I live in Florida. Born in Minnesota I have always and forever be a Viking fan
I was disabled in a serious car accident on Dec. 8,2007. My wife Jamie was wonderful and cared for me not knowing if I would be brain damaged or totally wheelchair bound. God has blessed me in that I taught myself to walk and stand although I still need a chair or walker at times. But considering I was not supposed to live, or walk if I did live, I am very fortunate, You will notice I have occasional memory lapses of some specific play in a game or player. There was some memory loss.
I used to teach school and coach soccer and assisted in football.
I enjoy boating and fishing. After the accident boating was difficult but with the help of a fundraiser we survived a financial crisis and later got a pontoon which is easier for me to get into and manuever about.
I have enjoyed this site since my "bud" Aaron turned me on to it.
Picture is at the NFL experience during Super Bowl week. I volunteered . Couldn't stand up to get my head in it due to my injury but at least I found something from the Vikings there

May I share to honor Chris
I don't mean to state the obvious. My background is a survivor of a truck rollover and being thrown out of a vehicle. This has made me sick as I saw it develop last night. I would like to think if CH could look down and say something he would want me to do this. I was blessed that God allowed me to live but it was long recovery and I am disabled but have gained some mobility. I often hope that God can use my experience to serve others. It was eerie as it was just 2 years and one week ago and now I see this happen to a kid who was making great strides in his life. I also remember the late Herb Brooks (Miracle on Ice Coach) who I had lived next door to many years back. He died in an accident similar to mine. The following is a copy of my post on Daily Norseman-
Really. You don’t know how deep this hit me. I spent some time looking at pictures of me with tubes all over. My wifes hand on my face and all I could think of was those poor kids of Chris’. Not me.
There are many days I wonder why I made it.
The dumb thing-I taught Dr. Ed. Here is what I want to remind folks in hope that it may save someone. I will never know but...
-WEAR THAT SEATBELT! and everyone in your car.
-Make sure the door is secure and lock it. Locking can prevent a door from popping open in a roll over. Lots of people don't know this. Locks are not for secuity from break-ins. They hold the latch from shifting.
-Don’t let anyone ride in the back of a pickup for any reason. -Make sure you are alert. I had gotten up from an afternoon nap and was heading to a friends. Being even a little tired can slow your reaction time.
-Of course, don’t drink and drive. I had quit a year earlier and thank God I did not cause another to get hurt. Had that happened and I had a speck of alcohol the 5 month hospital stay would have not been my only nightmare
-Also be aware that non prescription meds can effect driving. It took one split second of avoiding a deer as I was not scanning the road. I had no time to determine if it was person or animal. I sure wasn't going to risk it. My tire caught in a soft shoulder and flipped as I tried to get back on the road.
God be with you Henry family and to the family of Bengals fans. We are together with you.
Thanks for letting me share in this very sad moment

Chris Henry Fighting for his Life
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (AP)—Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry is “battling for his life” after falling out of the back of a pickup during what police described as a domestic dispute with his fiancee on Wednesday.
Henry was found in the road in south Charlotte “apparently suffering life-threatening injuries,” according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police. Police spokesman Robert Fey said officers were stationed near the 26-year-old Henry’s hospital room. He had no information on Henry’s condition, but said he was alive.
“We ask everyone to pray for Chris,” agent Andy Simms of PlayersRep Sports said in a statement. “We also ask that you respect the privacy of Chris’ family. Chris is indeed battling for his life tonight, and our thoughts and prayers (are) with him during this extremely difficult time.”
Trying to find out more. Just eats me up inside as I was thrown ou tof a pickup 2 years and 1 week ago. I was told only5 oercent survive being thrown from a vehicle.
Hang in there Chris. A prayer is going up for you grom a dude who made it.
This one really gets to me. Pray for Chris Henry,

Let Them Go Undefeated-My Viking Dream Scheme
I will go back to a "Kinder and Gentler Citrus" :-)
Two undefeated teams for the 1st time in NFL history. It has come down to the NFC title game between the Saints and Vikings. The table has been set for a Saints/Colts Superbowl. Our Vikings head to New Orleans to face the favored Saints and knock them off on some last quarter heroics-by any Viking, I don't care. Vikings win and eliminate the undefeated Saints. Colts win the AFC
We all head to our Super Bowl Parties. Me, I'll be down there in Miami even if I have to watch at some fancy sports establishment. Some of you may actually go to the game. Our Vikings have had enough of the history lesson and proceed to dismantle Manning and Co.
What do the Vikings accomplish? Their first Super Bowl and the only team in NFL history to stop 2 perfect seasons in the same year. Would that be the best?
I am sure the old undefeated Dolphins gang would certainly pay homage to an the adversary they beat when i was younger in one of the big ones. Stuff dreams are made of. Rumor has it that Dolphin group would send a case of the finest champagne to the team that stops a perfest season. They may owe our boy's 2 cases.
Like our friend said "The sky has not fallen". Our Vikings could do something incredible. I hope it goes down that way.

