Kansas City Chiefs & Drew Brees (Unrelated Draft Wishful Thinking)
With the latest news on the New Orleans Saints, quarterback Drew Brees has to be more than disappointed and perhaps wanting out of the Saints organization all together. It is rumored that his agent, Tom Condon is "baffled" by how slowly long-term contract negotiations have been going with the Saints. The Saints slapped Brees with the franchise tag which concerned many fans, NFL analysts, and teammates. The contract not being extended will grow into a bigger and bigger distraction as the weeks pass by, and Drew Brees cannot be happy. He has been the best quarterback the last couple years by the numbers, he is a leader to his teammates, and a hero to his community yet the Saints organization cannot open the vault to the focal point of their entire team. In the process, the New Orlean Saints has lost a number of key free agents that put their team in contention, and besides that the organization has been distroyed by the 'Bounty Gate' scandal. Now another 'Spy Gate' scandal, which is embarassing to a quarterback who plays his heart out for the game he loves, a game his team is being labeled as 'cheaters', 'dirty', and 'disrespectful'. So the question is could Drew Brees be lured away from the city that he loves and the fans that adore him more than their own families?
"If You're Not First, You're Last!!!" = Are we headed to the NFL basement?
Here we go, Kansas City Chiefs fans. Matt Cassel is out temporarily until further testing, but it doesn't look good. Tyler Palkois now are starting quarterback, which makes the next 5-weeks an even more depressing time for our franchise. I know this kid will play with his heart on his sleeve, but some of you cannot pronounce or spell his name, at least not yet. Tyler Palko will face the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football (11/21/2011) and then the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football (11/27/2011). Can this kid prove something to us about being an overlooked under dog or will he lead us to a TOP 5 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft?
Looking Back & Moving Forward...Where do we go from here??? Chiefs NEEDS...
This season has been a roller coaster ride from hell. Before the season got under way we lost Tony Moeaki a reliable set of hands for Matt Cassel. We started the season off with two of the worst losses in NFL history, by getting blown out 89 to 10 and losing Eric Berry and Jamaal Charles for the season. We battled San Diego in Week 3, but a late interception gave us our third straight loss. Then we put together a 4-game winning streak by beating the Minnesota Vikings, Indianapolis Colts, Oakland Raiders, and the San Diego Chargers. Only the win over the Raiders was in convincing fashion. However, the four game streatch allowed optimistism to re-enterthe beating hearts of every Chiefs fan from coast to coast, but that optimism was soon lost and we quickly bleed out as we were embarassedby the Miami Dolphins and the Denver Broncos at home, at Arrowhead Stadium. Now we are in serious shock witha weak, thready pulse about to face certain death as we go up against the New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Bears, New York Jets, & the Green Bay Packers. We have questions but very few answers, and the biggest question is "Where do we go from here?".
The Mile High Messiah & 'Teebowing' (Tuesday Humor)
As the self-proclaimed BIGGEST Chiefs fan living in Denver, I have had front row seats for some of the best Donkey Drama in the last few years. I have witnessed many Donkey happenings: Brandon Marshall's multiple Larry Johnson impressions, Jay Cutler being remburesed for his country club membership because he refused to turn his hat around, Jay Cutler's departure, the whole Josh "Mr. Potatoe Head" McDaniels' failed experiment, and the rise and fall of Tim "The Tool" Teebow. People here in Denver have praised him, chanted his name, and have even erected billboards to demand him to start. Broncos' fans have found a personal attachment to Teebow, and all the while I think John Fox and the Denver Broncos organization are setting him up for failure.
Don't get me wrong, I think the kid is an incredible athlete, community activist, and human being, but I also think he has been a product of the 'Hype Machine'. Broncos fans and even many NFL analyists have placed lofty expectations on this young man and given him the reigns of a horrible team.
