As of Tuesday, seven teams were over the cap

"Per a source with knowledge of the cap numbers, here are the seven teams that were in the red: Raiders ($17.3 million), Steelers ($11.5 million), Texans ($8.5 million), Vikings ($5.6 million), Lions ($5 million), Cowboys ($3.7 million), and Panthers ($939,000)."

I haven't seen this around here yet but it's a nice little reference, especially with the most crazy, chaotic, free agency period we've ever seen on the horizon.

Purely academic: Suh or Berry? I just thought I'd pose this question to start a (hopefully) interesting conversation. OBVIOUSLY we would have never known because Suh was not available when we picked. But if we had, and we know then what we know now, which would you choose? Both (do / would) add a very interesting and unique dynamic to whatever defense they are put on and are the type of players, I believe, that would flourish anywhere. I have a very hard time answering this myself, to be honest. What do you guys think?

Not football related, but I thought I'd show all you avid Barbecue fanatics what I've been airbrushing the last few days. This was a Father's Day gift for a friend on the back of his bright red smoker. There are more pics of the entire thing on my site but I thought this was the money shot. I'm already looking forward to seeing this thing at the American Royal and Arrowhead this year. Go Chiefs!!!

Arrowhead Stadium: Primed and Ready

Hello Fellow Chiefs Fans! It's been a while since I've given you guys a little gift so I thought I'd start things off with a bang.

Playing every defensive snap took its toll on Berry

27

''If we had another game, I would have made it and I would have been ready,'' Berry said. ''But I have to tell you this: When the season was over, I didn’t do anything for about a month. I didn’t go out or do anything. I was supposed to go home (to Georgia) and I didn’t even book my flight. I just stayed in the house, watched TV. I just sat around the house. I wasn’t used to playing that many games. My body was just through afterwards.''

While I contemplate whether I'm doing another series this upcoming season, I at least want to do a pre-season type image similar to the arrowhead stadium painting i did last year. Last year, it was so clear cut. Chargers. Monday Night Football. Game one on the year. Hyped up rookie squad. You had to cut the suspense and anticipation with a chainsaw. This year, things are different. Not only because it's a non(less)-meaningful game at home (at least it's at home...) against the Bills (the Chan Gailey connection doesnt hold my interest here). But also because of the looming lockout. Will there even be football this year? Or at least will the season start on time? I had originally wanted to do a painting of a series of photos I took at the playoff game against Baltimore. I had seats in the upper deck and I stitched together a panorama image as reference. I thought that would be cool this year, to do an inside shot as opposed to a half a mile away type shot like I did around this time last year. I also would like some feedback from everyone on what you guys want. Does this sound like something that would be enjoyed overall? Or should I go with something like a more generic Baldwin image just so everyone can see the big fella in a Chiefs jersey? Any feedback would be nice. This is for you guys, after all. I'll probably make my decision around whenever this thread dies out. Go Chiefs! :)

Hello everyone! Posterized enjoyed it's first appearance in print form last Friday at the TrippleWide, here in KC, and I'd have to say it was a great success. Big thanks to everyone that made it out! I had a lot of fun with this painting. I like the calm before the storm feel that it gives, and is a fun, subtle way to sneak the playoff appearance into the series. Thanks for the support this season guys. I couldn't have done it without you! { Posterized Wallpapers }

I just thought I would let everyone who was interested know that my Posterized series will be a late addition to a gallery during First Fridays in the River Market area of KC next week! This is also my first show, which I'm especially stoked about. It will be at Funkhouser headquarters on 5th and Walnut from 8 to 11 for anyone that wants to come and see the series in its entirety (including that elusive week seventeen painting), grab some cheap drinks and hear some live music. Should be a blast!

I think he's one of those type of guys that you can go up and talk to. You can put your input in, you know... he likes the players' opinions, he likes to see what we're seeing, you know. He doesn't just go out there and tell us what we're doing, but he likes to get feedback from us. That's always good to have in a head coach, where you can talk to him and kinda vent, and tell him what's going on out there on the field... but not only on the field, but off the field. So that's always a big plus."

Eric Berry on Todd Haley during an interview by Antrel Rolle at the Pro Bowl. Antrel asked him his opinion of Haley after telling him that he thought he was one of the better coaches he had been around. It's nice to hear straight from the players' mouths that our head coach isn't an unapproachable knucklehead. {i saw this live on NFL Network and transcribed it. i have no link. sorry!}

Q: Any immediate reflective thoughts on the Chiefs' season? A: One of the league's best young secondaries. Chiefs have a lot to like on the roster, but that secondary could be scary in a season ot two. Especially if Hali stays dominant. Q: Any good or bad things to say about Arenas as a nickel db? A: We liked Arenas too, part of the good outlook for that secondary. Entire nickel package is young and talented.

I apologize that this is so late! Holiday/family stuff put this on the back-burner for the last few weeks. Regarding the final image, I really, really, really don't want to do anything regarding that Raider game. Instead, I'd like to do an image that is more representational of the entire season. It was a really fun ride regardless how it ended. You guys can feel free to shout out some suggestions here, or hop over to the thread I'll be putting up on my site. Enjoy! {wallpapers}

Happy Holidays everyone! I had to do a Governor's Cup piece... With all due respect to Wally, Jamaal, Kendrick, & Dustin, you don't get a chance to do a meaningful G-Cup painting every week... Good win this week. I was in the process of having a heart attack the first quarter that reminded me of that first drive that SD had against us the week before, but they turned it around, and played hard doing it. Good win! ~Shout out to all those guys I listed above. Wallpapered!

This week, Chiefs fans, I'm opting for amnesia. Backup quarterback... Revenge... Sunshine in December... Nothing felt right. So, instead of glorifying that miserable game, I choose to transport you to a place where the beer is cold, the grills are hot, and the Kansas City Chiefs are undefeated. Go Chiefs! {Wallpapers}

Regarding this week's Posterized painting... I'm fanatically trying to think of ways to forget this game today, and I've been tweeting about what to paint. I threw out the idea of doing a Berry / Tamba painting from this game, but honestly, I really don't know if I even have it in me to do that. (somewhat kidding. I would do it if there was serious interest) Here's what I'm thinking. I want to do something "outside the box" so that I don't have to glorify that awful game. I'm proposing the idea of doing an ode to Arrowhead: a tailgating painting. Just a little something to remind us of not only the power that we have at that stadium, but the success we've had there this season. How does this sound? Is this too "outside the box?" Discuss!

Asked and received! A few of you were Rec'ing up the idea of a Haley Posterized image in my post from last week's image, so I decided to go with it. It was great to see Haley that pumped up after a victory. I'm really starting to love him as a head coach. Wallpapered!

Oh well :P I divided this image into three seperate wallpapers that you can choose from. Your choices are Bowe, Cassel, and Smith. Choose wisely! :D Wallpapers Now for this week... Any suggestions?
