me pretty good to keep up with it the entire game, lol
Could Cole be gone?
I just got done watching the habs game. He didnt look like he got hurt, but mid way through the third he just got up off the bench and left. Never saw anything wrong with him and it had been awhile since his line was on the ice. Maybe im reading too much into this, but he might be on a flight soon (boston???)
Ive seen it happen before. I love the deadline, but I should probably be like most everyone eles. Just wait and find out what will happen, instead of activly looking for it to happen.
Greatest Radio Call Ever???
I used to have this audio clip saved on my desktop. After searching for it for a while i finnaly got it back.
Check out the 150 mark, great memories indeed. I still get chill bumps.
I was watching the game on tv and listning to Chuck and the letter K on the radio. Man it was magic.
Needs
Well March 4th is rolling around pretty quick. I wanted to know what everyone thought we should do.
Trade for prospects? (sell)
Trade for top talent? (buy)
ifs so... Blueliners? Forwards? Back up goal tending?
I would like to see a top four d-man come our way. I do think we need a top 6 quality forward (though not to play on the top two lines). But I do think that the blue line is our biggest problem.
What are you guys thoughts?
BTW Im sure you have all heard the Erik Cole rumors.

To be fair, it was rough going for the software entrepreneur at the beginning of his tenure: He couldn't get his new arena in Raleigh built in time, forcing the 'Canes to play 90 minutes away to a half-empty hall in Greensboro. But things began to turn around for Karmanos in 2002, as Carolina made a surprise run to the Stanley Cup finals and then won it in '06. Since then, it has been a bit of a Cup hangover, but the fact that Paul Mauricewanted to return to the organization as coach says a lot about the environment. This year, the 'Canes were one of the hottest teams heading into the playoffs. And with a nucleus of Erik Cole,Eric Staal, Cam Ward and ageless captain Rod Brind'Amour, Karmanos has an enviably stable, competitive franchise.
