Fox made an interesting bet by scheduling some English Premier League games on Sundays when they have only one football game.  Cool right?  They're starting with Manchester United-Chelsea this weekend.  Unfortunately, MyQ13, the Fox affiliate in Seattle, has decided not to pick up the game, choosing to air Seahawks Gameday followed by Family Guy, According to Jim, and Two and a Half Men.  I've sent an email to askus@q13fox.com inquiring into their decision, but as a random viewer, I do not expect a response.  There are still 2 more chances for Fox to right the ship.  The Seahawks have the "late" game in the other two weeks; hopefully there will not be Seahawks pregame to preempt the other Premier League games.

Colby Rasmus is getting the headlines on USA Baseball's website as one of the members of the Olympic team playing in Beijing next month.  Future Redbird Brian Barden will also join him.  You can see the 23 gentlemen chosen here: http://web.usabaseball.com/teams/index.jsp?team=940&content=roster

How cool is it that we get to cheer on a couple Redbirds while watching the Olympics next month?  The final schedule in Beijing isn't set yet, but there will be a full round robin among 8 teams starting on Wednesday August 15th, followed by semis and finals on Friday and Saturday August 22nd-23rd.

After the Redbirds finish their homestand against Fresno, they're flying to the northwest to play the Tacoma Rainiers Wednesday through Saturday.

The Memphis Redbirds are visiting the Tacoma Rainiers for a four game set August 1st through 4th.  For us Cards fans in the Pacific Northwest, this may be the best chance for us to cheer on our (future) Cards in person.
