Minor League Baseball Books
I love baseball books. They are definitely on my list of things you cannot have too many of. I have boxes full of them -- many that I have not even read yet. With that in mind, what are your favorite books focusing on minor league baseball besides the obvious choice of John's annual prospect books? Here are a couple of my favorites to start the list: Bill O'Neal's history of the Pacific Coast League (Pacific Coast League 1903-88) and The Minors by Neil J. Sullivan.
ESPN Football Today Podcast
Around the 25:00 minute mark, Jeremy Green comments on the Bellichick coaching tree's failings. He states that he thinks McDaniels' team hates him. A few minutes later, he admits that he is rooting against the Broncos.
Anyone know what Green's gripe against McDaniels is?
Real Action is Off the Field
Today is cut down day. Any guesses as to the Broncos' moves today? Will Kevin O'Connell be a Bronco by end of day? Will Jarvis Moss?
Pats cut QB O'Connell
O'Connell was expected to be Brady's backup. Will the Broncos drop Ingle Martin and grab O'Connell? Will the Chiefs grab him first?
Frei: Roy talks seal Granato's fate
"Barring an immediate, decisive, unconditional endorsement that pulls off the virtually impossible — convincing everyone that team president Pierre Lacroix and the organization truly has faith in Tony Granato — the Avalanche has to go to Plan B on the coaching front."
"That means replacing Granato. Whether as part of the long-delayed front-office restructuring that will lead to the naming of a new general manager, or as an independent move, it's virtually unavoidable."
Lombardi's Latest Three Round Mock
Broncos take:
#12 Everette Brown FSU DE/OLB (passing on Tyson Jackson)
#18 Malcolm Jenkins Ohio State CB
#48 Fili Moala USC DT
#79 Rashad Johnson Alabama S
#84 Jonathan Luigs Arkansas C
Not sure I see 2 DBs in the first five picks given that we just signed 3 (albeit not young) DBs in free agency.
Michael Lombardi Reminisces About 1986 49ers Draft
"Before we finally selected a player, we had collected three third-round picks, three fourth-round picks and a first-round pick in the 1987 draft. Walsh conducted a clinic that day, moving around the draft, but the real success came in the players we picked." - Michael Lombardi
The relevant section is toward the bottom of the article. This is the kind draft in terms of results we need to have this year.
Add It All Up and Denver Would Be a Good Fit
Malcolm Jenkins writing in SNT (see page 7 of April 1, 2009 edition -- hopefully the link will take you to the right linkplace). Jenkins is one of Styg50's 6 star players. It sounds like he thought the Broncos were pretty interested in him.
I missed this yesterday due to that other story.
Broncos Can Come Out of This OK
Eric Edholm of Pro Fottball Weekly provides his take on the Cutler Drama.
What a Fool Believes
Happy April Fool's Day MHR! Here in Jim Armstrong-style bullet point notes format are a few foolish thoughts offered for your consideration.

Plan B
In my opinion, Plan A should be to get Cutler back on board and playing for the Broncos this year under his current contract with the idea of signing a longer term deal with him next offseason. Unfortunately, it may be that the situation is unsalvageable and the Broncos have to trade him. With that in mind, here is my version of Plan B.
