HOW MUCH?
Just a question, that's all. But how much would it cost to move up from 9th to 1st? I don't have a copy of this year's value chart, so I'm depending on you guys. Luck seemed so poised in the pocket, it was mind-boggling. He's so mature and confident (not cocky), it would be such a waste for him to go to the Colts. But I would love to have him direct the Dolphins after watching him against Oklahoma St (even though they lost). How many firsts would we have to give up? Could cash also be included. I really know that most, if not all, of you would say it's too much and/or costly but just for the fun on paper, how much. Players, too, include. Thank you.
WHAT WE COULD HAVE HAD . . .
Instead of a local monster TE, who was picked in round 3, pick 31, we had to pick G John Jerry, pick #9. These people in the FO suck.
REMEMBER 2008s DRAFT?
I need you guys to go back and fill in the gaps of what I remember. There's so much I wish to say and I hope I could put it all down in a proper fashion. I recall Miami signing Long BEFORE the draft - or at least getting him to confirm a contract. They tried to do this with Matt Ryan and I believe that's why they didn't chose Ryan. So correct me and/or fill in the gap.
Next point, let's say that Miami does get the No. 1 pick next year. They will only pick Luck if they feel they could sign him. Of course, if the kid refuses their contract offer BEFORE draft day, they may 1) pick him for the best offer or 2) trade down for the best offer. Do you guys understand what I'm trying to say?
Just because we have the first pick is not a lock on having Luck for our QB. He could very well do what Elway did. I believe that's why we signed Jake Long - only because we could get him under contract.
I hope we land in the top 5 with picks. If we don't get Luck, we could get Jones or Baylor's QB. But one of those three WILL BE ours next Spring.
WHO IS THIS, PLEASE?
I was in the Sun Sentinel Blogs and came across the story on Colombo and I was strolling through the comments and came across this. Right away, I went to KFFL new to see the transactions and nothing was there. I came here and didn't see anything (unless I missed the post). I looked in the Miami Herald, ProFootball Talk, Miami Dolphins.com and nothing. Does anyone know? Thank you.
Marinofan13 says:
…looking to get off to a fast start and furious finish, the Dolphins have just signed Rosie Palmer as their TE…
THIS IS NOT NICE
I'm going to find out who you are and I'm going to speak with your parents.
STORY REGARDING DANIEL THOMAS
Did anyone know about this? Are you worried about anything?
NO ESPN TOMORROW ??
I just took this from another football site. What happens to those of us that don't have NFL Network? That sucks? I planned my whole day tomorrow to do nothing. Now I have to do housework? How come no ESPN? Is this all about contracts?
FRIDAY
6-9 p.m.: Rounds 2-3, ESPN
9-10:30 p.m.: Rounds 2-3, ESPN2
SATURDAY
Noon-7:30 p.m.: Rounds 4-7, NFL-Network
BUSINESS AS USUAL FOR THE PATRIOTS
It's not the fact that Ingram went to New Orleans, but what the hell wouldn't they trade with us?
They gave up their 2nd (56th pick) and their first next year. ANOTHER FIRST ROUND PICK FOR THE PATRIOTS. Let's give them all of the first round picks, why don't we? Surrender them now. I'm so pissed. I turned in before they picked so I missed the lower half. Those friggin Patriots. It would be them.
WHAT'S THIS STORY I HEARD ABOUT TCU'S DALTON?
I'm in the NYC area and I was listening to WOR Talk Radio and I heard the host Joe Barlett talk about a story that he found to be very strange. It seems that Andy Dalton has been interviewed by 21 teams and Barlett said that MANY of them will not draft him because of Dalton's red hair (so what? He's Irish). But Barlett said that these teams are worried about his fiery attitude and his temper.
Barlett did not mention a website. I'm busy looking throughout newspapers (sites) to find anything. Has anyone heard this? He was really upset about this. While Dalton may not possess all the physical tools of an elite QB, he is intelligent and has a good arm; he has the built (6-2, 215) and he's mobile.
While this is NOT a vote for him, I'm just wondering where I could find this information. He is a good player and with proper training, he could excel.
Did anyone hear about this? Thank you.
BIG TIME A-HOLE
I suppose he thinks he's too good to be available at #15.
PRE-TRADE AGREEMENT WITH DALLAS?????
What do you guys think of the latest story?
