The farm system is a nuclear wasteland

500

The Giants' farm system is bleak. So very, very bleak.

Brandon Hicks: Not your typical Giant

125

For the first time in a while, the Giants have a true swing-and-miss king.

The Giants and opposite-field hitting

Brandon Belt and expanding the zone

532

Brandon Belt is swinging outside of the zone more in 2014. Let's all freak out together.

Michael Morse is a strong, dinger-blasting man

980

Breaking news: dinger lust is a very real thing.

The new Matt Cain

97

Matt Cain panic is the new panic.

Bumgarner's best pal, the slider

Do you like slider? Check [ ] YES.

Curve Your Enthusiasm

I was going to make a Trouble with the Curve pun, but screw that terrible movie.

Hunter Pence's oppo-pop

Did you know that Hunter Pence is hitting for a buttload of power to the opposite field? Well, he is!

2012 Breakout Candidate: Mike Kickham

5

John Sickels has Mike Kickham on his list for a potential breakout. I'm interested in Kickham this year. As John notes, his numbers weren't overly impressive, but he's a lefty that can crack 90mph and that's (almost) always a valuable commodity.

Still Too Early 2012 MLB Standings Projection

I swiped this from BBTF this morning. Check out the NL West projections.

Talking Giants prospects with John Sickels

+

READ MY BLOG I asked John Sickels a few questions about prospects.

I was happy with how this turned out, thought I would spam you guys.

Schulman tweets: BREAKING NEWS: Wilson out with mild oblique strain. Will be reassessed Monday. Opening Day in doubt. I'll blog shortly.

Does anyone here use R? I'm having issues setting my axes. I've tried 'xlim' and 'ylim' but without any success. Ideally, I would like my X-axis to run from -4 to 4. I'm using the smoothscatter function as described here.

PFX: Scouting Report on Colby Lewis

+

Colby Lewis is a pretty cool story. I hope the Giants beat him today, but he's no pushover. I looked at some of his PFX numbers, particularly how he pitches RHBs vs. LHBs. Lot's of sliders. Plz, no Rowand today.

Q&A w/ Crashburn Alley (Giants-Phillies NLCS)

10

I talked with Bill Baer of Crashburn Alley and got to ask him a few questions regarding the Phillies. The Giants portion of the Q&A should be going up on CBA sometime today, too.

Q&A with Braves Blog

23

I did a quick Q&A about the Giants-Braves match-up with Braves blog, Capital Avenue Club. I thought I would (spam) share it.

Madison's Historic Rookie Season

Spammy, I know, but I had fun writing this and the numbers surprised me some. Madison Bumgarner = better than you

Giants to stay in Richmond for the next 2 years

3

Not sure if this has been posted yet. "The Giants and the franchise that was based in Norwich, Conn., before relocating to Richmond last September have been linked since 2003. The Washington Nationals apparently had some interest in moving their Double-A operation to Richmond, but stayed in Harrisburg, which is completing a $45-million ballpark renovation."
