I'm a 46-year-old who has followed the Royals from their very beginning in 1969. I can still remember Buddy Blattner calling play-by-play with a young sidekick named Denny Matthews, sponsored by Hamm's beer and Guy's potato chips. I've lived in Kansas City for the last 22 years, but I don't claim responsibility for the Royals' ineptitude since moving to KC in '87.