THIS GUY IS ON DRUGS -
Look, I don't know where something like this belongs but I'm just laughing at the thought of this character's belief that this may happen (in his mock. If this copy and paste belongs elsewhere, please let me know for the future. Thank you. HOPE YOU'RE ALL SITTING DOWN !!!! Here's what "going to happen" - - - -

I WANT TO COMMENT ON A CLOSED POST
With an illness in the family, I haven't been able to fully read every post, which is bad for me because I learn an awful lot from many of you. Just today, I was reading one and then another and came across 62Lou's "Trading Down in 2011." Phintastic commented that he would love for Miami to trade down with San Diego for their two 2nd round picks AND their two 3rd round picks. Dolphinfan4lyfe then replied stating 4 picks may be too much. IT'S NOT TOO MUCH. Not according to the value chart. I know it's a closed post, but let's just dream and have some fun with it. Our #15 pick is worth 1050 points. The only 7 round mock draft that I could find was DraftTek.com so I checked SD's picks in round 2 - #50 (400 points) and #61 (292); round 3 - #82 (180) and #89 (145). Those four picks equal 1017. We are still due 33 points worh of a pick (maybe a couple of 7th's).
Think about it - we're not dropping WITHIN the 1st round - we're going from 15 all the way down to 50 (MAYBE). So, mathematically, that IS a realist trade. We could even ask for SD TWO 6th round picks #183 (19.2) and #201 (12) - they total 31 points.
Phintastic - WONDERFUL IDEA!!!!!! GO TELL TONY AND JEFF RIGHT AWAY . . . . .
Well, thank you all kindly for putting up with me. I appreciate it. Illness in the family is a terrible thing to go through and I'm glad I have you guys (gals) to share football dreams with.
WE RECEIVED A COMP PICK !!!!!!
We're on our way to the SB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NEED CLARIFICATION, PLEASE -
Please review and correct. It is my understanding that a college player's "Pro Day" is at his college facility and coaches (and GMs, scouts, etc) attend on that one particular day.
What I'm not sure of is when a college player has "scheduled visits" with Dallas, Pittsburgh, etc. or when I read that "The Panthers have also scheduled a private workout for Gabbert some time this weekend" - this is from the "Great Blue North Draft Report website.
Does the player travel all over the country for these teams? What is the policy / procedure for these "scheduled visits" and "private workouts."?
If the player has to travel, that's time away from class because school is still being conducted and also, that's a lot of money to go from state to state.
Much appreciation to one and all who help me understand this. I NEVER INQUIRED BEFORE - I just read over it year after year but now, with all of you, I know I'll be educated properly. Thank you!!!!

JETS WAIVE VERNON GHOLSTON
Any thoughts for argument's sake? Pick him up; have him take Quentin Moses' roster spot. I'm sure Nolan would do wonders with him. I remember all the hoopla when he was coming out. Some mocks had Miami drafting Gholston. What are your opinions?
WHAT'S YOUR TAKE ON THIS FOR A SPEEDY WR?
Offensive Player Spotlight
Joe Horn, WR, Ashland
One of the best athletes in the country won't be working out at the Combine this week. D2 Ashland U features one of the top unknown players in the country. He's a football player with track star speed in the 4.3s and elite quickness (sub 3.9 in the SS, sub 6.5 in the 3-cone) which make him a dangerous return man as well. Scouts would be smart to check this kid out when he displays his wares at the Ohio State Pro Day.
CHAD GREENWAY, LB
I was browsing through Draft Countdown and came across the Vikings at 12 and it was stated that, "if Chad Greenway or Ben Leber leave as free agents this offseason", Vikes could be in the market for someone like Akeem Ayers of UCLA. I've always liked Greenway. He's always been consistent. He's 6-2 and around 240. He's very instinctive and has become one of the best OLB in the league. He's a gifted and well-rounded individual and he's excellent at stopping the run at the line. I'm sure the Vikings will give it their all to keep him but we have the money (Ross), right?
Hopefully, the free agency will work itself out with the CBA because if so, we don't need to draft a LB. There are so many available - depending upon who you personally like is one thing but just some of my favorites Kamerion Wimbley (OAK), Manny Lawson (SF) Justin Durant (JAC), LaMarr Woodley (Pitt), Tamba Hali (KC) and Paul Posluszny of Buffalo. With one of them, we could move Misi to the inside. Crowder would have to go.
What do you think about the possibilty of landing Greenway?
IRELAND'S TWIN AN INSPIRATION TO THEIR FATHER
Such a wonderful yet sad story about Ireland's daughters. I have a dear friend who has a now 10-year-old son who was diagnosed with autism when he was somewhere between 2-3 years old. Like Dan Marino said, everyone seems to know someone with autism and let's hope one day research can somehowfind a cure and let the children act like children and do all the fun things we used to do. God Bless.
