Huge Concerns
So far this off season the Bills have made some very dramatic moves to "upgrade" their roster. They have brought a lot of players in that played for other teams last year. They are still continuing to bring in players to tour the facility and maybe to even sign them.
My concern is the LACK OF CHEMISTRY involving this team. Last year there was not one speck of chemistry after the Cardinals game in that locker room and it showed terribly. With the addition of three players so far and possibly more to come, how will it effect this year's team? It can only get better right? Especially with the additions of veteran players with experience in this league. Of course.
NO, NO, and NO AGAIN. Look what happens when a coach is on the hot seat. Mangini in NY last year tried this FA tactic and it back fired in the end of the season. Guard Alan Faneca, who they gave a mega deal to, failed to lead that line or really open lots of holes where the coaches felt comfortable running over throwing. You could argue that Favre was at the end of his career, but that team was pointing fingers at the end of the year and you could tell there was no real "team" there. A prime example is also the Redskins. They spent lavishly for two seasons, picking up free agents left and right and that turned out terrible for them. They had no real success and players like Archuletta only lasted one year, playing in 3 games! Brandon Lloyd was also another terrible signing for that ball club.
My point is that if and when the Bills sign June, Jones and or Coles they are going to receive a lot of attention this year to not only make the playoffs but to win it all. Blunt Mode was caught smoking the cheeba and you have Juaron and company standing on their las leg. The media will hype this situation through the roof and I don't think the Bills will benefit at all.
I am very concerned with all of these free agent additions that the Bills will not be able to put it all together on the field. In large part because chemistry is a huge part of the NFL.
What do you guys think???
Would you do it?
Without a doubt in my mind I would pull the trigger. I am talking about a trade of our first round pick to the Texans for Owen Daniels. I wouldn't even hesitate. Daniels is 6'3" and 247 lbs. with a solid frame and an excellent pass catching tight end. He caught 70 passes last year for over 800 yards. That is astounding in today's NFL considering not many people even know who the guy is.
Now you may say that he only caught two touchdown passes the whole year, so what is the big deal? Simply put, Daniels can get open and he can catch the ball. Does this sound familiar when you are discussing the Bills recent tight ends? NO. What makes this whole scenario even better is that Daniels had his coming out year while playing with different QBs the entire year, flopping between Schaub and Rosenfels. Oh, I almost forgot too mention that the Texans have Texas size problems on the o-line as well. (They are very average, they make Miami's o-line look good).Lastly, many of you will argue that Andre Johnson is a huge target and took the pressure off of Daniels, allowing him to get open. In short, Lee Evans could do the same for Daniels AND the Texans don't have an adequate number two receiver either.
Trent needs a pass catching TE in the worst way and with our offensive line and two headed monster at running back (lay off the green Marshawn), Daniels would be a great threat.
I love it - what do you guys think?
Free Agency Help
In this years free agency class there is an abundance of big names like Albert Haynesworth, Karlos Dansby, Ray Lewis, Bart Scott and many others. The Bills don't pride themselves on making big free agent acquisitions like the Jets did last year or like the Redskins do every other year. However, the Bills often like to target a couple of role players that can help within their own schemes. This year will be no exception.
Two players that are free agents, who possess rare athletic ability for their positions are Kevin Burnett and Chris Canty. Both of these players were brought into the NFL through the Cowboys organization. I am by no means saying that they will become automatic starters at their respective positions at OLB and DE, but they are two players who can play the game.
Canty is a massive DE at 6'7" and 306 lbs that could shore up our defensive line rotation and fill the role that Spencer Johnson was suppose to. Canty has a big frame and great leverage to create separation and move laterally to fill the hole. He is young with outstanding upside and the Bills would be fortunate to get him.
Burnett is a speed linebacker at 6'3" and 242 lbs who is currently a role player with the Cowboys. He is a good special teamer that has great size and speed but his skills must be refined a little bit. Burnett could start behind Schobel as an OLB in the Bills cover 2. He possesses the speed and raw athletic ability to not only cover the pass but to play the run effectively as well. He indeed would be a huge upgrade as to what we currently have. Burnett is a football player that is coming into his own as a young player and the Bills would be fortunate to pick him up.