No, I don't feel sorry for Mr. Teebow and I could never pretend to like the Broncos even if I lived here in Denver for another 3,000-years. I only appreciate the Broncos for the rivalry; I love to hate them (and the Oakland Raiders as well as the San Diego Chargers of course). After the jump I will touch on the newest but oldest craze, 'Teebowing'
Hali, Houston, & the Hurts Donut (The Black Donut Hole Edition)
This week our Chiefs roll into the Black Donut Hole to hopefully deliver a message to Carson Palmer & the Oakland Raiders, and that message must be, "Hurts Donut!!!" O'yeah, spell it however you wish but the message should be heard the same around the league. This game will heavily rely on the effectiveness of our defense to again stop the run and apply pressure to whoever is under center - Palmer, Boller, or Pryor. I know we have questionable holes in our defense, especially our secondary. However, our defense is starting to put it together and thanks to the bye week the extra couple of days to prepare for the Raiders will allow us to be more effective in limiting Oakland's chances. After the jump I will quickly discuss how the "Hurts Donut" must be delivered in the Black Donut Hole.
My Post-Game, WTF Over-Reactionary Reaction...(Week 1 Review: Comic Relief Where There Is None)
Alright already, the season isn't lost but the first game was. So now we must hope that our Chiefs can learn from their large number of mistakes and Haley can rally the troops. We know he believes in them, and I know we believe in them too, but it is well documented now that yesterday was a complete and total embarassment. Our worst home loss in over 30-years.
Now without further ado, I present Week 1's WTF Over-Reactionary Reaction. (Disclaimer: This is comic relief where there is none).
2011 Rookie Draft Class: The Nickname Game
Every year the draft brings in new and exciting players, and Arrowhead Pride goes crazy with player analysis and polls, and throughout the chaos nicknames are born. However, this year is alittle different because the NFL Lockout took center stage of most conversations, which were mostly making your closest buddy the complaint department. Now that the doom and gloom is behind us and we are a week away from the NFL Preseason, we can continue to build our excitement for our team, our organization, and our newest Kansas City Chiefs! Lets play the nickname game for our 2011 Rookie Draft Class. I am excited to hear your newest, most creative nicknames for these new men who will go to battle as a Kansas City Chief.
Free Agency: A Game of Either Or
The tight lipped organization of Scott Pioli & Co. have added new looks and new weapons to our soon to be "competitive" team, but there are still a few free agents that would look great wearing a Kansas City Chiefs jersey this coming season. Of all the remaining free agents remaining, who would you want and why? Plead your case. If you could only go one free agent, would you rather go offense or defense and what position? I want to know everyone's take on this...
This should be interesting since Aubrayo Franklein-Stein is off the board now and wearing a Saints jersey, and Randy Moss has hung up the cleats...There are still plenty of free agents available, but a few that Chiefs Fans have begged for didn't fit the system for some reason or another. Dare I mention the phrase "Right 53", which I feel should be retired also.
So who would you add to the Kansas City Chiefs and why???
What will Harold Camping do tomorrow???
Harold Camping is the outspoken gentleman who warned us the world will end today (May 20, 2011). First off, let me mention that this guy didn't realize that our world has been somewhat crushed since March 3rd when the NFL CBA expired. Without free agency and upcoming OTAs, a lot of us have little to live for. While I am only joking about the NFL being all we got, I don't think the NFL realizes just how important the NFL make Sundays, Mondays, and the occasional Thursday. However, this Harold Camping just might be wrong and when the NFL owners and players wake up tomorrow morning maybe, just maybe they will be ready to find middle ground and get a deal done. What will you do in preparation for the end of the world? What will you wear to meet your maker? Will your preparation be any different from the Y2K scare?
Drafting Baldwin - Another Sign That Former Pitt Star Larry Fitzgerald WILL Be A Kansas City Chief
Imagine for one minute that the Kansas City Chiefs break huddle and line up in a 4-receiver set with Dwayne Bowe and Jonathan Baldwin lined up on the left and Dexter McCluster and Larry Fitzgerald lined up on the right side and Matt Cassel is in shotgun formation with Jamaal Charles just to his right side...
