I think it's fairly obvious to anyone who has followed this team this year, that the Titan's most glaring need is for a big play wide reciever. This becomes especially true if the Titans are able to re-sign Haynesworth, and if Pac-Man can finally get his act together. Seing as our first round pick this year will hopefully be near the very end of the round, Mario Manningham and some of the other 'electric' wide recievers will probably be off the board. This leaves the Titans with two real options that I feel would fit this team the best, those being Adarius Bowman (OSU) and Limus Sweed (Texas). I know that a lot of people are in love with Sweed because of the Texas connection with Vince and some of his highlight reel catches, but after looking at some film of Bowman and watching a bit of the Insight bowl I'm pretty convinced that he can and will be a star in the NFL.

Firstly, The Measurables:
Height: 6'4" - Weight: 220lbs - 40 Time: 4.53 - 40 Low: 4.48 - 40 High: 4.62

These numbers put Bowman right in the mold of the young big wide recievers that have been having a such success in the NFL as of late. In fact, Bowman is physically almost identical to Marques Colston, Brandon Marshall, and Dwayne Bowe.

Colston - 6'4" 231 lbs, 4.55 on the 40
Marshall - 6'4" 230 lbs, 4.52 on the 40
Bowe - 6'3" 221lbs, 4.51 on the 40

It's no secret that these young recievers have had standout careers thus far, and all indications point to their future success. Bowman looks to follow in their footsteps, and I would really rather the Titans didn't pass on him as they have those three recievers.

Secondly, The Intangibles:
Adarius Bowman has two other unique and key features that work heavily favor of him being a star in the NFL. The first of these is his blocking ability. After watching the first half of the Insight Bowl, I saw Bowman hold blocks on corners, safeties, and linebackers with an effectiveness that reminded me a lot of Hines Ward, and seeing as how much this team likes to run the ball, having an effective blocking wide reciever on the outside is an invaluable asset. Another key factor is the fact that his wide recievers coach is the same man who coached Randy Moss at Marshall. While this may seem like an insignificant detail, it must be remembered that Randy Moss came into the league as one of the most NFL ready recievers that the game has ever seen. He posted record breaking rookie touchdown numbers with 17, and was third in the league with over 1300 yards that year. While it is unlikely that Bowman would produce numbers quite like that, it is at least helpful to know that he has a coach who knows how to get recievers ready for the league.

So, come on Mike Reinfeldt, get us a play maker!
