Fan, at press conference: "Why do we have such a lame intro? The Flames have like, fire and stuff. Are we really going to let Edmonton and Calgary win? We should have a whale."
Mike Gillis replied: "I’d rather have a hockey team."
"Ricky Bobby is not a thinker, Ricky Bobby is a driver! He is a doer! And thats what you need to do. You don’t need to think, you need to drive! You need speed. You need to go out there and you need to rev your engine! You need to fire it up! You need to grab hold of that line between speed and chaos and you need to wrestle to the ground like a demon cobra! And then, when that fear rises up in your belly you use it! And you know that that fear is powerful because it has been there for billions of years and it is good! You use it, and you ride it! You ride it! You ride it like a skeleton horse through the gates of hell! And then you win Ricky, you win! And you don’t win for anyone else, you win for YOU! You know why? Because a man takes what he wants, he takes it ALLLLLLL! And you’re a man, aren’t you? AREN’T YOU?!"

Nucks Misconduct Round 1 Game 2 Meetup: You Can't Stop the Signal
So since the last meetup was a resounding success, and our last playoffs meetup was also spectacularly awesome, I've decided a playoffs meetup (perhaps even one every round) is in order. And since this is the only weekend free that I have for the next while its perfect timing. For any newcomers who don't know, theses meetups are generally excuses for some of the Lower Mainland NMers to get together, watch some hockey, argue about the readiness of Chris Tanev and drink some beer. And since this will be a playoff game the stakes will be even higher. Last NM meetup we played Calgary and that ended in an awesome tip-in Ebbett goal. This time we'll be facing the Kings here in Vancouver and I get the feeling its going to be one hell of a dogfight. Now, if you like beer, hockey and delicious pub food, then this Nucks Misconduct meetup is the place for you. Details after the jump, comrades.

Nucks Misconduct Meetup: Is This Your Homework Larry?
So Saturday night was the 5th Vancouver Nucks Misconduct Meetup and as expected, it was a roaring good time. Good beer, good people, good hockey; everything one needs to properly take in a hockey game in this fine city. Also it was Yankee Canuck's birthday on Friday so we also drank in his honour. Seeing as these meetups seem to be growing in popularity and just seem to be getting better everytime, I think a playoffs meetup (or four) are forthcoming. A couple people suggested one for each round so that might be a possibility. Let's get there first though. But before we go into the veritable hell that is the Stanley Cup Playoffs, we have some pictures of some drunk Nucks Misconduct and Twitter folks watching an awesome hockey game at St. Augustines on Commercial Drive in Vancouver. How about that Andrew Ebbett eh? Andrew and I knocked over both our chairs and spilled his beer everywhere when Ebbett scored in overtime.
Here is the ever elusive VancityDan, I think he was telling us about how Kassian is going to be a good player for us:

Nucks Misconduct Meetup: I Aim to Misbehave
Hi there NMers, its that time again. Time to leave the wife (or husband), kids and dog at home and come on down to the finest bar in all of the Commercial Drive area for some sweet delicious nectar (also known as beer), some wings and most importantly, so good old fashioned hockey. Overall, these Nucks Misconduct meetups are an excuse for some Lower Mainland NMers to get together, watch hockey, drink too much beer and swear profusely (okay I'll be doing most of the swearing). Last time we were at an NM meetup we played Calgary and well, let's try not to think about that again. It never happened. And what's great about the upcoming NM meetup is that we'll get to rewrite those memories because we're playing them again. Nucks Misconduct meetups are great, despite our dismal record (1-3-1). At our playoffs NM meetup, which was Game 2 vs. Boston, the People's Champ Alex Motherfucking Burrows gave us another display of his heroics. You can see my reaction to that here:
Obviously watching hockey games with NM folks is an experience like no other. Look after the jump for the essential info. Also, props to anyone who gets the title reference.
Nucks Misconduct Meetup - We have to go back, Kate!
Hey folks, its about time for another Nucks Misconduct meetup. Generally these are an excuse for a few Lower Mainland NM-ers to get together, drink till our motor skills are almost completely non-existent, and scream obscenities at televisions. So if you like Canucks hockey and drinking with cool people, then this meetup is the place to be. Last NM Meet-up we were treated to an exciting game, despite being a loss, vs. the Penguins and the one before that was Game 2 versus Boston, where The People's Champ Alex Motherfucking Burrows displayed his God-given talent 11 seconds into overtime. Presumably, and if my rudimentary knowledge of patterns is correct, we are due for a win! The game will be against Calgary, and fuck Calgary, so that'll be fun! Sweeter than a cold Granville Island Cypress Mountain Honey Lager on a hot summer day. Yes, sweeter than that. Anyways, the details for our group therapy session meet up are after the jump!

Nucks Misconduct Season Opener Meetup: F**k you Geno
So last night was the NM season opener meetup. It was epic. We drank, we watched hockey, and we cursed Geno a million times. Unfortunately we lost in the horseshoe throwing competition shootout, but good times were had by all and at least we didn't get embarassed like we did in the first NM Meetup. Special thanks to the lovely Dani, aka Benched Whale on Twitter and SBN who came and graced us with her presence. Anyways, so Twitch decided to record our night of debauchery in picture form.
After the jump you can see all the mayhem in its glory.

We Are Tonight's Entertainment: Nucks Misconduct Season Opener Meetup
[ED: In case you need somewhere to hang out tonight, CC has you covered. As always, we demand pictures of the destruction]
Hi there, Nucks Misconduct and internet tubes folk. Its that time again, when the city shuts down and the streets run red with wine. The Canucks are back and they are playing their first regular season game on Oct 6th against the Crosby-less Penguins, here in Vancouver at General Motors Place Rogers Arena. A couple of us alcoholics die hards here at Nucks Misconduct have been eagerly awaiting the return of hockey and we thought there was no better way to usher in the return of hockey than to drink and watch hockey along with internet friends until we are hospitalized or are rendered blind!
Nucks Misconduct Vancouver Season Opener Meetup
So Canuck_gal and I were thinking of having another Nucks Misconduct meetup since the last one was so awesome. We're thinking season opener, Oct 6, vs Pittsburgh. Let us know in the comments here whether you'd be interested or not and where you'd like to go. I'm completely open to suggestions. Last time we went to St. Augustine's on Commercial Drive and it was very good. Also, I've included a link in the main title of this fanshot to the fanpost chronicling our last NM meetup during Game 2 of the SCF where Alex Motherfucking Burrows was once again clutch.
Here we are.... on the edge of glory. I just found this Canucks video, it is very new. I thought it was decently cut. The "Inches" speech has been used so much but I thought the video fit well as a precursor for Game 7.
Win the cup, boys. Go Canucks Go.
My thoughts on the SCF, with some help from PITB
via i.huffpost.com
Here we are, on the eve of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals. The Vancouver Canucks are ahead 3-2 in the series. This series has had everything; clutch wins by the Canucks thanks to heroics from the 'villains': Alex Burrows, Raffi Torres, and Max Lapierre, and blowout losses at the hands of the Bruins at the TD Garden. This playoff run has been in a word; amazing. We've had highs and we've had lows. This city has come together as one to support this team at every step of the way. Everywhere you go in Vancouver all you hear about are the Canucks.
But there has also been a negative part to this awesome playoffs run. The media has descended upon this city like never before. The Stanley Cup Final has been perhaps one of the most covered finals.. well, ever. Throughout our run and perhaps amplified in the Stanley Cup Final, a narrative has begun to emerge from the media. A narrative that paints everyone connected to the Canucks, from the players to the fans, as terrible, soul-sucking demons. The narrative has become so defined, the hate so clear, that a bias against the Canucks has emerged. This is where Pass It To Bulis comes in. Harrison Mooney of Pass It To Bulis does a great job of calling out various media members on their bias. After the jump you'll find a few choice excerpts from the whole article.

Nucks Misconduct Playoffs Meetup: Drinking and Hockey
So yesterday was the Nucks Misconduct Playoffs Meetup. It was great times. We watched hockey, we drank heavily, then watched more hockey. The game was the perfect ending to an awesome night... Alex Motherfucking Burrows is so goddamn clutch. St. Augustines was a fine establishment and I spent way too much money there.
After the jump I have some more pictures that Twitch took of our night.

All the different types of Canucks fans. Which one are you?
Where Everybody Knows Your (User)Name: Nucks Misconduct Playoffs Meetup
Hey guys, its that time of year again. The time of year where it seems everyone in the city is a Canucks fan, and when gametime rolls around, everyone gathers at the local pub (where everybody knows your name because your bartab is through the roof) or in front of the TV to take in the awesomeness that the Canucks put on the ice. Well we here at Nucks Misconduct understand your need for hockey camaraderie, and we want to bring the wonderful members of this blog to watch a game together and to imbibe alcoholic beverages copiously with little to no regard for our wellbeing and livers, more specifically.
After the jump you'll find all the details.

