Gaylord Texan
Howdy,
I'm a student at Texas A&M and I'm going to our game in Dallas at Cowboys Stadium this Saturday against Arkansas. I grabbed some tickets to the Titans game since I'll be in the area.
I've been to a lot of games before, and I used to stay at the team hotel, which was the Marriott. In the morning, when the players were leaving, they'd sign autographs as they got to their cars and stuff.
I understand the team hotel is now the Gaylord Texan. Does anyone know if this still happens? Or maybe just some tips for going?
Thanks!
Trouble in Paradise
ESPN is claiming that TO has a problem with Witten getting more catches than him.
Ok so this is exactly what we need right now. TO fighting with Romo and Witten. WHY HAS THIS YEAR BEEN SO CRAZY? This week's game is going to be a real test. If TO doesn't get on the same page as everybody else we could be in real trouble. How are we supposed to win with people's attitudes like this?
Favre asks to be released
as per espn.com
Roy Williams earns NFL's 2nd most dirtiest player title
In a recent vote of NFL head coaches by ESPN.com, the dirtiest players were announced. To no surprise, Rodney Harrison earned numero uno. I was a little surprised to see that Roy was 2nd on this one. I'd say he's a tad bit dirty, but nowhere near enought he 2nd dirtiest player in the league.
Should we pick Gradkowski up?
I know he's kind of young, but I'd think about signing him. I mean, Brad Johnson is a veteran QB, but he's not getting any younger. Just a topic for debate.
Don McLean would be proud
Hey guys, my dad's friend sent me this. Thought it was kind of funny. Gotta admire her loyalty at least...
Walsh turns in 8 tapes to NFL
It's about time. I'm ready to see some punishment handed out. I know the list here isn't too heavy, but the 2002 AFC Championship game! Come on!
Favre fan retires faded No. 4 after 1,581 days
Daaaaaang. This kid speaks volumes for the definition of a devoted fan. I thought I was big and mighty just because I wear my T.O. jersey for the whole game day. Props to this kid.
Another NFL Player in trouble...
AUSTIN, Texas -- Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson failed a sobriety test while operating a 30-foot boat, then resisted arrest before being hit with pepper spray and dragged ashore by officers.
Wow, first the Marvin Harrison deal and now this. It's crazy how these guys find themselves in such predicaments.
Brett Favre - Madden 09 Cover

Patriots still pursuing perfection
This is absurd. You lost. You're 18-1.
Belicheat must have some cameras in place already if he plans to be perfect this season.
Arizona Cardinal Anquan Boldin looking for a new nest?
You think Chad Johnson is the only WR who wants out of his current contract?
WRONG.
Boldin recently met with Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt and informed him that he would like to be traded. The Cardinals told Boldin they were unwilling to trade him, but would consider exploring the possibility of a new contract with him.
Personally, I think we should tug at Arizona. I think they're more inclined to let loose than Detroit would be concerning Roy Williams, the good one. His contract situation is $2.5 million this season, $2.75 million next season and $3 million in 2010. I'm sure by next week we'll be in negotiations with Arizona, ah, the silly season.

Pacman at it again
First of all, let it be known that I didn't know whether to use a FanPost or FanShot. Please excuse me Grizz if this type of thing is more worthy of a FanShot.
I now pronounce you, Manning and wife.
Eli got married yesterday. To his college sweetheart, apparently? (They're 27 and 24 respectively)
Congrats. to the dude. He's had a stellar year. SB champs, got the monkey off his back, and now has a wife to share it all with.
Let's just hope he gets the same effect people believe Jessica have on Romo. =)
"Dallas is where I want to be." -Pacman Jones
"This is where I want to be, and hope it'll work out in the long run and it'll happen real quick," he said. "It's obvious Jerry does give people a second chance. He has a great heart. Hopefully, I can get one of those second chances."
More info on Pacman and his show with Irvin. It's a pretty good read. Personally, I hope we grab this guy. I think he's turned over a new leaf and is ready to make some plays in the secondary.
T.O. New NFL icon?
With the retirement of Favre, apparently the NFL needs a new "American Idol." James Black over at Yahoo Sports thinks T.O. could be it.
The Dallas Cowboys receiver has been the subject of controversy and scrutiny perhaps more than any player in the past five years not named Pacman Jones or Michael Vick. But like Moss, teams have continued to bid for his services when he’s been available and he has still maintained a healthy fan base.
Moss close to deal with Pats
Ok everybody, calm down. Looks like Moss is going to stay in NE. The contract is just being finalized.
The New England Patriots and Randy Moss are finalizing terms on a three year, $27 million deal, a source told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
The two sides are currently in the process of reviewing contract details, the source told ESPN.
Falcons land Michael Turner
I know there was some speculation about us maybe going after this guy. After all, he was said to be the best FA RB this year. Anyway, he's off the market now. Tatum Bell is still an option, and the the draft is deep at RB so maybe it was all for the best.
