Battle Red Blog Of Momentum And Men

This is a continuation of a conversation that I (somewhat rudely) initiated, in response to a passing remark within dfleister's recent FanPost.

I'll begin by responding to a post that Rip Jersey had left for me in that comment section, about 'momentum' changing like the weather (as it often does), while he then tried passing off its legitimacy altogether, sort of as a figment of the imagination of the fandom and press.

Finally, I hope to tie in my response to him, with the intentions of my original question that started this entire fiasco. In the end leaving the conversation open and welcome to everyone (and most importantly showing more respect to dfleister's hard work).

Battle Red Blog Team Needs?... No, Really...

Ten weeks into the season and headed into a bye week, our Houston Texans JUGGERNAUT™ sits atop of the conference standings. Andre hasn't played in six weeks. Mario has long been resigned to injured reserve. Yet, three of our last four games have been blowout wins. Or was that four out of four?...

Battle Red Blog BBS' true identity... REVEALED?

I posted this originally at Stampede Blew, although it shouldn't last very long, over there:

Hi. I'm a new blogger, here, at the National Enquirer. Though, I have lurked in the past... from time-to-time.

That being said, I thought my little observation fit the desired culture here, well enough. So without further adieu, I present to you...

Battle Red Blog Booty canned; Orlovsky remains (for safety purposes)

I know the backup QB role has been a sore subject around here for quite a while. And I've made no secret about putting some of my faith into Safety Dan, who has been a popular whipping boy, himself... especially in these parts. But playing mistake-free is a huge part of the challenge, for even your grizzled, H.O.F.-bound veteran. Let alone an inexperienced player. QBs must take some risks, and Danny is still definitely in the process of learning how to do so. Uh... properly, that is.

So please, set down your bleach. For now.

Battle Red Blog Jerruh is priceless (the Cowboys are still worthless)

There seems to be a video floating around, with (an apparently drunk) Jerruh Jones sharing his infinite wisdom:

JJ: Romo was a miracle.

(unidentified): It was a miracle, wasn't it?

JJ: He almost never got in, and he almost was gone. Tebow would never…

(unidentified): What if you were the Jaguars or — would you just, just draft him and sell fucking jerseys?

JJ: That's the only reason I brought in Bill Parcells.

[Laughter]

JJ: [Inaudible: "mammoth fuckin' rake,"]

JJ: Bill's not worth a shit. I love him.

(unidentified): I know you do.

JJ: Not worth a shit, but I wanted — they were on my ass so bad. J's gotta have a yes man. So to get this fuckin' stadium, I need to bring his ass in.

(unidentified): What, you, you wouldn't take Tebow in the third round?

JJ: Why? He'd never get on the field. I can't get him out there.

[Laughter]

JJ: I can't get him out there.

Battle Red Blog new teams for LT, Delhomme, and Quinn

No links provided. You'll have to take my word on things.

I was present for all of these acquisitions, anyway. Really.

Browns' QB Brady Quinn gets traded to Denver, for FB Peyton Hillis. Hillis was barely used last year in Denver. He is a tough runner, a nice reciever, and a good blocker. Hillis should help the Browns with power running; he may develop into a much-needed offensive weapon... but this is a great trade for the Broncos (especially considering Hillis barely even had a role in McDaniels' offense).

Chargers' RB LaDanian Tomlinson signs a deal with the NY Jets; and Panthers' QB Jake Delhomme signs with Cleveland.

IMO, Cleveland was much better off, standing pat, with the upside of Brady Quinn (or maybe even DA), rather than a skinny, decrepit, rag-armed signal caller (Delhomme). Yeah, then again, maybe they draft someone high... but most of the QB prospects this year are garbage (again, IMO). They should have made a greater commitment to the prospect they already had. This is changing for the sake of change. Same old Browns. Lots of action, but inevitably going nowhere.

Same with the Jets, who sign LT, after letting go of Thomas Jones. They also should have stood pat, right there.

That's some really convoluted football management. I must say.
