If you could steal one player from the Jets..
I know, I know. With every ounce of our beings, most of us would agree that we would never want to root for some of the star players of the Jets. Their brash antics are everything that the hoodie does not stand for.
Yet I think it would be a little fun to speculate, if we could steal one player from the Jets, who would it be? You can take this question however you'd like, factoring age into the equation or no. Let's take a look at my top candidates.
"Another kick has a new home. RT @espnnfl: Source: Kicker Shayne Graham to join Patriots: http://es.pn/9Vr7ci"
Gostkowski could be out for a while then, I presume? That's certainly not good.
Dallas Clark Out for the Year
Not Patriots news, but something I thought you all would be interested in. Clark is out for the year with an undisclosed injury suffered during the previous week's game (which he returned to play in after suffering the injury.
Notable fact:
"Earlier this season, the two connected on their 44th touchdown pass, second only to Drew Bledsoe and Ben Coates (45)."
Awful Junior Seau News
Junior Seau is arrested on charges of domestic violence against his live-in girlfriend. After being released from custody, Seau drives his car off a cliff in a possible attempted suicide. He was pulled out of the car with only cuts and bruises however and is now in Scripps Memorial Hospital.

Wow.
So first off, that ticket was the best $90 I've ever spent. That game was an absolute thriller, and the kind of gut-check clutch win we haven't seen the likes of since '06.
I went to the game with a couple of my buddies who're Ravens fans, which made the game all the more tense for all of us. The game long smack talking and anxiousness in the closing minutes was to die for.
My thoughts:
MVPS -
- The inside 'triangle' of Mayo, Spikes, and Big Vince - Holding Ray Rice to 88 yards on 28 carries (with a long of only 8!?) is HUGE. Ray Ray is a threat to hit a home run every time he touches it, so keeping him in check was why the Ravens couldn't pull away and allowed the Pats to come back.
- Deion Branch - Talk about a homecoming? The standing ovation he got on his first catch was a great moment, but nostalgia took a back seat to an incredible clutch performance from the former superbowl MVP. 7 catches in the 4th quarter and overtime is unreal. Randy who? (Ok maybe not yet)
- BO'B - Dare I say, the playcalling seemed great today. Using Tate and Herno in the running game? Screens? Excellent use of Woodhead and big plays to all three tight ends. The offense was off because of a number of dropped balls and penalties, but I really liked the playcalling.
* Honorable mentions - Danny Woodhead, Zoltan Mesko, Devin McCourty, the 12th man (The crowd got LOUD today)

Pats Sign RB Thomas Clayton - Release OL Quinn Ojinnaka
Not surprised to see another RB added to the roster. Could he end up as part of the rotation on Monday, or is he only here for Fragile Freddy insurance?
In the 2010 Patspulpit Mock Draft, The Chiefs Select..
Hey Arrowhead Pride! I had the privilege of drafting for the Chiefs over at the PatsPulpit community two round mock.
With the 5th pick; Eric Berry - S - Tenn.
Considered McClain and Bulaga here (Okung and T. Williams were both off the board), but ended up deciding on Berry. With Merriweather, Sanders, and Harrison, I think Pioli showed a love for intelligent, playmaker safeties and I can't see him passing up that kind of talent here.
With the 36th pick; Cam Thomas - DT - North Carolina
I had a whole write up done and set for Golden Tate, when TB scoops him up with the 35th pick. So with Cody and Williams off the board, I took the next best NT prospect, one who a lot of reports I've seen put ahead of Cody. In all honesty, I would have liked to trade out of this spot, but there were no trades.
With the 50th pick; Brandon Spikes - ILB - Florida
Once again, I was hoping for a WR (Damian Williams this time) and he was snatched up before I could grab him. Still, Spikes appears to be some one who will fit in well at 3-4 ILB, and I wouldn't mind seeing the Patriots take him. Him and Thomas combined should really improve the chiefs run D. Combine that with Berry playing the pass, and the Chiefs D has a lot to look forward too.
