Been tailgating with Team KATT since 1997. Took some time off while I was stationed at Ft Hood, Texas. But now I am back and better then ever. (I hope Espn doesnt sue for that)
We are on the Parade Grounds right in front of the steps to the student union every home game.
Come on by challenge us to a game of Holy Board or come take a whack at the Opposing team Pinata.
If your on campus early enough you can listen in to us go live with a Weekly Podcast the Geaux Show, or just stop on by to drink a beer!

8 and half hours to GEAUX!
Well since there is no game and since I was not able to make tailgating for the Moo U game not much to write about LSUwise that is.
HOWEVER in 8 and half hours (see thats the title) I will be pulling up to Womans Hospital in Baton Rouge, bringing my wife so that she can bring another little tiger into the world. They are planning to induce tommorrow morning at 0030. Why so early you might ask...well it seems that there are other people that want their babies born during the bye week also, this was the first avaiable appointment to go in for them to induce when we made it last week. Tommorrow is her due date the doctor just doesnt want to go over that time because of my wifes back problems!
All this week Mrs. Crip (Corey's her name) has been having very intense contractions that I could set my watch to being every 5 mintues. And I have the marks on my fingers and hands to prove it! So hopefully once they induce the baby will just COME ON DOWN!.
I have been so nervious this past few nights and I find myself unable to sleep because I am so scaried that I am gonna screw up this perfect little thing that took us 4 years to get. I married Corey when her youngest was already 2 so while I am her only daddy, I missed out on the baby stuff. SO I am terrified that I am gonna drop her or not pick her up right or something of that nature!
And I am also so excited about looking down into that face and seeing her smile up at me. Brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it!
So as soon as I can get back to a computer I will post the newest member of Team KATTs first picture and let y'all know how everything went!
MSU Tailgate
Well I sit here at my computer at 7:45 this morning instead of on the LSU parade grounds because a choice had to be made.
Last night the wife's contractions started to get stronger but were very erratic. Some would be 30 min apart and others 12 min apart. So we chose to make a choice this morning. While on the way to Walker so I can catch a ride to Tailgating with a friend those contractions started coming closer together.
I looked at my 39 week and 1 day pregant wife and asked, "What do YOU want me to do" as we pull into the parking lot. She looks at me and says, "But if I dont go into labor today your gonna be mad and upset that you didnt go." Most guys can figure out the 5 mintue exchange that took place next.
I was faced with a very tough choice, be there for my wife who might not even go into labor today, OR go tailgating and she will be pregant tommorrow. Then a though popped into my head, I could get brownie points for life!!!
With her first 2 kids the babies biological sperm donors (her term) were not there with her when she went into labor. So for missing one day of tailgating I could do no wrong for the rest of my life!!!
So I made the choice to stay home and have a vitual tailgate in the chatroom over at Tigerforums.com! I can listen to the Geaux Show live and even call in with a question and I can drink beer and watch football from the comfort of my computer chair.
BUT most importantly I get to be there for the woman I love with all my heart, my soulmate through life and weither or not she goes into labor, I will always be there for her.
See it wasnt a hard choice, I had already made up my mind the night before, but we had the food, and pinata for this week so I had to get it over there anyway.
SO whereever you may be today, lift your favorite drink high into the air and lets drink to life, to Saturdays in the fall and to LSU FOOTBALL!!!!!!
Quarrel in the Quad
Just another normal day in the tailgating life of Team KATT!!!!!!! This is the events that happened during the North Texas Tailgate!!!!!!!! This was also my wifes baby shower as well!
The names have been changed to protect the drunk and innocent!
Hurricane Tailgate
What does it mean to tailgate? Webster defines it as “to hold a tailgate picnic” that maybe true in the Pac-10 or the Big-10, not so here in the valley. With Hurricane Gustav taking dead aim at our coast and showing up to the parade grounds at midnight, holding a picnic was the farthest thing from our minds. Yes you heard me correctly I said midnight, because of the kickoff being moved up we were faced with two options: scrap tailgating for this week OR show up at midnight to get as much tailgating in……..the choice was easy.
Ooh, ooh that smell
Can't you smell that smell?
Ooh, ooh that smell
The smell of tailgating surrounds you.
Yes there is truly nothing like the smell of LSU tailgating in the morning. It’s the smell of victory, it’s the smell of last nights date, and it’s the smell of beer, of bbq, of fried stuff and the smell of friendships.
I guess for the first write up a little back story is in order. I have been a member of Team KATT since 1998. And we have been holding down the same patch of grass on the parade grounds since then. We have gone through some pains and growth but last year we celebrated our 10 year old birthday in grand style. We are basically just your average tailgating crew made up of friends, family, co workers, and recently forum brothers and sisters. But we are a little more we don’t just pack up after the season is over until the next year. We play softball together; we hang out, attend birthday party and basically have a good time all year long!!!!!!!!!!
We are easy to find on the parade grounds, just walk to the student union steps and look to your right out over the parade grounds we will be the crew beating the crap out of the Opposing mascot piñata. And if you can’t see that well just use your ears and listen for the sound of over sized holy board washers slamming against carpet covered plywood....you can’t miss us....and you shouldn’t!
We are always open for anyone to stop by a hang out. Last year we opened our doors to the posters at Tigerforums and for the first time since I joined that site, back in 2003, they held their first ever meet and greet. It was such a fun time that when we started tailgating this year we realized that 3 people forgot to leave! There is always on open invite to anyone that is traveling from out of state no matter if they be LSU or foe, so that they can have a place to experience tailgating for what it truly is.
Not to pimp ourselves out but we also broadcast live from the parade ground usually around 10am. We have our own Podcast called the Geaux Show, if you really want to get the feel of being there, just check us and turn up the sound...www.geauxshow.com
Like Rich said my wife and I are expecting a little Katter due to arrive Oct 3rd (The bye week man am I good) (We had her baby shower out at the North Texas game it was pretty cool) This will be my first but I already have 2 lovely daughters that along with their mom I am trying to convert the Aggie out of them. And along with them a few other KATT members have lil ones of their own, so we are slowly becoming a family affair but we have not lose one bit of wildness as the Youtube videos show!
That’s a little about us, I hope that I am able to provide the people that are far and away with the feel, taste and smell of tailgating. I know what it means to be away from this place. I was stationed in Texas for 3 years and I died a little each football season knowing I wasn’t going to be there! So hopeful I can bring you the fix y'all need!!!
I am here to server y'all so please let know what aspects y'all would like me to touch on each week as soon as I get off of these crutches I will be able to walk around a bit more and take more diverse pictures but for right now you will have to do with pictures of us! And if any of y'all ever make it in for a game you better stop on by Team KATT and ask for Crip, I'll be the drunk guy!
