South Carolina spring game preview

I joined Mark Rogers to discuss South Carolina's spring practice, including Brison Williams' work at cornerback, Busta Anderson's triceps injury, and Mike Matulis' surprising emergence at right guard. I also open the emotional wound that is the 2011 Auburn game. I'm not sure how that happened.

Steve Spurrier speaks after final spring practice

Steve Spurrier talks about his trip to Augusta, Ga. for The Masters and reveals that the off-the-bench pass-catcher will be a local celebrity. He didn't have much to say (or to be asked about, apparently) regarding the football practice that just happened.

Busta Anderson will likely miss all of 2014

South Carolina tight end Busta Anderson had surgery on Tuesday to repair his right triceps brachii and will almost certainly miss the entire 2014 season while healing and rehabilitating the muscles.

Mitch creates separation in backup QB competition

With less than a week left in spring practice, Connor Mitch has emerged as the most likely candidate to back up Dylan Thompson.

Anderson will miss four months with triceps tear

This should put the rising senior on track to return to action just in time for the season opener on August 28. Fortunately for South Carolina, the Gamecocks' tight end reserves are well-stocked. Jerell Adams, Drew Owens, Kelvin Rainey, and Jacob August should give Steve Spurrier plenty of options.

Jadeveon Clowney pro timing day highlights

This is probably the last time you'll ever get to see Jadeveon Clowney running around on the field at Williams-Brice Stadium and discussing said running-around after the fact. Clowney seems a bit more prepared for some of the questions he's being asked about the NFL Draft. I reckon that after being asked "Do you want to be the No. 1 overall draft pick?" a thousand times or so you eventually come up with a pretty good response.

Devin Taylor attends Pro Day wearing shirt with gigantic print of a lion's face

Devin Taylor was always one of the more interestingly-shirted Gamecocks during his five years in the South Carolina football program and it appears that two seasons in the NFL has done nothing to subdue his eccentricities. Praise be.

Spurrier reveals identity as interstellar war lord

The Head Ball Coach reached into his bag of tricks and pulled out a CLASSIC April Fools prank.

College football players need a union

There are plenty of perfectly valid reasons to be against unionized labor, but they don't apply to the situation currently facing college athletes.

S.C. assembly passes resolution honoring Spurrier

The South Carolina General Assembly did a good job of writing down some things that Steve Spurrier has done recently.

No. 1 prospect A'ja Wilson will announce college decision on April 16

The No. 1 women's basketball prospect in the 2014 class is right in South Carolina's backyard. A'ja Wilson of Columbia (S.C.) Heathwood Hall Episcopal School will announce her college choice on April 16. She is expected to decide between South Carolina, UConn, Tennessee, and North Carolina.

Defensive position battles rage on into mid-spring

After another day of spring practice, the position battles at defensive back and defensive end come more clearly into focus.

If you didn't already like Tyrone Johnson, you will after watching this video. Take a look at the rising senior's long road back from a broken foot suffered this winter in College Station.

After graduating from South Carolina in 2009, Meredith was taken in the fifth round of the NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. He bounced around from Buffalo to Detroit, New York, and Pittsburgh before landing with the Bucs in 2012.
