Just saw (what I think is) the newest of the Beyond Baseball commercials. I had seen the one with the Unbelievable Upton bros, the Pujols one, etc, and now there's a Braves one. It pretty much focuses on Bobby Cox, but there are some player shots in there as well. Most notably Lowe and Heyward.

I wanted to let everyone know to keep an eye out for it. Because if the Phils win 3 straight, the Braves ad will probably be pulled for an already made Phillies one, featuring Utley/Howard/Rollins/JoeMorgan. If it's been out for over a month or something, I apologize. I just saw it today, and I don't watch a whole lot of commercials. It's how I stay sane.

 

Let's do it One More Time for Bob and Chip.... The first of many more times.

Come on Bobby; if Chipper's got one more, you've got one more. Make it an even 30. Bring on Freddi in some capacity and let him take over in 2012.

It's just amazing to me that after his best efforts of screwing the Braves over in multiple games, Hohn takes it to the next level with the infamous fist bump; and it takes two to fist bump (which can generally be interpreted as, "Good job," or "That's how you screw the Braves.") That, in itself, should warrant some kind of penalty. To the Braves credit, they did not let Hohn's overall sketchiness affect their mindset for the rest of the season, and are totally pwning it right now. ~ I was just expecting to hear about some kind of suspension. He definitely crossed the line. But I guess the only way he would get suspended is if he wore a sign during a game that said, "Fuck the Braves." Even then.....he would probably get away with it. What a sketch artist. It's guys like him that give umpires a bad name.

I can't even remember if he's been ejected so far this season. Don't think so. Talking MAD shit though, even on-air. ("Oh sure, and you know....Oh shit!!!") haha. I really do love the guy, even if I don't agree with him 100% of the time. They all love playing for him, but I'm surprised Bobby hasn't been in the man's face one or two times this year. Especially the "botched call at 3rd" incident. (this is an instance where an instant replay should have been called. bullshit really. I don't care what anybody says. Bullshit. If I was a manager, somebody probly would have been "dealt with" by now. "lol"

But, staying on the sunny side (although I'm seeing endless rain here in Carolina), let's make this season for Bobby. Why not? Fuck, we got slammed on his birthday. Hopefully this is the team's mentality, along with "winning one for Omar." We're starting to play like it. Hell, we're occasionally getting offense with some damned good pitching, and are poised to fuck the Mutts and Thillies in the ass. They have seen the magic, and they are frightened. We're looking great (even with a few key guys out), and have mad reinforcements returning/incoming.....

~ Mucho gusta.

 

What can I say that you don't already know? Mac returns with a vengeance and I'm very excited. Sure, it's great to know we have some superb back-up catchers in the wings; but this guy is the real deal and makes it look too easy. Love watching him catch and love watching him hit. The man is a machine. Not only would a 'W' today be.....what's the word....."huge," but 2 wins in a row and we're playing .500 ball. The Thillies are probably about to shit a brick. Hopefully he can keep Ken in the zone. If anybody can do it, Mac can.

He's got flare, but you can tell he: genuinely cares about the team, is working on his plate discipline, and always tries to play good baseball. I would take him over just about any shortstop in the game. And he's started out about the same as he did last year. Tons of groundouts, and then he'll start getting hot and taking some shots (he was thiiiiis close to a homer a day or two ago).

 

The New Hair ~ Lol, the first time I saw the do, I remember he took his batting helmet off after getting kind of dusty (somehow) at first. I thought it was dust on top of his head!!! haha. Swear to God. Then I noticed after a while, "Hey....it's still there...........Sweet!!"

 

Yunel vs The Reds ~ That point to the catcher and then to the mound was brilliant. Everybody on both teams new it, and immediately came to see what was up. Good times.

 

The bat spin ~ I love watching him spin the bat when he's coming up to the plate. He knows all kinds of tricks with balls and bats, and I wish we could get some more shots of Yunel being Yunel. Maybe a camera guy posts here or something. And the bat flop never gets old, though. Look out, ump!

 

Anyways, I love watching the guy play, and don't take it for granted that he's playing for my favorite team. Let's see YUNEL'S CARTEL back at Turner!!!!!!!!

I mean, "the guy played in the WBC" etc., but he's solid at lead-off as well. Shouldn't Schafer be on the DL with that wrist? And even then, kid has a shitload of crap to work on.

 

Personally, I love Blanco. The guy can play, hits, and draws a ton of walks, and I would rather have him come up with 2 on, 2 outs, as opposed to Jordan Schafer. Plus, it's ridiculous that he was overshadowed because of the WBC? Have these old fucks managing this popcicle stand finally kicked the bucket? You tell me, folks.

 

But yeah, that's just me. On with the losing.

 

Am I being a negative nancy? Sure. But I guarantee a .500 record if I was managing the Braves right now. GUARANTEED, holmes. Our manager has made some sloppy/bad choices so far this run, and I like the guy. But I'm also calling him out for bullshit.

5 years......of ridiculous meandering, about anything other than the Braves in particular, and usually trashing the Braves when the team is mentioned.

 

5 YEARS........of watching a couple of assholes WHO RARELY EVEN PLUG THE BRAVES GAME FOLLOWING THEIR PROGRAM, and have each sold out to what they perceive as "better teams."

 

5 YEARS........of complete bullshit. I really do hate all of those assholes, and their stupid, lame ass commercials. If somebody was to come up to me on the street and say, "5.....Years...." they would get decked. Let's get a decent show with a couple of real Braves fans talking about the Braves. The chick can stay though. She can look sexy at times.

Hopefully not. I was thinking the Braves were going to take 2/3 games in the Marlins series. I was horribly wrong. The soon to be Miami Marlins are playing like the Braves were playing in spring training. Hopefully we can steal a game the next time we play them. We're good, we're just making ignorant choices when we leave wash-ups like Blaine Boyer hanging around/screwing up for way too long. All that shit adds up, that's all I'm saying. How the fuck is this happening. We need to snap out of this bullshit. And now I'm worried about McCann's eye fucking with him.

 

If we lose this next game against the Pirates tomorrow, we are officially in a funk. Fuck. For God's sake, let's take 2/3 and do what we should have done a week ago. We're still in 2nd goddamnit.

My post wasn't 75 words long so hopefully this will make the post 75 words long because I can't post unless there are 75 words. So it's a rainy Friday at work and I'm trying to come up with a few extra words just so I can post this. There we go. lol

I'm talking specifically about the alternate/road uniform. The navy blue. Easily the coolest uniforms in baseball. I'm all for the traditional blue and red caps, but the all-blue cap is beyond pimp. Loves it. Thank God we don't have colors like the Pirates or the Giants. And I love the grey uni's as well. A classic never gets old.

Just another reason why the Braves are America's team, and the best in all of baseball. Here's to a great season, and to keeping it stylin' as well.
