What about Rudy Fernandez?
Now, I know that the Bulls have all but signed Rip Hamilton. While I support the move, it can't hurt to have a young, very talented replacement for the very old Rip. Which is why this quote from Woj's story on Billups so interesting:
The Dallas Mavericks have been making calls to seek interest in unloading the contracts for Rudy Fernandez and Corey Brewer, league sources said.
Celtics Looking To Trade Rondo
Oh jeez, if the Celtics somehow manage to replace Rondo with CP3...
Saints Release Stinchcomb
Do the Bears go after him? He may not be in Pro Bowl form, but he's almost guaranteed to be better than the pile of crap we currently call the O-line
Can you say Coach of the Year?
"Tom Thibodeau has been an NBA head coach for 62 games. When you consider guys like Lenny Wilkens and Don Nelson stalked the sidelines for more than 2,000 games each, 62 seems like a very small number. But it's a number. And right now? Of 294 men to have ever been NBA head coaches, Tom Thibodeau of the Chicago Bulls has the highest winning percentage."
An out of the box view on Rose's MVP candidacy
So, I was reading this article, and it brings up an interesting thought:
There is no award for Offensive Player of the Year. There is an honor for the other half of the court, Defensive Player of the Year. But no one ever has felt compelled to balance things—and to clear up the annual confusion among MVP voters—by establishing a trophy to be handed to the league’s most dominant or impactful performer at the end of the floor that lights up scoreboards.
What happens, then, is that the MVP becomes the repository for such scoring stars—or assists stars, or leaders in whatever other statistical measure fascinates a given voter. Meanwhile, others choose to wrestle with the concept of a player’s “value” relative both to his team and within the league.
Danny Granger: One source with knowledge of Indiana's thinking, however, said this week that the Pacers -- 6-11 and fading since their big November wins over the Heat and Lakers -- have not dismissed every recent proposal that includes Granger. Another source insisted to ESPN.com that the Pacers, although they naturally would be seeking a lot in return, quietly listened to a few Granger pitches last season, as well.
Some new trade possibilities? (Yes, even more)
Here are some interesting names I haven't heard a lot of in trade talks. Barbosa would fit very well as an offensive sparkplug/ballhandler. Also, a lot of us were clammering for James Anderson in the draft, and perhaps San Antonio would be willing to let him go for the bulls 1st?
Woj: Carmelo To Be Traded
It seems like it is definite that the Nuggets are going to trade Anthony. But, it seems the Bulls have never been in consideration. Still, this is big NBA news, especially if he lands in the East