HATE THE TEAM BUT LOVE THEIR ANGER
I just hope that when the season starts, the Dolphins can play with this much intensity, this much anger. I want them to remember January 2011. Remember that they are the LAUGHINGSTOCKS of the NFL. Not just Sparano. Any coach could lose. It was Ross that did this. I hope they remember.
THE POSSIBILITY OF PICKING AT QB WITH #1
One site in particular - FootballsFuture.com With that said, I've been looking at a lot of draft sites. Not forums but actual football sites. Several of them have a great deal of defensive players being picked in the first round. Which leads me to this. Yes, there are several teams in need of a QB; Arizona especially. Tennessee, Washington, Minnesota. But with all the defensive players out there, there just may be one or two (or three) QBs available when we pick at 15. If this is true (OR POSSIBLE), 1) what do you PERSONALLY think and 2) what do you think the Dolphins would do. These answers may be different - I'm sure they are.
For me, I would like for them to pick a QB. Look at what the Jets did. They wanted Sanchez and they went out and got him. Look at all the teams "better" than us - Colts have Manning, Steelers have Ben, NY has Sanchez, GB - Rodgers, Atlanta - Ryan. Alot of them were in position to pick a QB - I know. But what I'm saying is they have him and they are all set for 12 years.
I'm not sure, though who would qualify for us to get. I would hate (as you) to waste a pick but every team has wasted a pick. It's a crap shoot every April. I read that Gabbert, LIKE NEWTON, is going to have to get used to taking snaps under center. Mallett - a lot of you believe he may be close to Henne in the way he plays. If we do trade down and pick up a draft pick in place of our 2nd, I would like for them to use it on the O-line.
But I'm just saying - there may be QBs available when we pick. There is an awful lot of defensive players out there. Should there be a couple of QBs, who would you choose?
While I would like a QB, I would also be very happy with someone like Pouncey on our line. He won't be there in the third round. I also like Wisniewski, C from Penn State. I'm for drafting offense this year.
I believe we need, besides QB, RBs, WR and linemen.
As far as Tight End, I've read that a few of you want Miami to draft another one. Here's the thing that I don't understand. Why draft ANOTHER rookie? After Fasano, we have three rookie TEs and they all come from good institutions, Epps (Miami U), Shuler (Penn St.) and Mastrud (Kansas State). So you want four rookies? If we have to get a TE, I'd rather acquire Chicago's Greg Olsen or SF's Vernon Davis somehow. Don't know if either is a free agent but either would make a fine addition to our team. I wanted Miami to draft Olsen in 2007 but we drafted "The Family" instead. Could have had Olsen. Could have had Patrick Willis. Could have had Jets' Revis. What we could have had . . . . Don't see us drafting another one though. Could be wrong.
I have us having picks (one each) in the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and two selections in the 7th - ours and Jacksonville's pick (Justin Smiley trade).
2011 draft information - you may or may not know some or all - NE has four selections in the first 2 rounds. Denver has 3 selections in the first 2 rounds. In the third round, NE, New Orleans and San Diego have two selections each.
I saw a Detroit fan - his own mock - Round 1 - Mike Pouncey; Round 2 - Greg Jones, OLB; Round 3 - John Moffitt, G; Round 4 - Casey Matthews, LB. Reason I'm writing this is because I saw someone on this site mention Matthews and if you think he's going to be there when we pick in the 5th Round, you're mistaken. Now, I'm not going solely on this guy's choices - I'm just saying. He's a fine choice and he will be gone - someone may even risk it with a 2nd or 3rd if they have more than one pick in a round (NEW ENGLAND?). I wouldn't be surprised. Matthews is their kind of player. I wouldn't be surprised.
WANT YOUR OPINIONS ON A MOCK -
Saw this mock on another website. What are your opinions of this guy's picks. I personally don't understand mocks from people that browse through sites like this - you KNOW they are picking THEIR own favorite players - not players that fit the team. It's who they want. And then they ask other viewers, "Should we draft John Smith?" Are they really asking PERMISSION of other viewers? Then, once people respond and say "No, I don't want him" you don't hear from the original writer again. It's like the one who replied is setting the tone and telling someone that he doesn't know what to do and the original writer lets it happen. Please forgive me but this behavior confuses me and I can't seem to understand it and it happens each year. So, look at what he wrote, look at what three other people replied with and tell me if you think the original writer is correct or do you believe that the ones who replied make more sense. Look carefully, like you always do, naturally, at each player. This is being done now, before any news of the CBA and the combine where players always move up or down. People that you NEVER heard of - all of a sudden you fall on their bandwagon, you know what I'm saying. Can you people really blame me for not understanding this behavior. Why so early? I don't get it. Well, thank you for your time and appreciate your thoughts and opinions on this typical mock and reply.

