Tour Of Kansas City

This weekend saw the 45th running of the Tour of Kansas City and my first opportunity to get out and watch. It was also the first time I have seen a Crit in person. Loved the excitement and atmosphere from the whole event. The two biggest names in the race were Missouri resident Brad Huff from Jelly Belly and Lawrence , KS resident Brian Jensen from Successful Living. Jensen is also the overall winner of the past 3 events.

Shimano buys Pearl Izumi

Bike Biz is reporting that Shimano has acquired Pearl Izumi and will continue to operate it as a separate entity. this should allow Pearl to swing a pretty big bat with research and development and marketing. Article Here.

Interesting the number of buyouts in the cycling world. Is this the start of a business change for cycling? Maybe the larger companies are seeing opportunities in the growing market of cycling?

Thoughts?

Tornado to hit Tour Of California

It looks as though Tom Boonen will be hitting the streets of California. From the form shown in Qatar you guys out there should be in for a treat. make sure you get your spot by the finishing sprints early. I am sure that he will be a big draw. This to me makes it look as though ToC is becoming bigger every year. Here is the article Boonen California Bound.