Apology for Ocho Stinko Fanpost
I did not wish to offend anyone. I apologize for sounding mean about what I wrote.
No, I don't like Ochostinko. I get tired of his dumb comments and showboating. Picking fights with others on Twitter, claiming he is as good as an Olypic caliber swimmer, etc. gets a little stupid in my book.
What irked me is he took the Vikings Mascot and spoke about how he was going to "use" the horn. I feel he crossed the line. You don't insult the fans in putting on one of your shows. You might as well say I'm going to dig my cleats into the Vikes logo before the game. I love Minnesota and long to move back. I love the Vikings. Our name, if you don't know the history, was chosen to represent the Scandinavian heritage of our state. I am proud to be a native Minnesotan and will not take kindly to such antics directed toward the sensitivities of fans.
I applaud Ocho for having the sense not to pull some antic out of his hat while losing. But Chad, don't do something that shows disrespect to the fans who love that team. That is what he was proposing. Be funny but don't be insulting. You were getting ready to cross the line.
To answer another question: I did not post such a thing on their site. I am not a troller and do not go on other folks sites to insite trouble. I have sites listed as I have a fantasy league with other NFC North fans from those sites. I do not go there to make insults to their teams.
Again. I apologize if I hurt anyone or portrayed myself as hateful. I did like the hit tho-sorry.

2nd Anniversary of my accident/Non football/FF Playoff reminder
Today is the second year of my devasting accident. Things change but not my passion for The Purple. I think more on what I want to do special and have some goals. I would like to get down to Miami if the Vikings make the Super Bowl.
Yesterday a idiot driver passed my car as I waited for a lady who was waiting to make left turn. Barely missing an oncoming car he hit a kids dog that was walking across the road. The poor thing layed there suffering terribly. Not knowing what I had went thru the lady had a pistol and asked me if I would do it. Of all the times! But if you saw what I did you knew what you had to do. I love dogs but it also brought tears to my eyes as I pictured me laying in a road bleeding to death 2 years earlier. Very sad. But it gave me a reminder time is short and keep my goals close to heart and keep volunteering little things. I am helping with a youth basketball league and hope to start a flag football league for kids who can't afford or get to play in youth leagues. Our church is supportive. I will be planning on working at a rehab center in Minn this Spring and summer. I will send details if any wish to donate and help. That is not my purpose now.
I want to thank DNers once again for keeping me company as I recovered and caught up with Viking news afte coming out of my coma and getting into a whellchair to play on a computer. What a joy it was to learn about the Daily Norseman and make new friends. It really helped me thru some painful and lonely times. Thanks to everyone.
I have also had fun doing the fantasy leages and have to remind our players we are now entering the playoff weeks.
I will keep you guys posted on our DN competitors and the out come.

