Detroit Bad Boys Another Trade Idea (Cue Red Pandas)

I see that the Lakers need a change. Maybe that means Ron Artest, maybe not. If not, here is my trade idea:

Pistons receive: Andrew Bynum and Shannon Brown

Lakers receive: Greg Monroe, Tracy McGrady, Rip Hamilton

Reasons Pistons do it: Andrew Bynum would be the Pistons' franchise center for years to come (if he can stay healthy),  and we get rid of Rip's awful contract. We trade away $44 million in the next 3 years and recieve under $30 mill over the next two years.

Reasons Lakers do it: Getting sick of depending on an oft-injured Bynum, they can stick T-Mac at the starting PG position and push Fisher back to the bench (where he belongs). They receive an up-and-coming big man on the cheap in Greg Monroe.

Reasons Pistons wouldn't do it: Don't want to trade away Monroe for a $13 mill a year guy who's injured often.

Reasons Lakers wouldn't do it. Don't want to take on Rip's contract, or trade away a great talent in Andrew Bynum

What do you guys think? It would be great to get out of Rip's contract along with getting Bynum. Not sure if LA wants to give up on Andrew Bynum just yet, but we could be buying low on the guy. Also, I hate to even think about trading away Monroe, but if we can get out of Rip's contract while getting Bynum, I would love this trade.

Detroit Bad Boys Ice for Dyess

It's been quite a while since i've seen a comment on Antonio McDyess here. I know you all haven't forgotten about him in the least, but here's to hoping for Antonio to finally win. The Spurs look great this year, and perhaps have the big men to compete with the Lakers. Tim Duncan looks like he'll be more rested come playoff time, the right DeJuan is killing on the boards, Bonner is a deep threat, Splitter will have some experience, and not to mention Dice. As much as I rooted against the Spurs when Detroit faced them in the finals, I feel like they are (were?) the Western Conference version of the Stones. So, here's to you, Antonio McDyess. Good luck this year. This will in all likelyhood be your last year shot.

Detroit Bad Boys Robin Lopez. On the block, perhaps?

Anyone else think Robin Lopez could be had with the right offer? Lopez does not really fit the Suns' system the greatest, and last night that showed. He started, but played only 5 minutes. Meanwhile, Channing Frye scored 20 with 6 boards. I think Lopez could be had, and would be a near-perfect fit with the 'Stones. I don't see any good straight-up trade scenarios with them, but maybe a third team could be involved. Possibly trading Tay and and a guy like Wilcox and getting back Lopez and some contracts. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Detroit Bad Boys Louis Amundson

Just wondering why there were never even any rumors of the 'Stones going after Amundson. He's a quality big who plays scrappy defense and is tough. I know we already have that in Maxy, but this guy was just signed for 2 years at $5 mill. Last year he posted a net positive at both PF and C, although he is a bit of a stretch to be called center, but that's old news for the Pistons. For 2.5 mill a year, why were the Pistons not interested at all?
