Interesting Little Stat: Revis Leads In INT Return Yards

Interesting little stat. Revis currently leads the league in INT return yards with 184 yards. Gained in just 8 games this year, 184 yards would have been good enough to lead the league last year...

Brandon Moore apparently a team captain

6

It wasn't announced. I never noticed it on his jersey. But apparently Rex had the tag stitched on Moore's jersey even before Moore called out Holmes.

Projected Stats at the 1/2 Way Mark

5
  1. Sanchez - 57.5%, 3,550 Yds, 26 TDs, 14 INTs, 34 Sacks
  2. Greene - 264 Atts, 1,004 Yds, 3.8 Avg, 4 TDs
  3. Keller - 58 Recs, 872 Yds, 4 TDs
  4. Holmes - 50 Recs, 680 Yds, 8 TDs
  5. Burress - 46 Recs, 644 Yds, 10 TDs

Cotchery just got his first catch as a Steeler. Wow. That's hard to believe it took this long.

Surprising Stat

Burress doesn't seem to buy the excuse for trading Mason

6

"My production hasn't been all that great either. Santonio (Holmes') production hasn't been all that great either," Burress said. "You can't just point at one guy. You can't just say it was his production. He's a wide receiver so he goes out and controls what he can control. He can't do everything for himself."

Parcells calls Jets offense "a Ford"?!?!

16

"Before you can drive a Ford, you have to be able to drive a Cadillac. So if they get everything good around him, I think it will go well. Right now, I don't think he can take the team completely on his shoulders." I am not sure what that quote means but didn't we all learn to drive on a crappy car before getting a nice one?

The Jets started using buzzers during practice that sound off during passing plays after a set time, in an attempt to help QB Mark Sanchez get rid of the ball faster and increase the offense’s tempo. Ryan says it was something Bill Parcells used to do during his coaching career. "By the time practice was over, we’d already trimmed a second off each (play)," Ryan said. "The routes were great, full speed and I think added to our practice."

Jets Give Raiders A Rare Sellout Crowd

1

I didn't know the Raiders had so much trouble selling tickets; 14 of the last 15 home games have been TV blackouts. Perhaps the Jets are becoming a national team... or maybe there is still alot of love for their old USC QB.

Memory Lane: 2009 Jets beat Raiders 38-0

Just look at the box score in the link. It's hilarious. Both Jones and Greene had 100 yards rushing. Clowney was the leading receiver. Pace had 3 sacks. What a game. Hope the Jets can repeat the feat.

High School coach with some cool moves

This is a link to the Giants site FanShot that links to a good SI article about an unconventional HS football coach. The guy doesn't punt in any situation and always tries for the onside kick - always. Its awesome and a rewriting of the rules of football.

Is there a good site for the Giants cap numbers like this one for the Jets cap?

+

Just wondering if there is a good site that summarizes the NY Giants cap situation?

This is a FanShot. This is not a FanPost. It has very little point unlike great Fanposts like "Traid For Jetah". But I wanted to say, in the spirit of the Mets of late, isn't it typical that they have a 1PM game moved back to 8:30pm, on 9/11 no less, play a good game for a while, then go to extras and lose!!!!! All the fans that showed for the ceremonies and what not, especially those who stayed til the end, I feel leave in disapointment, and get home at 3am. Its probably really ESPNs fault for chosing to make the game "special" but I just feel the Mets should have protested if possible. I don't like the idea of trying to connect sports to 9/11. I understand and appreciate sports tries to be involved but unfortunately it fell short for the Mets IMO. We will always have Piazza's homerun on 9/21/01 or so. I don't mind saying I still get emotional watching the replay. My mind was taken away from the tragedy for a few hours. Piazza even got emotional talking about it tonight no doubt because of all the times schmucks like me told him how important that moment was. God Bless all and thank you Jets tonight and Piazza ten years ago for the distraction. And sorry if I am downplaying a very nice ceremony tonight. That was not my intention. Just wish the Mets won and feel bad for those who got home at 3am suffering a sports loss on a somber day. [Long FanShots are cathartic. Note to others, this is a FanShot]