What do you think? What would you have done differently? The full draft results can be found here

Csigs' Official Mock Draft Contest Entry
Also my first ever mock draft, so take that for what it's worth..
1) St. Louis Rams: Sam Bradford - QB - Oklahoma
I think once they released Mark Bulger any doubt that this was going to be the pick was erased. Would be shocked if they didn't go QB, and even though I personally think Clausen will have the better career (If only because he ends up drafted into a better situation) the Rams are are in love with Bradford.
2) Detroit Lions: Ndamukong Suh - DT - Nebraska
Detroit brought in some nice journeymen level players on the DL to make it respectable, but none will ever be on Suh's level. He brings incredible talent to the table and instantly makes their DT rotation a strong point on this defense that needed to find a strong point.
3) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Gerald McCoy - DT - Oaklahoma
This pick somehow manages to be even easier then the first two, BPA meets biggest team need. In a division with great RBs, upgrading their awful run defense is a no brainer.
4) Washington Redskins: Russel Okung - OT - Oklahoma State
With McNabb wearing Burgundy and Campbell staying on the roster (for now at least) Washington doesn't have any need for Clausen. The best move was OT here anyway, since any QB was going to have a hard time succeeding with the line currently in place.
5) Kansas City Chiefs: Eric Berry - S - Tennessee
The first real decision in this mock draft, I've never bought into the idea of them going OT here..the line seemed to gel towards the end of the season and it's a little early to give up on Albert just yet. It came down to McClain or Berry, and after thinking about it for a while, I realized that Pioli places high value on Safety. The safety's are essentially the captains of the secondary in this system, and he's had an eye for smart, play-making safeties when drafting for NE (Merriweather, WIlson, Sanders, combined with bringing in Harrison). Berry is above any of those whom he drafted in every aspect, and as intelligent as they come. There is plenty of quality ILBs who will be there at the beginning of the second round, after Berry and Thomas however there isn't that same depth for quality safeties.
6) Seattle Seahawks: Bryan Buluga - OT - Iowa
With the pickup of Whitehurst, picking up Clausen wouldn't make sense. Berry would be the pick here if KC went in a different direction, but instead Buluga is brought in to shore up the OL. High effort/character athlete who will fit in well.
7) Cleveland Browns: Jimmy Clausen - QB - Notre Dame
I flip-flopped between Clausen and Earl Thomas for a while. Delhomme and Wallace are serviceable backups at this point in their careers, nothing more. Clausen will compete with them for the starting job right away, but Cleveland won't be forced to throw him into the fire with those other two on the roster. Gets a year or two behind Delhomme to prepare and learn.
8) Oakland Raiders: Bruce Campbell - OT - Maryland
I'd like to include the disclaimer that I don't think this is the right pick, but I think it's the pick the Raiders will make. Campbell is a physical specimen of an athlete, and Al Davis is surely driveling over his combine results. The Raiders have a huge need at OT, so it fits a need, they can only help that they can mold his raw ability into an elite tackle.
9) Buffalo Bills: Dan Williams - NT - Tennessee
With Clausen and the best OTs off the board, Buffalo addresses its biggest need on defense by reaching a little for Williams. This should still make the transition to the 3-4 a bit easier on them without having to spend a few years looking for their centerpiece at NT.
10) Jacksonville Jaguars: Earl Thomas - S - Texas
Jacksonville addressed their pass rush by picking up Kampman, and while he may not be a cure-all, it allows the jags to take care of the safety position, which Thomas will fill into wonderfully. Thomas will start right away and improve a rather mediocre secondary.
11) Denver Broncos: Marukice Pouncey - C - Florida
As long as Brandon Marshall is still in town, Denver's biggest need will be its interior line. Pouncey is already better then any center on the roster by a considerable amount, and while this may be a bit of a reach, McDaniels has been anything but conventional thus far. This pick could easily be Dez Bryant if Marshall gets shipped on a draft day trade.
