UCLA Class of 1982. Actually, was supposed to be '81 but was on the 4 2/3 plan. On mens crew for two years (1977-1979), receiving a JV letter my second year.

Remembering Nick Pasquale

+

There will probably be more articles on the subject as we get closer to the one year anniversary of his passing, but here's a very nice article by former UCLA beat writer, Jon Gold.

Josh Rosen Articles

+

Thuc Nhi Nguyen has written a small series of articles on QB commit Josh Rosen for the Daily News.

Football Players Visit Young Cancer Patients at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital

+

Four freshmen players visited children at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital on the Thursday before training camp, playing video games and puzzles with the patients. Interestingly, three of the four players were the ones left behind from fall camp: Aaron Sharp, Jordan Lasley and Dwight Williams.

UCLA to establish research, treatment program for concussions

+

"UCLA will establish what it bills as the world’s most sophisticated research, prevention, diagnosis and treatment program for concussions and brain injuries, with a particular emphasis on young athletes."

Jim Mora's Leadership has UCLA Football on the Rise

4

Interesting to read what a few Bruin alums, like Troy Aikman & Brendon Ayanbadejo had to say about the state of the program under Coach Mora.

How Mazzone Trio Ended Up at UCLA

2

Nice article by Abbey Mastracco of Fox Sports West on how the three Mazzones, Noel, Taylor, & Grayson, ended up together at UCLA.

Coach Mora Interviewed by Fred Roggin

1

NBC has been getting a lot of bad publicity recently due to the gaffe at the press conference last Monday, but they ran a very good interview with Coach Mora last week by Fred Roggin, aired just before Nick Pasquale's passing.

USA TODAY Preview of UCLA

+
"For consistently illuminating coverage of UCLA sports, look no further than Bruins Nation."

Anthony Barr set for huge '13

+
"I got a lot of tweets from the fans and I appreciate the love they give me, but in the end I had to make a selfish decision for me and my teammates," Barr said of his choice to come back for his senior year. "I think I made the right one."

Miracle dash launches team towards March Madness title

1

New video clip about Tyus Edney's 4.8 second dash that clipped Missouri and sent the Bruins on the way to their 11th national championship (warning, it doesn't contain footage of the actual shot, but still worth watching, IMO).

NFL player Maurice Jones-Drew returns to UCLA to obtain degree

6
"You start something, you always want to finish it," he said. "I started here and I wanted to finish here. I could have transferred the credits to another school and graduated from there, but there’s nothing like having a UCLA degree."

Saying Thanks to Linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo

4

Sportswriter Chuck Culpepper writes a moving story about his encounter with former UCLA linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo.

Barnes to Stokes

4

This year marks the 20th anniversary of what I consider to be the best game that I have seen in the UCLA/USC series. Fifth-string QB John Barnes led the Bruins to an unlikely 4th quarter comeback. Bill Plaschke wrote an article on Barnes 10 years ago, on the 10th anniversary of the game. Vincent Bonsignore also has a story on Barnes in today's LA Daily News.

Football or basketball? Odds are the same

2

To be filed under "strange coincidences," both the basketball team and the football team are currently favored by 16.5 points.

‘Daddy Lion’ O’Bannon

2

Update and insight into Ed O'Bannon. Best quote: "Look, man, our team just won," O’Bannon exploded at Bailey. "We’re a good team. It’s time you stand up and either be on this team or not. If you’re on this team, come over here with the rest of us."

Bucks rookie living a "dream"

Nice article on Luc Richard Mbah a Moute.

Yet another Final Four? It's possible for Collison

9

Good article on Darren Collison in The Oregonian. Nice to see a rival publication giving him some ink.
