If YOU were Pioli, what would you do with the 5th pick?
I know we talk about this all the time but, I wanted to see what people think they would do if they were really honest with themselves about the 5th overall draft pick this year. If you were under the same amount of scrutiny that Scott Pioli is under, who would you take with a pick this high?

A young team on the rise
Well APers the decade of the 2000s was a pretty rough ride for fans of the Chiefs. We went from being a dominant force in the 90s under Marty Schottenheimer to a pretty good but very old team under Dick Vermiel to an utter embarrassment under Herm Edwards.
Now, we have brought in some young blood in Todd Haley and, although a lot of us may or may not like what we saw under the young head coach, he's here to stay. To me it looks like he showed tremendous improvement over the course of the 2009 season and the offense in particular began to look like one that could soon be an unstoppable mix of an incredible rushing attack and an aggressive downfield passing game. It was a rough year for most of us here at AP. I think many of us had grandiose expectations of what we would see but, the more the season went on, the more we began to realize that this season was being used to evaluate the young talent on the roster as opposed to winning now. It's painful when the fans who have already been longsuffering have to go through such a tumultuous year but, it was necessary to find out who can stay here as a Chief and lead the great fans of the Chiefs to the promised land.

The Chiefs offense is in real trouble. Here's why
Well Chiefs fans, another frustrating loss against a beatable team. As bad as it was, I think there are bigger issues that are starting to surface at One Arrowhead Drive. I am starting to see these guys turn on each other and that poses much worse, long term problems that could prolong the growth of this troubled football team.

I think I should apologize to you guys
As those of you who have been members of AP for a long time know, I can be pretty opinionated regarding the Kansas City Chiefs. The problem is that sometimes I get a little carried away when I am trying to make a point. Earlier today, Woodman raised my awareness about a comment I made regarding certain members being drunk on the Chiefs kool-aid. At the time that I made that comment, I didn't really see the issue with it but, after looking at it further, I realize that I could have maybe chosen a different way to make my point. More after the jump (I always wanted to say that)

Does Derrick Mason's retirement affect the outcome of week 1?
With all the excitement around here with the Matt Cassel signing I thought it would be a good time to talk about the upcoming season. (week 1 in particular)
As we all know, Derrick Mason recently announced his retirement from the NFL after the untimely passing of his former QB and close friend Steve Mcnair. (RIP "Air Mcnair")
Derrick Mason has been a solid WR for this entire decade and has put up numbers that have only been shadowed by guys like Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, and Marvin Harrison since 2000. Last season, he was a frequently used weapon by the Ravens in clutch situations and it seems as though it could leave quite a large hole in the Baltimore receiving corps.
My question is this: How do you guys think this will effect the outcome of week 1 at Baltimore? I for one have felt like we could win this game anyway but, I wanted to hear what you guys have to say about it.
This is my first actual post so, take it easy on me if you don't like it. I comment all the time but, I have never tried to do an actual Fanpost before. If you do like it, Keep the rec's coming!
