3. Kansas City Chiefs (via predicted trade with Minnesota Vikings): Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M

Whaddya say, let’s have a little fun. Matt Cassel is a fine enough middle-of-the-road starting quarterback, but he’s not leading the Chiefs to the Super Bowl anytime soon. There also doesn’t seem to be an overwhelming amount of confidence in him from the head coach and front office. Tannehill is not close to a finished product, but he has unlimited potential. Unlike his doubters — and there are many — I think he could end up being a tremendous NFL quarterback. The more I watch him on tape, the more I love what he can bring to an offense. He’s mobile and smart and has the size and arm for the NFL. Using the ol’ trade value chart, the No. 3 overall pick would cost Kansas City its first (11th overall), third (66th overall) and fourth (98th overall) selections. To get a franchise QB? If I’m Scott Pioli, I’m asking, "Where do I sign?"

"Kansas City’s Clark Hunt talked a good game when it came to Manning, but that’s all it was. Now, the Chiefs could end up as an afterthought in the division, given the quarterbacks in San Diego, Oakland and now Denver."

So if McDaniels comes to KC, does that mean Lloyd comes with? Do we then tag and trade Bowe??

A league source told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora that St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator and ex-Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels will garner strong consideration for Chiefs job.

Not Chiefs related, but if you didn't see this last night, you need to check it out. Pretty damn funny, imo. Make sure you watch both videos.

Anybody else a little embarrased by this being the way the Chiefs get national attention?

Head coach Todd Haley did say after practice that WR Jonathan Baldwin is officially out of Sunday’s game against the Bills. Baldwin continues to be a non-participant in practiced due to his broken right thumb.

Forecast: Quarterback Matt Cassel has more talent around him and Todd Haley is better prepared to handle head-coaching responsibilities after a bumpy first season. The Chiefs are my darkhorse contender for a wild-card berth.

Hey Gil, can E. Berry make the Chiefs defense respectable this year?

Gil Brandt, NFL.com
Kyle, he will help make it respectable. Simply because whether it's him at safety or a nickel corner, I think he's a tremendous football player. I actually signed his father as an undrafted rookie free agent!

I think Berry could actually be a full-time corner. Another big help will be new defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel. I think the Chiefs could be a surprise team, and here's why: They only have four opponents who were playoff teams last year, open at home, and then close out with two home games.

Free Agency Report
Various league sources believe Minnesota Vikings RB Chester Taylor will ultimately be signing with another team shortly after free agency starts.

Why?

Sources said at least 10 teams will be looking for a veteran back to handle 8-10 carries or touches/game. And don't count out a few teams looking for a starter for the short-term to show interest in the veteran back.

Hey Jason, what are your thoughts on the Chiefs signing C. Weis and R. Crennel?

Jason La Canfora, NFL Network
I like it a lot. Both these guys are probably miss cast as head coaches, but in these roles they are great hires. It allows Haley to take a step back, takes some things off his plate and greatly upgrades that staff in my estimation. Getting Weis to mentor Cassell is huge. Still far from sold on the kid but this should help for sure.
