Trade down for Alabama LB Dont'a Hightower
From Tim Mac, so not sure how legitimate this is. Seems more like speculation. However, I wouldn't be against this scenario if the beginning of the draft sees many of our targets off the board - as long as we draft him to play outside and not inside.
Tyron Smith to LT
This isn't really news, but it is the first time I've seen someone reference JG when speaking about moving Tyron Smith to LT.
Glad it's out there. Tyron is going to be a stud LT, and this only helps Doug Free... hopefully this takes him back to'09 '10 form.
Dallas Cowboys Replica Jersey's
Don't know how long it's been going on, but the mothership has a 70% off sale on Cowboy's replica jersey's... $24.99
Ware, Romo, Murray, Dez, Austin, Lee and ROY WILLIIAMS?? haha
Personally, i'm going to go with Lee and the throwback Dez... already have throwback Romo and blue Austin
2012 blueprint for success... It all starts with Mr. Romo
Hello folks. I've been a member on this blog for many a year. I comment occasionally, more-so on game days and during the draft. Occasionally i'll write up a fanshot. But for the most part, i enjoy coming to this blog for the articles on the front page, the quality content in the fan posts, and to see what the rest of Cowboys nation is feeling.
This is my first fanpost in a long time. What makes me want to write a fan post? The fact that our team has something very special. It's not required for success, but it's a darn good piece of the puzzle to have solved. What piece am I talking about exactly?

Asante Samuel Out Saturday
Asante Samuel is out for the game tomorrow. Not sure if this is a positive or negative, bc he bites on the double move like nobody. Not glad he is out (or injured), but i guess this is a positive as they are less 1 playmaker on defense.
This leaves them with Namdi, DRC on the outside, and Joselio Hanson in the slot. I like our odds, as long as our Oline holds up.
Vick and Eagles agree to 6 years, 100 million dollar contract
really? he's a good quarterback and all, but seriously... this kind of money? 40 mil guaranteed? this strikes me as a bad move... considering vick's age and his best asset is his legs...
Eric Weddle in the mix
Hope this happens, with a combo of Elam/Huff... these 2 moves would automatically make our corners that much better... Pleeeeease, pleeeeeease, pleeeeeease... i've wanted competent safety play for years!!! (we all have!!!!)
Bears DT Tommie Harris released
I feel like he would be the perfect complement to Rat...
Over/Under Demarcus Ware sack total this weekend
What would you take on this... Over/Under 2 1/2 sacks for DWare against rookie redskin trent williams.... i'll take the over
"Roy came out on fire today," Jenkins said. "That's the best I've seen Roy since he got here. He looked like a No. 1 receiver. "
THIS IS WHY I LOVE JAY RATLIFF
"
One of the best defensive players of the game Sunday night was once again Jay Ratliff, who has arguably been the unit’s best player thorugh the first half of the season. Ratliff had two sacks against the Eagles, but also was stellar against the run, especially in the second half.Wade Phillips told the media a story from halftime of Sunday’s game when Ratliff was overly hard on himself for his run-stopping performance in the first half.
"At halftime, we came in and he says, ‘My fault on the running game,’" Phillips recalled about Ratliff. "And I said, ‘No it isn’t your fault.’ He jumps back at me and said ‘ITS MY FAULT’ I said, ‘Ok it’s your fault.’ But he said he would get it corrected. And sure enough they had 16 yards rushing in the second half, so it wasn’t all his fault, he played some things different second half than he did in first half."

Plans and jersey choice for the game?? prediction?
This is the biggest game so far of the short season. It will let the cowboys know how far they have come, and what they need to improve on for the second half of the season. Since it's such a big occasion, just wondering what everyone is planning (food, parties, beer) and what jersey ya'll chose.
I'm wearing my blue throwback romo jersey, hoping for a turnoverless game from #9. I got 2 dozen wings ready to put in the oven and a case of miller genuine draft.
LETS GO COWBOYS!!!
Also... i predict... cowboys 30 eagles 24
close game, comes down to defensive pressure hurrying mcnabb and disrupting philly's offense in the second half
banta-cain?
is this guy any good? just asking cause we are scarey thin at olb... could he be good for depth?? does he have any skill?
Shawn Andrews out for year, put on IR
Shawn Andrews is out for the year

