Alex Brown for Seahawks Guard Sims Rumor is Hot!
According to PFT, there is talk that we could get guard Rob Sims from Seattle in exchange for Alex Brown. Sims is a RFA, and no longer fits in the Seahawks offense now that they are implementing a zone blocking scheme. He could fit well in a Martz offense, however, as he is known for pass blocking and for taking up lots of space on the line. Here's a link to an article about him I found over at FieldGulls, the SB Nation Seahawks blog : HERE.
Get out your brackets, MWC fans!
This is a great time of the year, when everyone in the office has filled out at least one bracket. If you are like me, you are in multiple pools. The bracket itself can get a little boring sometimes, so a buddy of mine introduced me to a variation of the bracket. I'll tell you all about it after the jump. Also, I want to know if anyone else plays a fun variation for March Madness. Share!
MWC Tourney Picks
Hey everyone,
I wanted to get a feel for what you all see for the MWC teams in the tournament. Mine has a fair amount of MWC bias going on here. Here are my picks:
Is Cutler a Difference Maker?- Comparison to QB Greats
Myself, SackMan, and T.Moore got into what I thought was a great debate on Cutler. Unfortunately its buried on an old game thread, so I thought I'd summarize and continue it in a fresh FanPost so everyone else can comment also.
Almost everyone on WCG has lost faith in some aspect of the coaching staff and agrees that our offensive line could use some upgrading. But some on the site feel that Cutler was NOT as good as advertised, and is not a franchise QB, the difference maker we all hoped he would be. He doens't make the right decisions on the field, and the 'miscommunication' problem between himself and the receivers falls squarely on his shoulders. He is not a competent leader of this football team. He has never been on a winning team in college or in the pros, and is therefore a loser. He is no Peyton Manning or Brett Favre, and never will be.

Here's a boost to the weary Bear's Nation...(media link)
In case you missed it on the NFL network, check out this video on the 85 bears by nfl films. Great interviews, great footage of the games, brings a tear to your eye and makes you want to round up your buddies and march with pitchforks and torches down to Halas Hall and demand change.

Cutler Least of Our Worries
OK, I get it. Jay Cutler is the most exciting and intriguing part of our team. We've invested our future (draft picks) and a good chunk of money (salary cap) on this rocket-armed and talented young QB. We want to poke, prod, speculate, condemn, defend, and know about him. For the foreseeable future, however goes Cutler, so goes the Bears, and so goes the joy or despair of an entire nation of Grabowskis. We are worried that he is being coached wrong, fearful that he may turnout to be another Jeff George instead of Brett Fav-ruh.
But if we've learned anything the past few weeks, it's that ours is a deeply flawed team, and that in many ways, the least of our worries is Jay Cutler. Of ALL positions on our team, QB is the one I am worried least about (with the possible exception of WLB). It's the one good move in the past few years for JA. My biggest fear when it comes to Jay is that we are wasting his talent or may get him seriously hurt. In the QB department, we're OK. We're good. In my humble opinion, what we need to figure out is what we are going to do about many other pressing problem areas on our team. For example:
