THIS IS WHY I LOVE JAY RATLIFF
"
One of the best defensive players of the game Sunday night was once again Jay Ratliff, who has arguably been the unit’s best player thorugh the first half of the season. Ratliff had two sacks against the Eagles, but also was stellar against the run, especially in the second half.

Wade Phillips told the media a story from halftime of Sunday’s game when Ratliff was overly hard on himself for his run-stopping performance in the first half.

"At halftime, we came in and he says, ‘My fault on the running game,’" Phillips recalled about Ratliff. "And I said, ‘No it isn’t your fault.’ He jumps back at me and said ‘ITS MY FAULT’ I said, ‘Ok it’s your fault.’ But he said he would get it corrected. And sure enough they had 16 yards rushing in the second half, so it wasn’t all his fault, he played some things different second half than he did in first half."

Plans and jersey choice for the game?? prediction?

This is the biggest game so far of the short season. It will let the cowboys know how far they have come, and what they need to improve on for the second half of the season. Since it's such a big occasion, just wondering what everyone is planning (food, parties, beer) and what jersey ya'll chose.

I'm wearing my blue throwback romo jersey, hoping for a turnoverless game from #9. I got 2 dozen wings ready to put in the oven and a case of miller genuine draft.

LETS GO COWBOYS!!!

Also... i predict... cowboys 30 eagles 24

close game, comes down to defensive pressure hurrying mcnabb and disrupting philly's offense in the second half

wilcat?

Does anyone know if any coaches on the offense have experience with the wildcat offense, or something similar? Just wondering if its a possibility now that TO is gone, we'll prolly need to add to our arsenal of attacks.

What could we get for MB3?

could we get a first? if we can, than i say go for it...

dont get me wrong, i love marion barber... love him... loved him as a backup, loved him as a starter... didn't love him so much after he got injured and played out of his manor... but still, no hard feelings for the injury...

but with Felix Jones showing he is a playmaker...and t choice showing he can carry the load (and then some), why not let barber go and pick our first rd pick back up? now i don't know what we could get for him, and im not pretending to know, but if we could get a first (and i think we could???? my opinion) why not?

we have youth at the position, and skill no doubt... i can live with thunder and lighting in stead of thunder lighting and earthquake or whatever...we don't need a natural disastor in the backfield... we need quality playmakers who earn big chunks of yards (felix jones check, t choice 10+ yard runs check)

we can use that first round pick to go get a quality lineman, quality safety possibly, maybe if a starting quality corner falls to us than why not, how about a quality d end or nose tackle??? shoot depending on where we are in the draft, we could trade down and pick up another second or third withour pick, and still draft a quality player towards the end of the first....

what im saying is we need to be smart, instead of being glutonous (sp?) at one position, why not trade away our known commodity and pick up solid players in the draft (with what we did last year in the draft, I want all the picks we can get!)

(one thing i just thought of, how hard would he be to trade with his recent contract??)

BWARE of DWARE: Prediction

ok... dream scenario:

Saturday night, when the Cowboys defend Texas Stadium for one last time, would it not be spectacular to see Demarcus Ware rack up 4 sacks and break Strahans record in front of all the former greats coming back for the game. Although it isn't something i would bet on, I certainly would not bet against it.

This post is a thank you to Texas Stadium, all the players coaches and fans that made it special, and good luck to Demarcus Ware and the Cowboys.

PREDICTION: COWBOYS - 17
                    RAVENS     - 9

DWARE: 4.5 sacks

Excited about the game and prediction...

With all the ups and downs, injuries and off the field news, i don't remember the last time I was this excited for a Cowboys game this year? Don't get me wrong, I watched every game I could, (couldn't see 2 or 3 games that weren't on tv) but I havent been this excited since the preseason... when the offense was clicking, and we were being considered super bowl favorites...

but this weekend, playing against top notch competition, in prime football conditions... i can truly say i am on the edge of my seat on WEDNESDAY reading up everything i can about the game on SUNDAY! so, without further ado, here is what I am looking forward to this weekend...

1) This is the week we can prove we are worthy of making the playoffs, and a push for the ship... we must harness every oz of momentum we have earned with the last few cupcakes, and deliver on Sunday in front of a National Audience and infront of one of the loudest, craziest stadiums in the league.

2) Can big Gurode and BIGG Davis take care of and move aside big casey Hampden(sp)... if they can get a big push against the staple of the Steelers line, chances are mb3 (hopefully) or Choice will pull off big games, because they can cut and make nice hard runs...

3) How will the weather affect Romo? our receivers? This worries me a bit, seeing as how we haven't played intoo many bad weather games... but what is nice, is even in the bad weather, i have witnessed Romo make game saving drives... so while this worries me, i know that if we are down 3 with a little over a minute to go, I have faith that Romo and all his weapons will make plays and at the very least, put us in a position to tie the game... (and in a game like this, i can see it coming down to the last drive)

4) Normally I don't like these play calls, but the quick wr screen to Owens out wide might play a critical role... in weather like what is expected, if Romo can get the ball to Owens in a hurry, i bet that he can put a move on the db's (one quick little juke, down goes the db, and owens is off to the races... well at least a first down)

5) oh yes, our defense... only one thing worries me about this steeler offense... and believe it or not, its nate washington... hes' got speed and kind of reminds of santana moss... if he gets matched in the slot with scandrick, or outside with pac, it will be interesting to see how they play against him... although ward is a great route runner, he doesn't scare me so much outside of the ten yard line...

5b) i'd love to see our front 7match its intensity from last week... there is nothing more im hoping for than to walk out of the first quarter up 17, with 4 sacks, a fumble recovery and an interception... ok ok, i'lll be more realistic... as long as our defense keeps us within a 1 score difference if we do get behind, im confident in Romo finding one of Witten, Bennet (glad to say that, and glad to say great pick mr Jerry Jones), OWENS WILLIAMS CRAYTON BARBER CHOICE... have i mentioned im excited about this weekend?

6) and here is my prediction...

Very tough, gritty first half... a lot of character from both teams, just straight up going back and forth... a few big pass plays for each, with a few big defense plays for each... great adjustments at half time by the coaching staff, and a surprise punt return for td by PAC (sorry i had to include him, bc i realistically see him breaking one with the team full of momentum)... and the final score is...

DAL - 24
PIT   - 14