Jags bag holt
Jaguars land Torry Holt...
wilcat?
Does anyone know if any coaches on the offense have experience with the wildcat offense, or something similar? Just wondering if its a possibility now that TO is gone, we'll prolly need to add to our arsenal of attacks.
What could we get for MB3?
could we get a first? if we can, than i say go for it...
dont get me wrong, i love marion barber... love him... loved him as a backup, loved him as a starter... didn't love him so much after he got injured and played out of his manor... but still, no hard feelings for the injury...
but with Felix Jones showing he is a playmaker...and t choice showing he can carry the load (and then some), why not let barber go and pick our first rd pick back up? now i don't know what we could get for him, and im not pretending to know, but if we could get a first (and i think we could???? my opinion) why not?
we have youth at the position, and skill no doubt... i can live with thunder and lighting in stead of thunder lighting and earthquake or whatever...we don't need a natural disastor in the backfield... we need quality playmakers who earn big chunks of yards (felix jones check, t choice 10+ yard runs check)
we can use that first round pick to go get a quality lineman, quality safety possibly, maybe if a starting quality corner falls to us than why not, how about a quality d end or nose tackle??? shoot depending on where we are in the draft, we could trade down and pick up another second or third withour pick, and still draft a quality player towards the end of the first....
what im saying is we need to be smart, instead of being glutonous (sp?) at one position, why not trade away our known commodity and pick up solid players in the draft (with what we did last year in the draft, I want all the picks we can get!)
(one thing i just thought of, how hard would he be to trade with his recent contract??)
BWARE of DWARE: Prediction
ok... dream scenario:
Saturday night, when the Cowboys defend Texas Stadium for one last time, would it not be spectacular to see Demarcus Ware rack up 4 sacks and break Strahans record in front of all the former greats coming back for the game. Although it isn't something i would bet on, I certainly would not bet against it.
This post is a thank you to Texas Stadium, all the players coaches and fans that made it special, and good luck to Demarcus Ware and the Cowboys.
PREDICTION: COWBOYS - 17
RAVENS - 9
DWARE: 4.5 sacks
Excited about the game and prediction...
With all the ups and downs, injuries and off the field news, i don't remember the last time I was this excited for a Cowboys game this year? Don't get me wrong, I watched every game I could, (couldn't see 2 or 3 games that weren't on tv) but I havent been this excited since the preseason... when the offense was clicking, and we were being considered super bowl favorites...
but this weekend, playing against top notch competition, in prime football conditions... i can truly say i am on the edge of my seat on WEDNESDAY reading up everything i can about the game on SUNDAY! so, without further ado, here is what I am looking forward to this weekend...
1) This is the week we can prove we are worthy of making the playoffs, and a push for the ship... we must harness every oz of momentum we have earned with the last few cupcakes, and deliver on Sunday in front of a National Audience and infront of one of the loudest, craziest stadiums in the league.
2) Can big Gurode and BIGG Davis take care of and move aside big casey Hampden(sp)... if they can get a big push against the staple of the Steelers line, chances are mb3 (hopefully) or Choice will pull off big games, because they can cut and make nice hard runs...
3) How will the weather affect Romo? our receivers? This worries me a bit, seeing as how we haven't played intoo many bad weather games... but what is nice, is even in the bad weather, i have witnessed Romo make game saving drives... so while this worries me, i know that if we are down 3 with a little over a minute to go, I have faith that Romo and all his weapons will make plays and at the very least, put us in a position to tie the game... (and in a game like this, i can see it coming down to the last drive)
4) Normally I don't like these play calls, but the quick wr screen to Owens out wide might play a critical role... in weather like what is expected, if Romo can get the ball to Owens in a hurry, i bet that he can put a move on the db's (one quick little juke, down goes the db, and owens is off to the races... well at least a first down)
5) oh yes, our defense... only one thing worries me about this steeler offense... and believe it or not, its nate washington... hes' got speed and kind of reminds of santana moss... if he gets matched in the slot with scandrick, or outside with pac, it will be interesting to see how they play against him... although ward is a great route runner, he doesn't scare me so much outside of the ten yard line...
5b) i'd love to see our front 7match its intensity from last week... there is nothing more im hoping for than to walk out of the first quarter up 17, with 4 sacks, a fumble recovery and an interception... ok ok, i'lll be more realistic... as long as our defense keeps us within a 1 score difference if we do get behind, im confident in Romo finding one of Witten, Bennet (glad to say that, and glad to say great pick mr Jerry Jones), OWENS WILLIAMS CRAYTON BARBER CHOICE... have i mentioned im excited about this weekend?
6) and here is my prediction...
Very tough, gritty first half... a lot of character from both teams, just straight up going back and forth... a few big pass plays for each, with a few big defense plays for each... great adjustments at half time by the coaching staff, and a surprise punt return for td by PAC (sorry i had to include him, bc i realistically see him breaking one with the team full of momentum)... and the final score is...
DAL - 24
PIT - 14
hand the reigns over to romo...
The cowboys need to be running shotgun against the skins... a lot. We need to come out firing. Romo is a stud qb, he's got the arm, he's got the weapons... it will help protect our line. it will get our weapons on the field. it will open up holes for barber, jones throughout the game... imagine the possibilities.... not only could we pass, we could set up brilliant screens, draws... shoot even dives with mb and tosses/jet sweeps with fj or mb....
Just imagine the idea of sending TO and RW deep on the sides, JW up the seam.. and then boom, fj middle screen or any screen... 20+ yards....
these formations can change through motion, play action, direct snap, etc etc...

Everyone just needs to relax, recompose...
The Cowboys are still the team we thought they'd be at the beginning of the season... they have just been masked by injuries and poor playcalling/coaching. Look, when your prime time gunslinging qb goes down... and your offense is built for him... your bound to suffer.
All we need to fix is one thing... o line. Flo, Kosier (hopefully), Gurode, Bigg, Columbo. 5 guys who can make it a lot easier for us to squeeze into the playoffs. They need to be spending every minute off the field in the classroom to see what they are doing wrong. To see where they can all improve. Hudson needs to call everyone he knows and ask for suggestions, old coaches who have been in this situation... he needs help. (so does campo, he should be calling up any help he can find) If they step it up, like they did for the first few games... then walah... out comes the number one ranked offense we should be sporting right now if not for injuries. Romo comes back, Barber gets yards, Felix gets yards (shoot, even t choice should get yards just to keep mb and fj fresh all game... don't tell me he isn't as good as derrick ward or bradshaw for the gmen, and they have no problems finding them all touches... mb 3 20 touches, fj 10 touches, t choice 3-5 touches)... all of a sudden the deep routes open up for T.O. and REW... all of a sudden Crayton and Witten and tellus open up underneath... all of a sudden our defense isn't on the field for the majority of the quarters bc our offense turns the ball over or goes three and out... all of a sudden our defense tackles better bc they aren't dead tired... all of a sudden, our cb's can press bc they haven't been on the field for the 7 8 10 minutes at a time...
its not rocket science wade, garret, hudson, campo.... do everything in your power to solidify that o line... it will make everything else fall into place a lot easier...
