Buffalo Rumblings Thank You Mr Wilson!

Bear with me here folks. This is a gentleman whom I have repeatedly stated on here that although he could have, many times over the years, moved our team and made himself more money. Mr Wilson is a man who has been ridiculed, and castigated, not only by Bills fans, but by others around the league. But I'll tell ya what....

Mr Wilson, once again, has shown all of us that he is much more faithful to Buffalo, it's fans and city, than we have ever been to him. With the last CBA, he KNEW it would hurt the chances of our Bills remaining in Buffalo. He KNEW it was an arrangement to the detriment of small market teams. Remember??? Is there anyone here, or in Cincinnati for that matter, that did not ridicule their "no" votes in the last CBA??? Amazingly, only 2 years later, ALL the NFL owners realized what Mr Wilson and Mr Brown tried to tell them... The CBA stunk, and hurt not only the smaller market teams, but the whole league...

We know little yet about the details of this new CBA, but one thing we do know, is there is a lot more shared revenue between the clubs, and that the vote of the league, was unanimous, meaning both Mr Wilson and Brown signed off on it... Yeah, there was a shared revenue pie in the last CBA, but did it bother anyone else that new stadium expense was included in what was shared? Before any of the small market teams got anything? That the NFL was (and may still be), in discussions to build a stadium in LA for a non existent team??

No more... The teams get the money first according to reports, before any league projects that make a Bills fan pay for another Jonsyworld....

But most important of all.... Thank You Mr Wilson!!! Your vision, and dedication to Buffalo, the fans, and the Buffalo Bills, has once again worked to make the Bills more financially stable, and attractive, as a franchise that remains in Buffalo, not only under your watch, which I pray lasts many, many more years, but for future generations, so they can also enjoy this wonderful legacy you brought to us.

Thank You Mr Wilson...... You are truly, THE Buffalo Bill....

To any posters... Please keep any negative comments out!!!!

Buffalo Rumblings Random Musings of Cinga

I know a lot of people around here think that now with the trade of McNabb to the Skins, Buffalo has a great shot at Clausen, and seem to agree that he will be our pick... While it's apparent that Chix went hard after McNabb, or at least as hard as a couple Ga "good ole boys" can, I see things a little differently....

Look, if Chix was sold on the pickle, and planned to draft him, why McNabb??? A second rd pick, and probably more, for a stop gap of a year or 2 till Clausen was ready just doesn't make sense. Especially if he is so NFL ready as many think.... And now the rumors are swirling that the Bills are interested in Campbell too...

When the news of the McNabb trade hit, the last thing I expected to hear was interest in Campbell quite frankly... I don't know that anyone will dispute that our 2 greatest needs on offense are OT and QB... I wasn't sold on the new Staff wanting a QB yet until the McNabb deal however admittedly... If we had gotten him, I would have expected an OT in the first... Likewise, if we are truly interested in the pickle, I would expect an OT in the second or third... Or, what I really expected to follow the McNabb misfire, us now using that second he would cost in another trade for Gaither...

But now, with the apparent interest in Campbell.... Why??? If we're really enamored with Clausen, by most pundits, the most NFL ready of this years crop??? Well, I can only come up with 2 reasons.....

1) Buffalo has it's sights on someone else at 9... Someone not related to a Vlasic.....

2) It's that time of year.... Smoke screens abound... And Buddy knows the game... All our QB chasing is to make people think we don't want Clausen... But I'm not buying that one, cause literally everyone now thinks that's exactly who we want!!! So I refer you back to #1.....

I think Buddy wants everyone to think it's Clausen we want, but it's all a smoke screen... Again, why would we chase other QBs if he were gonna be our pick right along... Buddy has his sights on someone else that he's afraid someone will try to leapfrog us to take.... Dan Williams???? I don't know, I'm just musing after all... Randomly at that... :)

Buffalo Rumblings Why So Many QBs Bust

I started writing a response in a thread to something Kaisertown wrote, but it was getting too long. Basically, it's not rocket science folks, as I hope to show you in my ramblings to follow... Anyway, in that thread, Kaiser seemed to take offense with a post of mine, drawing a comparison of Mirer, Quinn, and possibly Clausen and rightfully so since I meant it in partial jest, but didn't "type" my sarcasm... So first, let me address my skepticism over Clausen, then we'll move on to the NFL as a whole...

Anyone who follows the February signing madness, even a little, knows that the Notre Dame recruiting class is always, at or near the top almost every year. Good school, great football tradition, enabling them to go after the top high school players around the country. But as any ND fan will admit, those recruiting classes have too often failed on the field for their football program as of late, but I would argue that, given a players positional ranking in high school, tends to inflate their value once NFL draft evaluations begin. Mirer, and Quinn, recruited as a couple of the top QBs in their high school classes, likewise highly rated coming into the pros... What happened??? Could it happen again to Clausen???

I'll give you my theory, but it's as simple as E=MC2......... :-)

Buffalo Rumblings Join Mocking the Draft

In progress right now over at Mocking the Draft... Uz is in right now for Der Jaeger.. Seattle is on the clock... BTW, both QBs still on the board... It wasn't supposed to start till 1, but it's going quickly already folks.. Uz wants us all there to knock his selections....   :-)

Predictably, many on board representing their teams are willing to trade down, but so far, no takers.. Uz is holding steady for now, not willing to waste picks to move up... So far, so good...
