Blog a Bull (UPDATE: Pax says no deal?) Kobe's talks stalled and *NOT* because they won't include Deng

[Update: Paxson talked to the media after practice today, and I couldn't transcribe Pax's exact words but Pax more-or-less said they talked to the Lakers but the talks are done for now. Or kindof done for now. I guess your interpretation depends on how much you want to believe it's done, one way or another.]

I'm so turned around on this that I have no sense of when to roll it into another thread so I'll leave that up to our omnipetent lourde, Matt.  And just to satisfy him, I offer the latest from Chris Sheridan and what he "has learned" from the crafty ESPN "Sources"....

Just because there seemed to be some heated debate about this last year, I thought I'd relate a little something I saw last night.  Despite the title, this is not a real basketball topic.

Blog a Bull Tyson's No Chicken

Sounds like big guy Ty expects to suit up, as he should.  Short of Migraine Headache, Tyson should make like the Black Knight of "Monty Pythons: Holy Grail" fame and keep up the fight no matter how badly he's hurting ("It's merely a flesh wound")

Blog a Bull Random Editorial Thoughts...

Caught these tidbits in a couple of the local rags... ...nothing like a blowout loss to ignite talk of the off-season.  By the way, the Bulls looked like Sh-Ite Saturday night.
The first article talks about Pryzbilla and/or Harrington being on our radar.  I put in the Noah bit just to be an ass (it's my version of a Paul Pierce trade rumor).
The second article is from Matt's Man Sam and actually is a decent read.  Not too many outlandish ideas.  I've included a poll to get a gauge on the idea of trading a pick for Jason Richardson or Corey Maggette.

Poll
In your opinion <insert choice here> seems like a good move
J-Rich is worthless and, as a matter of fact, so are you cook-ting

Trade our early pick for Jason Richardson

What!?! Isn't Maggette on his third knee.. ...not worth a trade!

Trade our latter pick for J-Rich

Didn't someone say that Dwight Gooden would be available?

Wait, I thought Jud Beuchler would be better

Blog a Bull Building on it

Promoted from the diaries. Some good discussion in the subsequent comments, regarding the maligned yet most likely course of the offseason: keeping the 2 picks and signing a couple midlevel FAs. -Matt

Building on the draft talk, I thought it might be cool to talk free agents.

Blog a Bull Throwin' it down

Nice little link I caught with the the Ten Best In-Game Dunks.  The Jordan is a beauty if only because of the Knicks reaction.  Scottie's is sweet but he did seem like a bit of pansy trying to act tough after it.  And the Kemp one was sweet.  I still think he was the toughest player against the Bulls in any of their great play-off runs.  Anyways, enjoy.

Blog a Bull my man sam

i don't much care for sam smith, i actually think he sucks ass.  however, i just caught his latest "a trade that will cure all that ails us" article and... ..i didn't disagree, entirely.
gordon, pike, T.thomas and a first for ray allen, nick collison and danny fortson.  if we can pull that off with our later first rounder or change the first rounder for noce (thereby clearing us to draft morrison), i think you make that trade.  the only possible downsides are 1) age: allen is no in his thirties, will he lock down the 2 for the remainder of his contract (i think yes) 2) 'tude: neither allen or fortson have been accused of being team-first players.
i think that the only question is would the sonics ever really be stupid enough to make this trade?  if so, why?
what do you guys think?

Blog a Bull might as well...

...talk draft picks after a loss, right?  Has anybody followed many Pitt games this year?  They have some 7 foot 270 center that's averaging a double-double.  He went off for like 20 and 10 agains UConn last night which caught my attention.  Apparently, he was a fatty that finally dedicated himself and is playing well.  It seems to me that a big body in the paint would be really helpful for this team, anybody care to share thoughts?
Also, has anybody seen this guy play?  I finally saw Aldridge in action and I wasn't overly impressed (although, he did have some J. O'Neal-esque post moves).

Blog a Bull Stat Line

So, I'm reading about the Knicks loss to the Kings and I see Eddy's stat line - 17 pts and 10 boards.  I actually delude myself into thinking "wow, maybe he and Tyson are coming on at the same time".  ..of course, reviewing the box score reveals that he also contributed SIX turnovers.  Whatta hoser!
I love it that the Knicks woes actually pays tangible dividends for Bulls' fans.  I mean, I kinda feel bad for the fans b/c they are loyal (and I love how they literally rule draft night-always a personal joy to witness).  Still though, it's awesome to actually get something back from every Knicks loss.  It rules!

Blog a Bull Steven A. Smith

Before I get to the point, does anybody else like the concept of Steven A. Smith being paired with Sam Smith for a sweet, half-hour show?  What could it be called "Mr. Smith's Go To Crazyton", "Load-a-Bull"?
Ok, on to the point.  Last night's ESPN pregame show had a nice Knicks' morsel courtesy of the aforementioned Smith.  He quoted Isiah (sp?) as saying that he liked the Knicks' defense.  Is there anything (aside from an 0-3 record) to support this?  The impression I have of their team (I've done no research to back this up), is that they pile up stats but not wins.  While they may have some numbers on defense, they never add up to a good defense.

Blog a Bull Play on Magloire

I'm curious as to why the Bulls didn't make a play on Magloire.  I have some concerns about his attitude which is obviously consideration #1 on a J-Paxson/Skiles led team.  However, the Bucks didn't seem to give up too much to land him.  I'm curious what everybody else thinks of the trade and why the Bulls did not make an aggressive bid.