I would love to see both of these athletes in a Bills uniform on Sundays next year.

HUGE Off Season
There are countless free agents and restricted free agents on the market and the draft is looming only a month and a half away. There are many decisions to be made regarding the roster as to who will stay and who will go. Most importantly, what in the world will the Bills do with Jason Peters and his contract demands?
I have a very simple resolution that might and could be an awesome idea. First of all, take care of the IN HOUSE business and sign Jason Peters. The guy was born, bred, and trained to be a left tackle by the Bills so why not keep him here? Hey Jason, how does 5 years and 50 million, 20 million guaranteed sound?
Secondly, trade for Anquan Boldin. He is a receiving threat with great hands, awesome physical presence and he returned to game action 3 weeks after having plates inserted into his face. He is one tough guy. My deal for Boldin would be 3rd and 4th round picks with Roscoe Parrish thrown in there to seal the deal. If Arizona wants a 2nd instead of or in combination with that deal, give it to them.
Lastly, I would sign Karlos Dansby as a FA ILB. Dansby is a beast inside that has good feet, can cover the pass and is awesome in run support. Can you imagine him playing behind Stroud and Williams?
To free up cap space to make this possible, Kelsay and Royal would have to be cut. After all is said and done, the Bills would still have plenty of cap space to sign there draft picks.
Lets hear it!
Julius Peppers Wants Out of Carolina!!!!
Julius Peppers has asked the Panthers for his release from the team. Julius feels that he has yet to reach his full potential and feels he can develop more in a new system. How about the cover 2 here in Buffalo Julius? I will tell you what, you can play opposite of Schobel and next to Marcus Stroud. Oh and too boot, we will sign Vilma as our middle linebacker. How does that sound in your front seven? You are 29 in a couple of days, how does 4 yrs and 50 million sound?
Anyone?
WHY and HOW????
Has Ralph truly lost ALL of his marbles??? Jauron is coming back for not just one more year but three?? Have I missed something here?? They slapped Crowell on IR and ended his season before he had surgery and he was your leading tackler for the last two years! Instead of having him back for two thirds of the season, he couldn't play at all! Last time I saw him out on the field he had a big C embroidered on his jersey! He went from leading tackler the past two years and being a team captain to IR and now he will be released.
After this they cut Will James, a veteran presence with speed and excellent knowledge of the game as he is a seven year veteran. With an abundance of green in the defensive backfield and 5'9" Mcgee and all of the injuries they endured throughout last year, you would have thought the Bills would make the smart move and kept James. No, instead they keep not two but three TERRIBLE tight ends.
Ralph. Who in the world is negotiating contracts for your players?? Schobel gets a 7 year 50 million dollar raise?? The guy is 30 and you are telling me he is going to be a force at 37?? Come on, he is a blue collar, hard working DE that would have taken 4 years for 30 million. AND Kelsay is getting 24 million for doing WHAT exactly?? The guy has how many sacks and would be a backup on every other team in the NFL. Not to mention, your TE, Royal who gets millions and he is by far the WORST player on your offense without any real blocking or catching skills.
Jauron is a very good teacher and he has the look of an excellent businessman, but an NFL coach he is not. He never shows any real passion for the game and he never does any coaching on the field during the game. Whenever the Bills make a bad play or someone has a mental block Jauron does nothing. He shows no emotion, he doesn't address the situation or the player immediately following the play. By not confronting the situation he is being passive and a passive coach does not bode well for a young team. We need a leader with fire, aggression and someone that will actually COACH our team in the heat of the moment. Jauron is not that guy and with him as our caoch I see the Bills making no strides towards becomming a smash mouth team, let alone a playoff team.
Wake up and smell the coffee Ralph! Jauron isnt the guy for this team! Terrible coaching decisions along with HORRIBLE COACHING = 6-8!