Thoughts from Sunday/Call Derrick Brooks?
First. Unless I missed something isn't Derrick Brooks still out there. Older yes but we need a guy familiar and experienced in the middle. He has played the 2 coverage and the last I heard he was keeping in shape for such a scenario rather than risk what is left of his carreer on a cheap contract. Playing Jasper at Mike isn't a good idea unless it is all we have. Brooks would bring in the mental experience needed. Much like BF does, management experience.
2nd- I had posted how the D seemed to let down against a couple teams (Balt. for one) and seemed to put the accelorator on coast. Then we have two overwhelming wins against weak Seattle and Chicago teams. I just don't think there was a sense of intensity. Not only the D line but everywhere. Seconadary looked weak. Once again we didn't seem to have a strategy or alternative plan (coaching)until we hit Percy deep, and a little too late, we really didn't test their deep coverage. That could lso be cause the route running looked horrible. No one seemed intent on putting on the burners or decoying away from the play. This left Favre with no check down options.
Third- I agree with Gonzo and his "Panic button" article. Do you remember out record last year at this time? Like teams like Pittsburg who didn't look Super Bowl material, late season lessons made them tough when it counted. We must use this and realize talent alone just doesn't do it. Maybe this is what we needed to get realistic. Every game from here on must be won with more heart and urgency. Maybe this is what it took to get us to realize that no one will bow down and quit. Washington, Oakland and even Tenn. showed us that this past weekend.
It is time to start playing playoff mentality ball if we want to have that carry into the playoffs. I don't know what the coaches are saying but I would have a big time "Come to Jesus" meeting with these guys and lay it on the line. Sorry to say but my favorites need to be taken to the woodshed. Adrian, hold that damn ball right and hit that line and create holes. You looked like you wanted their D to just let you pass. Jared looked like he was playing with a hangover and Edwards had a chance to take advantage and didn't. Where was kevin? Phat Pat was the only guy who looked hungary. Secondary, you better study a lot of film cause this is what Brees will bring to the table. Sid and Bernard, you have to make the corners think the ball is coming to you even when it isn't and for heavens sake, make evey route deceptive. You may be the 2nd or 3rd option. Going thru the motions won't break a big opening.
Time to take this to the classroom. Teams that win will learn from their errors. Players look inside themselves and say "what did I do wrong" No the other way around.
We are not sunk, but unless we take this to school, it can easily be one and out in the playoffs. We know we are better than that.
Prayers go up for EJ. What a discouraging feeling he must have right now. Guys. You can send letters to players via Viking front office. They do get them.. A stack of get well cards from his fans would help some

This has been a tight league full of tight games so here is how we are faring. Wish us luck. I'll get DN leagues up this weekend. Dheer us on in this one guys. Great Vikings season so far. Don't worry,. We will crush New Orleans when it counts

Citrus Speaks on ESPN Brown-Nosing the AFC East
It has started out with ESPN telling us to "read between the lines" when showing a Favre interview. Read what? He said nothing contoversial and watchers were fed how our record was against teams with combined losing records. Again, no respect for the Purple. For that matter the entire NFC North.
Last night all I heard was about how great the Jets D is, how wonderful the Dolphins attack is and how dangerous the AFC East is. They are above average teams at best who will be knocking each other off and losing to upper teir teams. Shoot! At least the Vikes will beat either the Ravens or Steelers. Probobly Ravens but they will give the Steelers a battle and maybe sneak out a win. Undeafeated after these 2 games might be asking alot but not impossible.
Let's get some thing straight. Head to head the NFC North is a far better division than the AFC East.. Start with the Vikings against their field. We would crush any run attack from the Pats and bury Brady if the refs forget he is wearing a skirt. Our line would punish the Jets running game and put Sanchez into a rookie panic. The Dolphins? Our guys would not sucker into their Wildcat. Best D against their run. Greenway and Leber would not sucker out of position and Winny would come out of nowhere to put a blast on someone. Option up the middle-not a chance. Our DE's would be to quick for them to get around before our LB's got in there to squash any threat of a big end around or long run after the catch
Buffalo? I wouldn't even consider that a game.
So head to head with the North. Vikes would handle all of them but I'll take us over the Pats. I'll throw the Bears at Miami as I think their D has enough to stop the Wildcat and enough weapons to challenge the Dolphins on the scoreboard. They would keep the score down and special teams, D and a little Forte and Cutler would be enough to get them the points they would need to win.
I'll give the Pack the win over the "NY Pretty Boys" If their O-line could play mediocre it would be enough for Rodgers and Company to beat an over rated Jets D, as Miami did. The Pack D is young and building but would have enough to keep them in check. Higher scoring game but I'll give the Pack the edge in a game decided in the air. Rodgers will have the big edge there. I am sick of hearing how great of throw Sanchez makes to a wide open WR. He's not that great yet and there are a lot of QB's making better throws in tougher coverage.
The big finale would be The Kittens. I honestly think they would have a fun day against The Bills. Sure they have been losers but I have never seen a team that bad give so much. If the Rams had that "play hard even if we are not that good" attitude. They might not look so bad. PS Donnie avery-Quit dancing after a TD when you just got your ass wiped. I'l give theLions credit they had some players with some pride last year and you can still see the fight in them this year. Kept the guys with the good attitude and got rid of those content with losing.
If I have to listen to Jaws go on and on about the great AFC East is , I am going to find him somewhere and puke on his cute little BSPN jacket.

Anyway, here are the standings.
Players, identify yourself in the comment area. I am ashamed to admit I am 0--2 in both leagues but Chilly has been advising me.