Why would you cut Fasano and keep Epps?
Al Harris was waived injured and is 36 years old.
After the way Starks and Soliai played NT last season, why do you have Starks starting over Soliai?
There is no way in hell should the Dolphins use the Franchise Tag on Soliai. Paul had a good year but there is no way he deserves to be paid in the $6 to $7 million dollar range.
So cut the starting TE and not draft a new one? Doesn't make much sense there.
Also, I don't see Moffitt being available that far down. Most have him as a 3rd/4th round pick.
The Original Post has the Dolphins signing the Raiders TE Zach Miller to replace Fasano and resigning Dedrick Epps. I'm not sure if the OP knows we need at least THREE TEs on a football team.
COULD WE POSSIBLY LOSE NOLAN?
Saw this additional link in an individuals post on footballsfuture.com Then I read a story on NFL.com about Nolan and the Cowboys. While all this is talk, any thoughts?
The story claimed to be on www.phinphantic.com - I can't find it. Can someone provide information? Thanks.
OWNING THE DOLPHINS IS AN AMUSEMENT FOR ROSS
I'm sure (?) Wayne knew about this. If not, we have a corrupt owner.
MY OWN OPINION ON LUCK AND HARBAUGH
Everyone is talking about why Luck went back to school ("to get his degree") instead of taking possibly $50 million dollars from Carolina (or whomever picks first). We hear talk of him getting hurt, losing value, look at what happened to Leinart, look at what happened to Locker this year, etc., etc.
I'm going to look at this from a different point of view. All the talk of him going back for another year - he's a sophmore so technically, he has TWO more years. But if he carries more credits and finishes early, that's not here or there.
The difference I feel between Luck and Harbaugh. Why Luck stayed and why Harbaugh doesn't.
Luck is a kid. I'm sorry to all of you 20-year-olds out there, but just because you're 20 doesn't mean anything. He's still a kid. And in a 20-year-old's mind (MY OPINION, I MUST STRESS), nothing can go wrong. No harm can happen to you. It's like the movie, "Fame" - "Im gonna live forever . . . ." He loves the college life. His sister is a freshman at Stanford. He loves her, loves his family, loves his professors. How many of you can REALLY look into your own hearts and say, "Yeah, I loved ALL of my professors."? Not many, I'm sure.
He doesn't think of his life being like some kind of a clock or hour glass. He doesn't see his life ticking away. He has his whole life ahead of him and the money will always be there. It will be there next year. So what if it's not $50 million (rookie salary cap? maybe). What's the difference should he "settle" for $25 million.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime achievement for him. DON'T FORGET WHAT HE REALLY WANTS - even though he didn't say it - academics go great with a Heisman Trophy. He will never get this chance again. Oh, he could get his degree ANYTIME. I did. I posted yesterday, I believe, that I went back to college 17 years after graduating from high school. I appreciated it so much more at an "older" age. I just didn't "get a degree" - NO - I EARNED IT. Luck wants to do that and he loves the college life. That's why I believe he's staying.
Now, for Harbaugh. Why is he leaving? Just the opposite of young Mr. Luck. He's older. He realizes that yes, there may be an opportunity down the road. He's still young; he's in his 40's. But, unlike Mr. Luck, he knows what his life is like. He knows of the clock and/or hour glass of his life. Harbaugh, in a way, does not have the time to pass up $5 or $6 million dollars. He's a hot commodity right now. Will he be like this next year? Suppose Stanford goes through a losing spell? Tell me, who would you choose? A coach with a record of 12-1 or 8-5? I know who I would choose.
That's my opinion of why Luck is staying and why Harbaugh is leaving. One is loving life, not caring about tomorrow yet as far as the financial aspect of his life. He knows he'll get something. He knows he's good. And maybe, since he's ONLY A SOPHMORE, maybe he'll get even better next year or his final senior year. The other one - he had his time in the spotlight. Now, he wants to capitalize on it. He has a family; word is his wife just had a baby (how long ago, I don't know). He's aware of the hour glass filling up.

Silence from Ross
Not surprising.
Most Embarrasing Dolphins' Moments
Oh, this is priceless. It is quite funny when you're on medication as I have been for the last week.
Where's that Old School Football?
This story is EXACTLY how I feel about the Dolphins right now. Something about Ross is just eating me up and I can't stand it.