12) Miami Dolphins: Brandon Graham - DE/OLB - Michigan
With Thomas and Williams off the board, Miami tries to help its pass rush with Graham. A hard worker and multi-technique rusher, Graham seems to me like he'll fit in well with a Parcells/Sparano defense. Bryant would be the pick if Parcells wasn't the president.
13) San Francisco 49ers: Joe Haden - CB - Florida
The debate for me here was between Williams and Haden, and I think Williams has a much better shot of falling to the 49ers second pick then Haden does. Haden will be taken by Tennessee if he falls to him, so the 49ers get their shutdown corner of the future in Haden with this pick. Should start right away and may even fight for the number 1 spot before the end of the year.
14) Seattle Seahawks: C.J. Spiller - RB - Clemson
Seattle gets a great receiving and skill back here. He can provide a safety valve for whoever starts at quarterback and could end up being a Ray Rice like player down the road. Should make an impact right away, and if Seattle's receivers can stay healthy, this could be a very dynamic offense.
15) New York Giants: Rolando McClain - ILB - Alabama
McClain instantly provides a force against the run, and a leader for the New York defense. This is a BPA meets biggest team need and a big win for the Giants.
16) Tennessee Titans: Derrick Morgan - DE - Georgia Tech
With Vanden-Bosch gone Tennessee needs a new pass-rusher in the worst way. Derrick Morgan will fit in great in Fischer's 4-3 scheme and can contribute right away. Kyle Wilson could also be considered here, but Morgan's talent combined with the Titan's need here is to much to pass up.
17) San Francisco 49ers: Trent Williams - OT - Oaklahoma
The 49ers get the best RT in the draft and cover another of their biggest needs. Any LB they would think of taking now will likely be there in the second, and RT is a bigger need.
18) Pittsburgh Steelers: Mike Iupati - OG - Idaho
The interior line for Pitt needs work, and Iupati plays with the mean streak you need at the G position. Some people seem to think this is to early to draft a guard, but if he ends up becoming the next Logan Mankins, does it matter where he's drafted?
19) Atlanta Falcons: Sean Weatherspoon - OLB - Missouri
Atlanta has been in love with Weatherspoon the whole offseason. He should fit in right away with the Falcons pass rush, and provide a great spark for the rest of the defense. Could draw enough attention down the road to make the other LBs look better too.
20) Houston Texans: Kyle Wilson - CB - Boise State
As long as Houston plays in the Peyton Manning division, they'll need a solid secondary to compete. When they lost Robinson CB became a huge need for this team, and Kyle Wilson is a legitimate 1st round corner. Dez Bryant would of been a sexy pick here (Shaub's '10 would be the new standard for QBs) but if Wilson falls here they have to pull the trigger.
21) Cincinnati Bengals: Dez Bryant - WR - Oklahoma State
Carson Palmer is a great QB, but any great QB needs weapons to throw to. Coles is old, and Chad isn't what he used to be. Bryant can come in right away as the #2 receiver, and learn from Ocho for a few years as he transitions into the #1 role. This provides great balance to a Bengals offense that was to run oriented to play from behind last year. This is a steal here.
22) New England Patriots: Jared Odrick - DE - Penn State
The New England front seven suffered when Seymour left and no RE emerged that could command a double team. Odrick has the size to convert to 3-4 DE, and can slide inside to play DT when the Patriots line up in a 4-3. With Jarvis Green leaving for Denver, DE becomes an even bigger team need, and Odrick will fill in wonderfully.
23) Green Bay Packers: Charles Brown - OT - USC
Green Bay could really use a tackle, but Anthony Davis seems to be the kind of tackle they don't need. Effort concerns and weight problems aside, he's a large, un-athletic tackle who wouldn't fit well in GB's zone scheme. Brown is a more NFL ready tackle, albeit with a lower ceiling, but a much higher floor then Davis. Kindle could also be the pick here, but GB waits until the second to grab a quality rusher.