Alex Burrows. History Will Be Made.
Everyone needs to watch this video before Game 7.
The music is an orchestral version of Metallica's 'One'.
New Daniel Sedin History Will Be Made video from the NHL. Props to seedvt for finding it.
Happy Birthday Burr!
So today, April 11th, is Alex Motherfucking Burrows' 30th birthday. It seems only yesterday we were calling him up from the Moose and playing him on the third and fourth line with Kesler. Now he is a first-liner with the Sedins, and Vancouver's goals leader for last year and the year before. The man can score goals. Not only that, but he is one of the hardest working players on the team. He never takes a shift off and he fits with the Sedins perfectly. He's French-Canadian. He's humble. He's funny. He is also devilishly handsome, like me. After the jump are a few highlights of Burr's Canuck career up until now. Happy birthday Alex.
Burrows' two goals, the latter of which was absolutely clutch. Rome's goal was his very first as s Canuck.
Canucks head back home to Vancouver to face off against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night.
ON TO THE NEXT ONE.
Captain Hank's 19th goal of the year was a beauty. His brother, Daniel Sedin, the Hart Trophy candidate, got a point on the play giving him a 7 point lead over second place Martin St. Louis who is tied with Captain Hank with 89 points. Also, Dank is now 10 points up on Stammer for the Art Ross Trophy Race.
Canucks got 50 wins tonight, for the first time in franchise history. And set a new record for road wins. Hammer was injured though, and I just saw on Twitter that he has a concussion. God I hope he's back in time for the playoffs.
Anyways, the Canucks face Nashville on Tuesday.
ON TO THE NEXT ONE.
My girlfriend just made this photoshop of her photobombing Kesler, in the spirit of the @VanCanucks avatar. If you're wondering whats on her head, its some weird hipster animal toque from Urban Outfitters.
Yeah, she's pretty much the coolest chick ever.
Kesler bringing the lulz during Schneider's interview.
Ginger Jesus played the best game of his NHL career.
ON TO THE NEXT ONE.
(h/t Dhiren Mahiban for posting the image on Twitter.)
This is for my Poli Sci major brotha Beantown Canuck. As you can all see, when asked to pick between Celine Dion and Arcade Fire, PK Subban (he of future Norris, Hart and NAACP awards) chose Celine Dion instead of Arcade Fire. Which proves that Arcade Fire sucks!
VICTORY AT LAST.
One year ago exactly, Sidney Crosby sent the entire nation of Canada and I into a hockey and beer fueled frenzy.
This is the single greatest hockey moment of my entire. Better than Hank scoring in 4OT, better than Linden's last game, better than seeing Burrows/Kesler score hatties live at GM Place.
I still get chills watching this video.
IGINLA!
CROSBY SCORES!
THE GOLDEN GOAL!
The Sedinery. Sometimes its a simple back pass from Henrik to Daniel. Sometimes its a stretch pass from Daniel to Henrik. Sometimes its a quadruple OT and Dank goes around the back of the net and passes to Hank in the slot to win game 1 of the playoff series against Dallas. Sometimes its Henrik setting up Alex Motherfucking Burrows in the slot. Hell, sometimes it pisses you off because the passes get picked off.
And then there are instances like this. Sauve with the great individual effort to get it to Dank. Dank to Burrows, cross ice. Alex Motherfucking Burrows back to Dank. Dank to Captain Hank who puts it into the wide open net.
AND THAT'S HOW ITS DONE, FOLKS.
On to the next one.
Excellent video showing Vancouver's progress through this season so far. Props to whoever posted this in the comments, I can't remember who it was.
A bit old, but nevertheless:
JOLLY GOOD, I SAY.
Via @Canuck_gal. [view larger image]
Revel in its awesomeness.
Its like every overzealous comment Ive ever posted here as been combined into a picture.
Henrik Sedin's tying goal tonight. Daniel Sedin's assist on the goal tied him with Stammer for the league lead, then Dank's GWG gave him the lead.
So the Sedins were clutch and the Sedinery was insane against Chicago.
ON TO THE NEXT ONE.
Beer, Burrows and Sweatt
So it was a buddy of mine's birthday a couple days ago, and his dad got him some Canucks tickets... not really having any ardent Canucks fans in his family he asked me if I wanted to go.... and I enthusiastically accepted. Our seats were pretty awesome, lower bowl, Section 122, pretty close to Luie's net for periods 1 and 3. The closest Ive ever sat in a game. Very epic. Here are some pictures from the game.