Michael Turner, who has been the Chargers' insurance policy for LaDainian Tomlinson, agreed to a six-year, $34.5 million contract with the Falcons, with $15 million guaranteed, a source told ESPN.com's Michael Smith.
St. Louis waives Isaac Bruce
ST. LOUIS -- For the second time in three years, the St. Louis Rams released wide receiver Isaac Bruce. This time they may be cutting ties for good with the last player remaining from the team's 1995 move from Los Angeles to St. Louis.
Maybe Dallas takes a look at him? Just throwing it out there. I know this is going to make silverblue happy. =)
I know, I know...too old. Lost a step. Blah blah blah. Just posting in order to spike some dialogue from you guys.
Also, great news about Flo!
Zach Thomas #55 jerseys on sale...kind of
"That's right!"
Somewhere Bobby Carpenter is muttering those exact same words. And just when you think everything's back to normal, and all is right in the world once again, they throw a curveball at you.
Thomas Jerseys will be produced and ship within 4 days after number is determined. * #55 subject to change. *
New Helmets?
So evidently, there's a new helmet in the works. It's called, "The Gladiator" and helps to reduce possibilty of concussions and stuff. Personally, I don't like it, it's way too big.
The NFL season is over, but Uni Watch is already thinking ahead to next season, because there may be a major new development on the helmet scene. According to the cover story in a recent issue of Machine Design magazine, the upstart Protective Sports Equipment company -- the same firm that brought us the ProCap anti-concussion accessory, which was worn by Steve Wallace and Mark Kelso back in the 1990s -- is working with the league to develop a new helmet concept, called the Gladiator.
Romo IS at the Pro Bowl
I know we were all wondering whether Romo was there or not, due to the rumor of him playing at Pebble Beach. I actually have no evidence that he's there, but I just saw him through Total Access. They were just showing all the players around and he was there talking to Hasselbeck I think. I'll try to look for something online.
Pro-Bowlers out
I just saw in ESPN that Brady was to be replaced by Browns QB Derek Anderson and that Antonio Gates was to be replaced by Browns TE Kellen Winslow next week in Hawaii. I fully understand Gates' position, being injured and what not; however, Brady is just as classless as Belibaby. I haven't found an article yet that supports this, I'm currently working on it. Also, I had heard a few weeks back Romo may play in a celebrity golf tournament as opposed to taking his spot in Hawaii. I'll try to update later.
Update [2008-2-4 16:26:21 by CowboyBawler4]: I just found some textual evidence. This story talks about Brady and Gates being substitued by Anderson and Winslow. In latest news, Moss is out, too! This is completely embarassing for the Patriots organization. Speaking as a fan only, I would consider it an honor to be selected to the Pro Bowl. For these two to decline their invitations with the game being less than a week away because they're sore losers is completely disrespectable. Looks like their coach taught 'em well.
T.O. out $800k
According to Espn...
An arbitrator has ruled for the Philadelphia Eagles in their case against Terrell Owens, meaning the Cowboys wide receiver owes his former team nearly $800,000 in signing bonus money, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
Wow, sounds like T.O's got some splainin to do.
BCS Championship
I know this is a Cowboys blog, but I thought it'd be interesting to get you guys' take on tonight's game. Personally, being a Texas native, am pulling for the neighboring Tigers. Also, this game gives us another chance to scout our possible draft picks. And does anybody remember where we were a year ago? Wanting to kill ourselves after that freaking wild card game against Seattle. Not this year, baby!
Belichik AP Coach of the year
What a bunch of bull. Yea, the dude's got skills; however, I don't think they were "coach of the year" deserving. I think Jack Del Rio or Jon Gruden deserve it the most. This is just another notch on the patriot belt of success this year. I can't wait for them to lose...
Giants ready for battle
As you all know,
our once hated rivals have become the NFL's only hope of defending history. Tom Coughlin says, here, that he's starting his starters. I know that we all want the Pats to lose, but is this a wise move for the Giants organization?
Obviously we are impartial because we want the Giants to lose in the playoffs, but I think it is a good move. They would've gotten a lot of flack had they not done it.
What do you guys think?
Green Bay will go to any length
My dad told me that he heard on ESPN that the Milwaukee Sentinel, a local paper in Wisconsin, has a surprise in store for Romo. They printed up 50,000 faces of Jessica Simpson's head and put it on a stick for fans to stick up at the game Saturday. I don't have anything to prove this yet, I'm trying to find the article.
So what do you guys think of Green Bay? Clever, or cheap shot?
Bobby Petrino resigns from Atlanta Falcons
Bobby Petrino, the former Atlanta Falcons head coach, resigned a little while ago. He was only 13 games into the season, and lost on Monday night. Evidently, he knew that would be his last game. He's on his wasy to Arkansas, too bad McFadden's gone...
The conference is on Wednesday for anyone who cares to watch.
Wow, 13 games. Great season Bobby.