24) Philadelphia Eagles: Anthony Davis - OT - Rutgers
On the other hand, Davis could fit in very well in Philly. Davis could end up playing RG, or could end up pushing for the RT position too. He's got red-flags, but this move still seems to be the best for Philly. They could go DE with Dunlap or Griffen, but it's not like either of them don't have character concerns either.
25) Baltimore Ravens: Jason Pierre-Paul - DE - South Florida
This pick came down to Gresham or Paul. I feel like Baltimore is one of the few teams that can take Pierre-Paul's amazing athletic ability and transform it into a monster of a DE. Jason will get to learn from some of the best coaches in the NFL and some of the best defensive players of all time. As long as he's willing to put the work in (and I haven't seen anything saying he's lazy) he could end up being a star here. Baltimore can get a quality TE later int he draft.
26) Arizona Cardinals: Sergio Kindle - OLB - Texas
The Cardinals could use both an inside or outside LB, so they take the best one available in Kindle. I personally am not high on him, as I see him a more of a pure speed pash-rusher who will need to learn he won't be able to just run around the best tackles in the league. Still, in theory this should address one of Arizona's biggest needs, and they should still be able to get a solid ILB in the second.
27) Dallas Cowboys: Taylor Mays - Safety - USC
With all the 'premier' linebackers and tackles off the board, the cowboys take the best safety left in the draft in Mays. He has sideline to sideline speed, while at the same time has the size to be an enforcer in the secondary. Could take a couple years to grow into the role, but could still end up being an amazing safety with proper coaching.
28) San Diego Chargers: Ryan Mathews - RB - Fresno State
San Diego needs to find their RB of the future with LT finally out of town. They get him in Mathews, who will share time with Sproles and become a dynamic part of the offense from the first day. Mathews can supposedly receive well, just wasn't asked to in college, and bring the straight ahead running that San Diego has missed these past two years. Terrance Cody or Brian Price could go here if they'd rather take a 2nd round running back and address nose tackle.
29) New York Jets: Golden Tate - WR - Notre Dame
As a Patriots fan, I hate this pick because I think Tate is going to be an amazing NFL player. While the Jets need a pass rusher, neither of the top DEs left look to translate well to the 3-4 DE position, and it'd be reaching pretty far for someone like Hughes or Norwood. At the very least Tate could play as a reliable slot receiver, and the jets version of Wes Welker to help Sanchez continue to develop. His reliability and ferocity with the ball in his hands will be a nice change of pace from Braylon Edwards.
30) Minnesota Vikings: Devin McCourty - CB - Rutgers
Well gee when did Rutgers become a school with multiple first round prospects? Anyway, McCourty fills the Vikings only obvious need, and fits the scheme very well. He could jump in as the #2 corner right away, or at worst play the nickel. He's a hard hitting corner who is willing to play against the run and punish WRs who leave themselves exposed.
31) Indianapolis Colts: Everson Griffen - DE - USC
Griffen has some character concerns, but he'd be going into a great environment in Indi, one of the few places where the can confidently assume they can correct those kind of things. Taking Griffen provides quality depth on the Dline, and hopefully the eventual heir to Dwight Freeny down the road.
32) New Orleans Saints: Carlos Dunlap - DE - Florida
Almost the same description as above, Dunlap is going into a great environment in NO, where he can hopefully learn to maximize his potential and provide a boost to NOs front 4. They need help with their pass rush and here it is.
Vrabel would "Go back to New England in a heartbeat"
Mike Vrabel says he'd come back to New England in a heart beat, but doesn't feel like they would want him.
I'd sure love to bring him in for another year. He could contribute and help bring along any LB we (hopefully) draft this year. Would be great to see him retire as a Patriot too.
