What better way to kill 5 minutes than to look at yet another mock? I promise there's no mention of Targuy Ngombo.

Canis Hoopus Casper's Updated Mock - June 15th, 2010

The draft is 9 days, 5 hours, 50 minutes, and 31 seconds away (as of the time I submitted this FanPost at least), and I just got done sorting through reports, videos, and rumors coming out from the recent workouts.  With all that new information (and misinformation, which I tried to weed out using intuition) I put together my latest mock draft.

There was a lot of movement up and down in this mock, however my big board - when I get around to updating it at least - will be relatively unchanged besides removing the international players who have pulled out of the draft from its rankings.  Below the jump, you can see how things appear to be shaping up...

Canis Hoopus Casper's Big Board and Mock - June 2nd, 2010 edition

It's time again.

I've taken a mini-break from doing draft-related stuff because it's been gorgeous out, but with the draft approaching at a rapid pace I had to get back on the horse and do more work.  Things like the shooting drills, measurements and athletic testing, and even some of the big group workouts have already been performed.  Soon, word of the individual workouts will leak out and then the rumors of which team likes who will start coming out in droves.

That's why I've come to put together yet another Big Board and Mock Draft post - however, this time both have been juiced up on steroids and been expanded.  See how below the jump.

Canis Hoopus Casper's Mock Draft 5-18-2010

In a time of agony for Wolves fans, someone needs to come along and inject some joy back into their hearts.  I will try my hardest to be that someone.

No, you will not be seeing John Wall next to a Minnesota selection followed by yours truly gushing over his potential.  Nor will you be seeing analysis of how Evan Turner will fit seamlessly into the roster Minnesota has assembled and how he could work pretty well next to Rubio when he comes over to join the team.

No.  We're left with the harsh reality of what transpired tonight, and we have to keep moving forward with what our beloved club has to work with.  After the jump, I will offer you a way to deal with your pent up aggression without landing in prison or spending thousands of dollars on therapy sessions.

Canis Hoopus Timberwolves (and other teams') Woeful Lottery History

Very few of you may know that I wrote up an article two years back about how bad the Timberwolves luck has been in the lottery. I used the DX lottery history page to formulate all the odds for the #1 and #2 picks (the #2 pick odds had to be estimated for 1990-1993), and then went on to describe how unlucky the Timberwolves were.

Well today, I decided to do more than that. I have gone through and used that DX page to get the odds on every team for each season from 1990 to 2009, and then went through to describe how lucky or unlucky some of the teams have been.  More on this analysis after the jump.

Canis Hoopus Prospect Debate: PFs and Cs

Not much in the way of Timberwolves news, as evidenced by the shrinking number of stories in Sonia's updates.  The early entry list was released on Thursday, however, which allows us to refine our list of prospects and weed out such players like Jan Vesely, Elias Harris, John Henson, and Jeff Taylor who did not declare.

As such, figured I'd get some focused debating started on draft prospects, starting with the PFs and Cs which could be available at certain points in the draft.

May 3rd Edit: Added new poll, vote!

Poll
Taking likely draft position, current skill, and upside into consideration; who do you want the Timberwolves to draft out of these four?
Daniel Orton (avg position 18.50)

Larry Sanders (avg position 22.50)

Ekpe Udoh (avg position 10.50)

Hassan Whiteside (avg position 12.75)

Canis Hoopus Casper's 4-1-2010 Big Board and Mock Draft

It's time for yet another big board and mock draft update from your resident friendly ghost.

With the college season nearing an end, and people seemingly chomping at the bit for summer to come this is the time it gets interesting to see how things develop.  So sit back, relax, enjoy Darko mania for another two weeks, and get ready for all the mock drafts, off-season plans, rumors, and player development banter you can handle.

So the brackets just got released, and I see quite a few good match-ups to watch from a prospect standpoint...

Canis Hoopus Casper's 2010 Big Board and Mock Draft 3-08-2010

So, as I warned all of you in my first comments and fanpost on this site, I am a draft nut and as such most of my contributions to this board will be about prospects until the Timberwolves improve their product on the court.  With the Timberwolves following up a pretty awful loss which was agonizing to watch, there likely needs to be a bit of something to raise spirits, and the hope for the future is one of the main things to get my mind off watching Love play only 12 minutes, Flynn commit 8 TOs, or Sasha &%#$ing Pavlovic playing 21 minutes.

It follows then, that even though there were two featured topics posted recently about the draft, I'm not going to hesitate in posting my "work" for people to enjoy or discuss.  My extended big board (not a consensus like the last one I put up) and 1st round mock draft after the break.

Canis Hoopus Consensus Big Board for 2-6-2010

So, for those of you who don't know me from other boards.. my name is Casper and I'm a a huge draft nut.

I regularly update various files on my computer that have breakdowns, rankings, quality opponent production, and mocks for draft prospects.  I started following college basketball closely as a hobby in 2005-06 (once it seemed the Wolves were on a downturn), and it's grown into something very similar to an addiction that supplements my love of the NBA - to the point where I find myself discussing the draft far more than the Timberwolves play on the court.

Now that I'm done introducing myself, let's get to the meat of the reason for making my first FanPost - this week's consensus big board.
