I'm a diehard Nats fans, from 1 to 162 and firmly believe that they will reach the playoffs within the next 3 years if not the next two and that will be long before the orioles(not being mean, just honest).

I believe that Jim Bowden is a decent GM, not great, but not worthy of firing just yet, if the nats don't make progress in 09' pending that the team isn't completely injury plagued again, then i would be on board but he has done wonders for the farm system and is even going against his "plan" by pursing(it may just be rumors, although i doubt it) a few big name guys, hopefully Dunn or Teixiera and Burnett.