Now tell me this didn't raise your heart rate and excitement level. How could a defense possibly defend that formation? The defense cannot double team any receiver and a blitz will leave someone and possibly Charles open as he slips a linebacker. This formation is what Todd Haley & Scott Pioli dream about nightly.
Jonathan Baldwin, Dwayne Bowe, and Todd Haley have strong ties with former Pitt Star Larry Fitzgerald, who is playing in his final year of his contract. Kansas City has the resources to sign big money guys (Larry Fitzgerald - WR - Arizona & Aubrayo Franklin - NT - San Francisco to be specific), and even though it goes against Pioli's history overall - you have to remember a guy named Randy Moss brought to the New England Patriots.
I am not the only person alive who thinks the drafting of Jonathan Baldwin is another sign that Larry Fitzgerald will be a Kansas City Chief in the near future...
So am I drunk off Kool-Aid, crazy, or does your thoughts resemble mine?

The 80-Day Countdown to the NFL Draft: Day #1
The Green Bay Packers were crowned Super Bowl 45 Champions just lastnight, and I find myself in NFL withdrawl already. The Kansas City Chiefs made big steps this year to becoming legitimate super bowl contenders, but what lies before us in getting to that next level. First is seeing (I hope) the new Collective Bargaining Agreement signed, which would kickoff the start of free agency on March 3rd, 2011. The list of free agents who would make respectful additions to the Kansas City Chiefs appears to be abundant, but will we bring in any experienced players as additions to our team. Next is the 2011 NFL Draft, and yes it is a distant 80-days away, but there could be alot of movement before hand if the CBA get signed sooner rather than later.
More Larry Fitzgerald Trade Talk (My fantasy trade offer)
I know you guys think this is beating a dead horse, but the option and possibilities are still there...Arizona has a ton of positions they need to address through the draft and upcoming free agency, so I think the Chiefs can capitalize on their need. After the jump, I will present my trade proposal.
What would you give for Larry Fitzgerald? (Organizational View)
Larry Fitzgerald This is SportsCenter (via ESPN)
Is there anything more dominating than a wide receiver combo like Dwayne Bowe & Larry Fizgerald? Well only when you add our rushing threat and a healthy Dexter McCluster in the slot. Any legitamite wide receiver will take the Kansas City's offense to another level, but what if we target a Pro Bowl receiver named:
Larry Darnell Fitzgerald, Jr.? Our organization has the power and the resources to make this deal happen, but will they?
Get Up and Get Noisy!!! Bleed Chiefs' Red!!!!
People feel we are to young and inexperienced, BUT we Chiefs fans should think the Ravens aren't ready to handle the unbelievable thunder cast down by a Sea of Red and the amazing power of the ARROWHEAD ADVANTAGE! Our boys are playing for us tomorrow so each and every one of us has to bring the noise!!! Go loud or stay at home. Go Chiefs!!!!!!!!!!
Get Jacked Up for the Playoffs: A Video Collection (Forget About Weis & the Raiders)
Believe it or not, but the 2010 NFL Regular Season is in the bag, and while it may seem that we were just preparing for a Monday Night game against the San Diego Chargers - it is now time for the playoffs. Our very own Kansas City Chiefs blew away many predictions with their 10 & 6 record, and while it was such a great journey, it still could've been better. Our record doesn't matter any longer, it doesn't matter that we played "a soft schedule", or that we executed well with a "high school quarterback", in fact, it doesn't even matter that Pete Prisco said the Chargers would run away with the AFC-West. What matters now is that we are AFC-West Champions and we are in the playoffs. We have given ourselves the chance to earn the respect of the National FootBall League, the respect that is overdue. As our Kansas City Chiefs eliminate each opponent from the playoffs our respect will grow. There is no analysist that can withhold respect for our Kansas City Chiefs if we handle our business and take out the Jets, Steelers, Colts, Ravens, Patriots, or whoever else stands in our way. Sure it will be tough to get to the Super Bowl and beyond because we are a young team, but it is this journey that will better our football team, earn the respect of the league, and prove to everyone that the Kansas City Chiefs are contenders once again.
