There are a lot of charitable drivers in NASCAR, who donate time and money to help those in need. They do it because they want to make a difference, because it's what is in their hearts to do, they care a lot more than people think or give them credit for. Their not concerned with the way it looks or what people think or the recognition they will get from it, its the furthermost thing from their minds. They see people in need, they see diseases that need a cure, they see children fighting to live and parents who would give everything they have so that their children could out live them . They take time, even if it's only a few minutes , out of their unbelievable busy schedules, to put smiles on peoples faces, and instill hope and leave them with memories to be told over and over again to anyone who will listen about the time they met their hero. It's why I'm a fan and why I love the sport, and why it doesn't bother me anymore that most people think I'm a redneck and make fun of me for watching a bunch of cars that go around in circles, because I know its more than that, its the people who drive those cars that make me proud to be a NASCAR fan.

Today Smoke made me more proud than I have ever been to be his fan, hope the waxing wasn't to bad and that there wasn't to much pain. Don't know any man crazy enough to do what you did. lol

Well, this a day I never wanted to see but it's here and now I have to live with it. Never in a million years did I think that Gibbs would leave Chevy for Toyota but they did. I admit I went through a wide range of emotions prior to and after the announcement, ranging from anger, sadness to apprehension. I think the thing that worried me the most about this move was the unknown, would they win right away or would it take a year or two before they found victory lane? Would they make The Chase? Change is always scary and most NASCAR fans(including me)don't like change of any kind. So today's news may take awhile for me to get use to, besides complaining about it isn't going to change anything. Although Tony Stewart's comments at today's press conference did quell some of my fears and gave me a small glimmer of hope about Toyota's possible performance next year. He's always been honest and never afraid to voice his true feelings. You ask him a question and he does his best to be open and truthful. So hearing that he's excited about this move is somewhat comforting. It tells me that he really believes that this was the right move and the talk of a contract extension also goes to help reinforce this. I also don't think that Gibbs would just jump ship without doing their homework. It's unrealistic to base Toyota's performance from this year with MWR, BDR and Red Bull, these are all third tier teams, while Gibbs in a top tier team who's been a threat for the championship for almost ten years now. I can't see Gibbs waiting around one or two years before they can contend for another championship, like so many believe will happen. I think that next year Gibbs is going to surprise a lot of teams and fans by making The Chase in 08 and being legitimate contenders for the title. The first twenty-six races are going to tell us all we need to know.

OK, I was a little bored tonight and was talking it over with some other NASCAR fans I know and we came up with some of these predictions for Sundays race. Remember they are all it FUN!!!!

Some of our random predictions for this week's Talladega race.

David Ragan will bring out a caution after bouncing off Casey Mears' car, sending them both tearing through the infield.

While coming down pit road under caution Tony Stewart gets hit with a speeding penalty.

Juan Montoya will cause the big one when he goes five wide into a turn 2 with Ryan Newman, Matt Kenseth ,Kasey Kahne, and David Stremme. Taking out Kyle Busch,Jeremy Mayfield, Kyle Petty, David Reutimann, Borris Said and Ward Burton.

Under the caution, DW will talk about his brother and what he thinks Mikey needs to do to get more of his cars into more races and will then proceed to plug every sponsor Mikey has.

After working his way into the top five, Stewart will get hit yet again for speeding on pit road while under a caution, that was brought out after a piece of metal falls from the sky and lands on the track. The blimp drivers over the track, swear they don't know and didn't see anything and refuse to answer any other questions when asked.

Robby Gordon's engine will blow up.

Well, we couldn't agree on whom was going to win and took a vote and we have picked Jimmie Johnson to win. Thats what I get for having so many HMS friends. lol

Anyone else have any predictions? Let me hear them. :P :P :P

What was Jimmy Spencer thinking? Oh wait what am I am thinking that he was thinking anything. Listening to him is like watching someone who eats glass as a cool party trick. I knew a guy, don't ask. I wonder if it was the fear of losing his job or all the death threats he got that made him grovel in front of the TV with his half hearted "I'm sorry". I'm betting it was both.
