A sample of the article from Mr. I's blog:

Apparently, here’s the latest sign that the Nationals will soon be forced to pack up shop and leave D.C.: Their radio ratings are awful. (This is totally shocking because, a) AM/FM radio is doing so well right now, b) how could anyone not wanna listen to a 100-loss team play?) This comes on the heels of the news earlier this summer that their TV ratings are horrible, which was a huge shocker seeing as they’re almost entirely relegated to MASN2, a channel that may actually exist, despite the fact that I’ve never seen it.

Lets Play You're the Head Coach (poll) One More Roster cut

First thing first, LB Matt Sinclair is the latest Redskin to turn in his playbook. Cindy Boren of Redskins Insider with the news:

He bumped into Jason Reid and Paul Tenorio at Redskins Park and told them he has three fractures in a lumbar vertebra (the L-5; we are seeking a little medical clarification on that). "They let me go," he said. "It's going to be at least three months so they had to make room on the roster."

I had heard he was injured and could miss some serious time so I guess the team waited for clarification and when they got it, well down comes the ax. By my count the Redskins have to cut one more player to 75 by 4 p.m. Tuesday and then the big roster trim to 53 by 4 p.m. Saturday. Again why is Derek Devine still on this team?

It's better to just try and forget about our last preseason game against Carolina. In my best Forrest Gump voice: "and that's all I'm going to say about that". Maybe so but don't tell Coach Zorn & Antwaaan Randle EL that. Coach Zorn said after the teams performance that the starters better prepare to see some playing time. I'm glad ARE thought: "Yeah, no doubt we have to do this," and "With the way we played, it's just the right thing to do."

It's great to see that Washington Redskins players have pride and want to hit the regular season with some momentum but for me one series that looks like our starters have rhythm is enough. Last week has horrid I know, but I'm not sure risking injury is worth whatever possible momentum obtained by a good drive in the preseason. How would you gameplan?

First set of cuts are in

[Note by Skin Patrol, 08/25/08 9:59 AM EDT ] Promoted, enjoy.

From the Redskins Insider

The Redskins have released three players: Vernon Fox, Babatunde Oshinowo and Dorian Smith.

To be quite honest the only person on this list I had heard of was saftey Vernon Fox.  Further research shows me that both DE Dorian Smith and DT Oshi..errr Oshen ahh Oshin..whatever haven't been on the team very long at all.  Dorian Smith infact had been signed, released and re-signed Aug. 12 so who knows if he'll be back sometime on a practice squad.

One thing that's interesting to me is why is Derek Devine still occupying a roster spot on this team? With the 80 man roster rule in effect these spots are of higher value than a 4th string QB.

Vernon Fox had been struggling and Kareem Moore and other young members of our secondary have been impressive early. Also Gregg Blache said he was fine rolling with young talent.

The Redskins must release two more players by Tuesday to comply with the league roster limit of 75.

Stop!! You're in the No Fun Zone

ESPN.com'sMatt Mosley bloggs about how Coach Zorn is less then thrilled with Jason Campbell's 4-of-10 for 28 yards performance.

"We had a route that Jason held the ball and we had a vertical outside that was an easy touchdown," Zorn said of Campbell. "Honestly, it was an easy touchdown and we just didn't see it. He didn't focus on it, and then he turned back in and tried to throw the ball over the middle to the tight end [and the route] wasn't there."

What appears to concern coach Zorn the most is that Jason Campbell didn't trust his instincts and it cost the team a possible score. As most of us know the WCO is built around timing passes, and QB's ability to read coverages. Frankly i'm glad this happenend. Why you ask? Well because this is what the preseason is about, making mistakes and correcting them. Second I didn't want the team to feel to good about themselves going into the season and third I like how Zorn handles himself and his players. As much as I've heard how Zorn is constantly in his QB's faces makes me believe that this issue will correct itself.

Matt Mosley hints that Jason Taylor's foot could be a problem:

Via the Washngton Times: Jason Taylor earned defensive player of the year honors in 2006 while enduring painful plantar fasciitis in his right foot. Taylor suffered the same injury last December, one that's still lingering, but the six-time Pro Bowl defensive end refuses to give into the pain.

In the article Taylor mentions that during the week is when his foot hurts the worst and during gameday you take stuff to make the pain go away and that the foot hurts more then the time he broke his arm & collarbone. Damn I hope that this situation doesn't get worse.

Matt Mosley has a mole inside Redskins park.

And this just in: I'm told punter Durant Brooks has a slight edge over Derrick Frost in the hotly contested punting competition.

Let me say this: Durant Brooks had a slight edge when we was drafted in April.

"We looked around and then we see Jim and his wife over at another table with (Washington quarterback) Jason (Campbell) and his girlfriend and you can tell they’re talking about football," Cerrato said. "We just said, ‘Leave him be, let him do his thing.’ "
