Dawgs By Nature Maybe this makes sense

The Browns need to to be able to run the ball effectively and stop the run. Basic football can win alot of games. The 2008 Tennesee Titans are a perfect example. The first Mangini draft was a terrible waste. Never waste draft picks especially on the first day of the draft. I give the browns a "D" grade in retrospect. You turn your team around by drafting skill players on Offense and signing vets for both Offensive and Defensive lines. Never trade your draft choices.

Looking back at the draft the Browns could have drafted much better. I would have drafted this group as an example.

1) Chris "Beanie" Wells       RB       Ohio State

2) Ray Maualuga                   LB        Southern California

2) Phil Loadholt                     T           Oklahoma

2) Shonn Green                     RB        Iowa

4) Victor "Macho" Harris        DB       Virginia Tech

6) Jason McCourty                 DB        Rutgers

6) Myron Pryor                         DT        Kentucky

6) Will Davis                            DE/LB   Illinois

I would have added DL and LB and TE through the free agency.  Josh Cribbs is a RB/KR not a WR. I would have tried to run the ball with big backs and a throw only when neccesary and Brady Quinn would be my QB. Derek Anderson would not be on my team. He would have been bundled in a trade for a WR. I would run 2 TE alot. The short pass is a young QB's best friend.   It will take 2 years of good drafting and retooling to get this going. The browns need 3 young power RB's and a big young line to run the ball. Byner and Mack where are you?