CHIEFS WILL
After the jump, I have gathered a collection of videos to get you jacked up for the playoffs. Everyone needs to be exacted and a loud member of the Sea of Red. Our team needs us, and we all know that we need our Kansas City Chiefs! So get excited, get ready because the CHIEFS WILL!!!
Dwayne Bowe's TD Receiving Numbers: Chasing History
We all know that Dwayne Bowe's number as of late have been staggering: 14 Touchdowns, 58 Receptions, 885 Yards, and 0 Fumbles in 11-games played this year. Is Dwayne Bowe a legitimate threat to the TD Receiving History? More after the jump.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Donkeys (The Mile High Edition), Are you coming to Denver?
Alright AP fans hopefully you all know now that I (ChiefsatWar) happen to live in Donkey-Country which has been an absolute delight this past year and this week we take on the freakin' Donkeys. Well what you might not know is fans have been leaping of the bandwagon here in 'D-town'. Even the radio shows around town are riding the Donkeys hard and rumors are starting to fly that Pat Bowlen (the owner of the Donks) has Alzheimer's disease and that there is dislike from all corners of the locker room. After the jump I will high light an incredible video and rant alittle about this week's game...

First Play From Scrimage vs. Indianapolis Colts
Now that we are almost 72-hours from kickoff and with various statistics being thrown around about the Indianapolis Colts and our Kansas City Chiefs, one must wonder what Charlie Weis and Todd Haley are brewing up for our first offensive snap. The Indianapolis Colts have the 29th ranked rushing defense and the 15th ranked pass defense. The Colts are experiencing depth problems at their safety position and it looks like former Chief, D. Morgan will start at Safety. Our very own Kansas City Chiefs are in top 5 for nearly all ranking systems with our rushing and we rank 15th with a 4.978 (ANPY/A) adjust net passing yards per attempt...The first snap could very well set the tone for the entire game if executed properly. On one hand, we could run the ball and if done effectively rush for more than 5-yards on our first carry, which would bring doubt and frustration back into the minds of Indianapolis Colts defenders. Or we could take a bigger risk and try to shock the Colts with a pass play to put their defense on their heals and make a statement that we are not going to be one dimensional in our approach. What will Todd Haley and Charlie Weis do with our first play from scrimage?
Exactly why we will beat the Indianapolis Colts
Taking a look into the number there is a common theme to beating the Indianapolis Colts, and after the jump I will bring light on how our Kansas City Chiefs will accomplish the task of beating one of the premeir teams in the NFL, the Indianapolis Colts.
A little disappointment...(found on Niners Nation)
I am alittle disappointed in two things and I don't know why they are bothering me so much, but they are...I am sure most of use have went onto Niners Nation to see what they are saying, and here is where I find my disappointment.

Pete Prisco is WRONG!
Given this article is a couple days old, let us examine how Pete Prisco is Wrong about the San Diego Chargers...
The 'FOR SURE' List of 2010
With the season officially starting soon there will definately be alot of 'For Sure' things so why don't we just list them here to make the remaining days of preseason go faster...
