Manny's Momma Says It's Okay To Fight In Nov.
According to ESPN.com, Manny Pacquiao is going to fight on Nov. 6 or the 13th at Cowboys Stadium. No opponent has been selected yet.
I don't know about you, but to me that seems like a bad way to begin negotiations for a fight with Mayweather. It's going to be hard enough agreeing on the blood testing procedures between the two fighters, but to come out and say that when he fights it's going to be on this date at this venue is asking for trouble.
On top of that, Manny has played the Momma card. He said it was up to his 'Moms' and she said he could fight one more fight. Hey folks, this fight is not going to happen. I haven't even mentioned Bob "the Slime" yet and already it looks bad. How would you feel if Mayweather had done this? I know a lot on this forum would have said it was a ploy to get out of the fight.
Mosely and the Rematch Clause
People should not make too much of the rematch clause in the Mayweather/Mosely fight. We heard Richardson talk on the last 24/7 about how Floyd will rely on that clause if he is down early in the fight. He suggests that Floyd will pretty much give up, run around the ring and think "I have a rematch clause". I know that Richardson is new to Mosely's camp but I wonder if he knows that's pretty much what Shane did against Winky Wright in the first fight? He had the Wright camp sign a rematch clause, then he got dominated by Wright and preceded to run and not throw many punches. He promptly took Wright up on the rematch several months later. Notice that Mosely is the only one in that camp not making a big deal about the clause. It's a fairly common thing.
