Niners Nation A look at Free Agency

I went thru and did my best to get us a list of the available free agents at all the positions. I did put some limits on it. I tried not to get "old" players nor did I get players that were listed as very low. I used Walter (I know, I know) to gather the list and ESPN for the ratings and ages. So if you see any I missed or if some of the ones I  have, have received contracts then please let me know and I'll adjust the list. Figured with the playoffs being out of the picture FA and the Draft is of the utmost priority.

After the break I'll have the list.

Niners Nation Official NFL Draft Thread (Take 4) 10/19/2010

Well here we are in the 6th week of the NFL and we won one but still it was the Raider so we might as well continue our search thru next year’s draft. After the break I’ll recap some things from the prior thread and list some of the players at positions I think we should be looking at.

Well here we are in the 5th week of the NFL and we are looking pretty bad so we might as well continue our search thru next year’s draft. After the break I’ll recap some things from the prior thread and list some of the players at positions I think we should be looking at.

Niners Nation Official NN Draft Thread

Fooch's Note: I changed the title to official NN Draft Thread. I figure there will be plenty of folks looking to discuss the draft so let's have a single FanPost for this discussion. Drew K will have plenty of draft discussion on the front page, but it's good to have a single separate thread for now.
____________

Hoping this can be an ongoing thread and hopefully looking upward as the year goes on. Looking at todays game it looks like QB goes back on the draft list again.

Some draft info and my  current outlook after the jump

Niners Nation Wild Stupid Thoughts

Ok I'm sitting here and thinking and listening to the radio and such and having some ideas run thru my head. Seattle has released Housh and Arizona has released Leinart. Are either of them of value to us? What are your thoughts as far as Leinart versus Carr? Yes Carr has been on the team but Leinart does know the division and while he's no Alex Smith, he might be better than Carr. And what about Housh? What do you think about a team with a WR corps of (VD), Crabs, Morgan Ginn, Williams, and Housh? I know NJ I put Ziggy off there but maybe we can keep him on. Then we have a DB corp with Clements, Spencer, Brown, Adams,Brock (maybe for PS), Goldson, Mays, Lewis, Smith, Taylor. Could we put Taylor and/or Brock on PS and bring in Alphonso Smith?

So let's picture a team with a QB Corps of Smith, Carr, Leinart, Davis. And a WR corps of Crabs, Morgan, Housh, Ginn, Williams, Ziggy. And a CB corps of Spencer, Clements, Alphonso, Brown, Adams, Brock.

To do this we have to get rid of (including putting on PS) DE D. Evans (release), Brock (PS) and Taylor (PS).

Based on that what kind of team would that leave us with? How stupid is that?

And more importantly what players that others have let go could be of value to us?

Hope this was actually worth a post. LOL

Just found this interesting. Not saying we should get him but it is kinda interesting on a few levels.

Don Coryell dies at age 85

Can't find a link for this but Don Coryell died at age 85. He was former head coach of the Chargers and the inventor of the Air Coryell offense.

Niners Nation Looking at next year cuz I'm bored LOL

Ok this is majorly because I’m bored and it’s the Off season doldrums. So I thought I’d toss this out there as far as a look at possible pick ups for the 9ers for next year's draft.

I know this is way too early but hey what the heck and it’ll be a big WIP (Work In Progress). I see the 9ers looking realistically (ok with perhaps a bit of trying on of those rose colored glasses) as being able to make the SB in say 2013 to 2014. And to keep my sometimes bored brain busy I like to work out how we could get there. So anyway here goes. Let me put up the premises I’m going off of as far as probable needs on the team.

Mocking The Draft Calling it now, 49ers 2011 draft :-)

Thought I'd toss this out as much being that I'm bored with the offseason. I hope to hear feedback from fellow draftniks as well as fellow 49er fans. The feedback can be agreeing or disagreeing. So long as it's tactful, it's all good.

"Plus, he has a muscle going down from his neck to his leg that bothers him. That's my reservation on Best. He's coming in all beat up."

And if a guy is emerging from the college game "all beat up," there's a chance he won't last too long when he's getting beat up by grown men.