Nation-Wide Kansas City Chiefs Bars
Recently I was approached in Denver and was asked where I would watch my Kansas City Chiefs games, and I determined many people have this same problem in cities around the country. So I want to propose we make a list of Kansas City Chiefs bars. So if you know of bars in major cities that are exclusively Kansas City Chiefs bars or atleast Kansas City Chiefs-friendly. List them here:
Monday Night Football (9/13/2010): The Deciding Factor
This year, Week 1 Monday Night Football kicks off with the San Diego Chargers coming into Arrowhead to face the Kansas City Chiefs. Phillip Rivers leads the favored Chargers (a 5.5 point favorite), who are looking to make up for an incredibly disappointing end to their 2009 season, against Matt Cassel and the Kansas City Chiefs who are being described as being "..in rebuilding mode with really nothing to lose." Can the Chiefs pull off an upset and beat the Chargers, who tend to start slow each season? Probably not say many experts, sighting, "They just don’t have the weapons." Other so called experts continue their rant stating, "Sure, the Chargers have a relatively weak defense, but that is doubly true for the Chiefs. And if we go from there and start comparing offenses, it doesn’t look pretty for Kansas City"
Apparently, these experts have not paid attention to preseason play and have failed to notice we have Jamaal Charles, Thomas Jones, Dexter McCluster, Javier Arenas, Eric Berry, Brandon Flowers, Derrick Johnson, Chris Chambers, and Dwayne Bowe who are capable of being "game changers" and who are all possess that explosive aggression to make a play which could change the outcome of any play, series, game, or even season.
This game is fast approaching and is now less than three-weeks away. What do you think will be the 'Deciding Factor' in the Chiefs WIN over the Chargers on Monday Night Football?
FYI: Preparing for MNF Game. Need a jersey?
Recently I shopped NFL.com, KCChiefs.com, and many other online jersey stores, but honestly nothing compared to eBay. No I am not talking about buying the screen printed replica jersey you can pick up at Wal-Mart. I am talking about the NICE handmade RBK Equipment jersey with the sewn on letters, numbers, and patches; stretchable sleeves; and more. Well this just a quick post to let you know there are great eBayers selling new jerseys like the realy NFL jerseys on KCChiefs.com for $245. If you are looking for a jersey try these two sellers.
Why the Kansas City Chiefs WILL Win the AFC West in 2010
Alright why everyone is eager to drink the Kool-Aid and toss around their predictions for the upcoming 2010 NFL Campaign, I'll step to the 50 yard line and give you the inside scoop from inside my head. Here we go ChiefsatWar style, I runnin' this:
MNF Chiefs vs. Chargers - I'll will be there!!!
At 9:20 a.m., Monday, September 13 my Southwest flight from Denver, CO (Donkeyville) will land at Kansas City's airport (MCI). It will be my first return to my favorite sports city in over 8-years and my first ever visit inside Arrowhead Stadium. I have seen every American League team play the K.C. Royals atleast 6-times, and I have held tickets to a Chiefs game before but never made it through the gates (a really long boring story). Yes, I am thrilled at the thought of being 1 of 78,000 in the Red Sea to watch our first MNF game in 6-years in the renovated Arrowhead Stadium in the national spotlight become witness to the Kansas City Chiefs return to dominance...

By My Count (A Preseason Wish List)
By my count there is only 9-days; 13-hours; 27-minutes until training camp starts and we can here real news on our beloved Kansas City Chiefs; 23-days; 0-hours; 27-minutes until our first preseason game and when we can really see these face in a game setting; and 54-days; 3-hours; 42-minutes until we start beating the shit out of the San Diego Chargers. The 2010 Campaign is before us. We are excited and ready. We keep predicting our 2010 season results and speculating trade scenerios with Jarad Page and signing dates of our newest Kansas City Draft Picks...
We all know there is more work to be done to our Kansas City Chiefs to make them a legitimate playoff contender, and we also know that we are an organization stronger than last year with our recent additions.
We all have a Kansas City Chiefs wish list, and I want to hear yours. What changes do you want to see happen or who do you want to cut/acquire before we arrive in Atlanta in 23-days; 0-hours; and 27-minutes for our first preseason game? Be quick but detailed in your opinions.
For example: I want T.O. on our team because it is hard not having a diva around. I miss you Larry Johnson.
or
I want the Chiefs to sign Eric Berry to a 10-year deal to avoid future contract trouble.
