Ramon Picks Rocks
MLBTR (via Rosenthal) says a deal is near. Hernandez had a swell run with the Reds. Here's wishing him all the best, except against Cincinnati!
Your $7 beer, now featuring e coli
Some Red Reporters (myself included), will be interacting with this device this afternoon, and many more will follow suit on Saturday. Am I alone with my sanitary concerns? If the beer egress point is on a flat, upward-facing surface, is not more nastiness bound to accumulate there? Won't food be continually passed over the dispenser? Plus, this setup puts vendor's hands closer to the rim of the cup. Red Reporter, your thoughts, please.
M's-Cards: I Know You're Watching
Tonight, inter-league play blesses us with another blood-feud in the making: The Seattle Mariners at the St. Louis Cardinals. It's ol' Adam Wainwright vs. some left handed slab of meat whose teammates almost certainly affectionately call him Frenchy. He's already being pummeled about, but the M's have scored some runs as well. 3-2 Cards is the score after two full frames, and the game is on ESPN.
Picture unrelated.
As a Redlegs enthusiast, you have an obligation to tune in and root, root, root for your Seattle Mariners! Let's get em, boys!
Colin Diary: A Hiatus
Man, is it a beautiful day. Birds are singing, insects are buzzing, squirrels and bunnies are bounding about. The sort of day that can really put things in perspective. Today, I have freed myself of my self-imposed obligation to the Cincinnati Reds.
The last thing I want to bother myself with on such a gorgeous day is another man's hamstring injury. Everyone knows hamstring injuries linger. I refuse to be beholden any longer to a baseball team that cannot bother to put its hurt players on the disabled list. Why should I deign to follow such a team that shows such disregard for me? I celebrate myself, etcetera.
Anyway, I am going on hiatus; from the Reds and consequently from Red Reporter. I am no fair-weather fan. The Reds cannot have fair-weather fans, for there is never any fair weather in their world. I'm not doing this to spite the Reds, I'm doing it out of respect for myself. I'll be back eventually, maybe soon, I don't know. But, like Joey Votto, there is no timetable for my return.
Godspeed, Red Reporters. I love you all. Alright, I love most of you.

Welcome to Atlanta: Where the Players Play (Braves Preview)
Hey, howdy and whatup! Cy Shourek tossed a complete game with the Marlins preview, so you know Colin Auscapee has to go deep in his first ever RR feature. Today’s question: how will the team from the city that Coke built fare in the ’09? This preview is much like my junk, if you sift through all the fluff; there is substance in there somewhere.

SWM iso Braves info
Hello, Chop talkers. I have journeyed all the way over here from Red Reporter because I am doing a preview of the Braves for that site. Some questions that I have about the team do not seem to be answerable through paltry internet research, so I wanted to get your collective take on matters. A few questions:
What is the estimated payroll for 2009?
As far as projected starting lineup, does
Escobar SS
Johnson 2B
Jones 3B
Anderson LF
McCann C
Francouer RF
Kotchman 1B
Anderson CF
look about right? If not, how should it look?
Which Braves are you high on, and which do you have concerns about?
As far as the rotation, will it be Lowe, Vazquez, Jurggens, Kawakami, and Glavine?
Am I right to detect a note of sourness about Glavine holding back Hanson's development?
What is/are the major battle(s) for jobs going on right now?
Where do you see the team finishing in '09?
Thanks in advance for all your help, the story is slated to be posted on Red Reporter this coming Tuesday, the 17th. Stop on by then and share your thoughts.
