Redskin's Linemen According to ProFootballFocus
Recently, ProFootballFocus has used their unique statistics to give insight to the "pass blocking efficiency" of tackles and guards and centers. If you missed it, beloved rookie Trent Williams and oft-maligned vet Stephon Heyer showed up in the bottom 20 of the tackle rankings. Lets look at how the Redskins big uglies on the inside fared after the jump.
Redskins Roster Review by School
So I was thinking about the Redskin's roster this morning, and how it always makes for a good story when multiple players from the same college wind up on our team. I'm not sure if something like this is compiled elsewhere on the interwebs (I didn't bother searching) but I took a minute to go down the roster and organize the players by their schools. Their ages are in (parentheses).
California- Lorenzo Alexander (28), Nick Sundberg (23)
West Texas A&M- Anthony Armstrong (29)
Stanford- OJ Atogwe (29)
UCLA- Terrence Austin (22), Chris Horton (26), Logan Paulsen (24)
Kansas State- Brandon Banks (23), Rob Jackson (25),
Maryland- Kevin Barnes (24), Stephon Heyer (27),

Drafttek.com
So with the "HogsHaven Mock Draft" posts going up, I was inspired to do a little armchair GMing myself. I don't know whether you guys are familiar with it or not, but there is a great website (www.drafttek.com) that has a free online draft simulator. It is a black-box logic engine that uses the site's Big Board player rankings and team needs to simulate a 7-round mock draft. Suffice it to say--you could burn an entire working day playing around with this thing.
Dontay Moch Journal
Found this over at Mocking the Draft.
Dontay Moch is a DE/OLB from Nevada. He would be a good late 2nd to 3rd round pickup to play opposite of Orakpo (should we acquire any picks in that area.) Why, you ask? He has been clocked at 4.08, 4.18 and 4.23 in consecutive 40-yard dashes. Scouts made him run it a 3rd time because they didn't believe the 1st two times.
The Redskins Have a Top-10 Defense
While the Redskins rank near the bottom of the league in yards allowed per game, they are not simply laying down and allowing opposing offenses to have their way with them. For some reason, football fans and talking heads tend to rate defenses based only on how many yards they surrender each week. I propose that we examine another stat to explain this anomaly.
The Redskin's offense isn't reminding anyone of the 1999 Rams, and the defense ranks dead last in total yards per game; however, the Redskins find themselves at 3-2 and tied atop the standings in the NFC East. So what gives?
Lets look at a different list:

Saints to Complete Trifecta of Redskin's Cast-Offs
Apparently the Redskins are so popular that the Saint's are courting their 3rd Redskins Ex (qb) in as many years. First Brunell, then Chase Daniel, and now the incomparable Patrick Ramsey. Enjoy this one New Orleans, because he's been rode hard and hung up wet.
Samuels to Pass the Torch on Thursday

New QB and Offense Fitting In Already
A rare positive piece from NFC East blogger and resident ESPN Dallas homer Matt Moseley.
