McCovey Chronicles Poll: Would you trade Zito straight up for Soriano

Hi Giants fans, as someone who is not specifically a Giants fan but loves watching Lincecum and Cain (when he's got his good control) pitch I have noticed how badly you need offense.  As a Cubs fan I've noticed how badly we need OF flexibility (the Cubs grasp on this season is slipping away quickly, and the Cubs might better be served giving at-bats to further develop our young players).  Of course, the only way the Cubs could trade Soriano would be for another albatross contract (or if we paid for at least half of his contract, which isn't going to happen).

Those three facts got me wondering about a straight up Zito for Soriano trade.  Purely for fun, because in all likelihood we're both stuck with these contracts, I'd like to hear what Giants fans would think about that trade.

Contracts (yes, there are a depressing number of years to list):

2010:  18M (Sori), 18.5M (Zito)

2011:  18M (Sori), 18.5M (Zito)

2012:  18M (Sori), 19M (Zito)

2013:  18M (Sori), 20M (Zito)

2014:  18M (Sori), 7M buyout (Zito)

I won't go into a stats analysis for these guys.  I'll leave it at this:  They're both overpaid but are capable of being very good ballplayers.

Thanks and good luck in the west!

Edit: Thanks for the input, I think that's clearly a no from Giants fans.  I shall begin to brace myself for the inevitable Soriano to first experiment in Chicago.

Bleed Cubbie Blue Vitters #14 prospect for Law

Keith Law of espn.com released his top 100 prospects list.  I was happy to see Vitters at #14.  Law says this of Vitters,

"Vitters started the year slow due to a hand injury, ended up returning to short-season ball, and hit everything in sight. He has an easy, smooth, quick swing that would be that classic "sweet" left-hander's swing if it wasn't for the fact that he hits right-handed. He doesn't have great loft in his swing, but is strong and makes extremely hard contact; he led the Northwest League in doubles at age 19 and as he fills out a little bit, some of those will go over (or through) the wall. He's fringe-average at third base; he has plenty of arm and his footwork is improving, although he's not likely to ever be plus over there. If there's a concern, it's the very low walk total; he's not a hacker or even impatient, but is very aggressive, and that works as long as he's ahead of the pitchers and can make so much solid contact. If his patience doesn't improve and he doesn't continue to hit .320-plus, his ceiling will start to drop. If the patience comes, he's a potential No. 3 hitter who'll hit plenty of doubles and 25-plus home runs with a high average."

Some interesting guys that Law rates Vitters ahead of:  Maybin, LaPorta, and Dexter Fowler.  If Vitters pans out I wouldn't mind seeing him hit frozen ropes all over wrigley :)
