Name's Cyril. Inveterate New England Patriots and New York Yankees fan. How can I clash between these two rival cities for my preferred sports teams you ask? Grew up watching Patriots football from a younger age. However, I live in New Jersey and once I became a baseball fan, it's hard to stray away from pinstripe nation. Knowledgable fan of both the NFL and MLB. If you have any questions, feel free to send me an e-mail or shoot me an IM. E-mail's liryc715@yahoo.com, screenname's l i r y c 7 1 5.

How short is Danny Woodhead really?
Here's him and Zoltan Mesko paired next to former NBA center Gheorghe Muresan.
Since when did we allow 8-year olds to play on our team!? Haha

My Thoughts on the Upcoming Broncos Game
Hey guys, I just wanted to put my thoughts on the upcoming Broncos game out there and see if anyone else feels the same way or see how everyone feels. For the first time ever as a Patriots fan, I want the Patriots to lose this upcoming week. Accumulate great stats but lose the game. Why? Not because I want the Patriots to lose, but because it's inevitable in wanting the Broncos to win, and that's what I want. Tim Tebow incites inspiration. He is a God among men. The things he does on the football field is just statistically improbable. But he gets it done every week. I'm a very religious Christian and I have my thoughts there but I'll reserve them because I don't want to offend anyone. But religion aside, just look at the greatness that is wearing #15 in Denver. You are experiencing the stuff of legend whenever Tim Tebow steps on the field. The kid is special. I want him in the playoffs. I am a believer. I want the non-believers and the physicists who claim that him winning the Super Bowl is impossible to choke on their words. Of course when it matters, my heart will always go to the Patriots first. So if the Patriots have to face the Broncos in the playoffs, there is no doubt that my heart will be for the Patriots to win. But if the Patriots somehow were to lose in the playoffs, and not to the Broncos, I'd be rooting for Tebow to advance and win the Lombardi trophy. If you've managed to get through this entire post, kudos. Yes, I have a man crush on Timothy Tebow. Is it that obvious? But anyway, I feel like I'm the only Patriots fan who in his heart will want the Broncos to win this upcoming week. Am I? Let me hear your thoughts. And whatever the end result next Sunday, let's all hope for an injury-free game!
Just remember guys, "Any Given Sunday..."
We Pats fans are blessed to cheer for a team that has had so much success on and off the field, but don't ever take it for granted. Every game is sacred, and all games are losable. So if you've already marked this week's game down in the win column, buy yourself a freshly-baked humble pie and take a bite.
Recognition for Marima and PP at Yahoo! Sports!

Keep doing your thing Marima! Making Pulpiteers proud everywhere. :-)
The day we've all been waiting for!
TB12 has FINALLY cut his long locks! I know he trimmed it in the offseason and we appreciated that he did but I don't know about you guys but I still wasn't a fan of his 'do. I missed the old "business as usual" 'do and now it's back! Hooray!
Will tonight's game be shown on TV?
Hey guys. Pats fan from Pats Pulpit here. I live in northern New Jersey, about an hour away from New York City so my cable is broadcasted from NYC. Does anyone know if tonight's Giants/Patriots game will be broadcasted on any of the local TV channels? I didn't want to make a whole fanpost asking my question and didn't know where else to post this. Thanks guys and here's to an injury-free preseason finale! That's all I can concede to you guys because there are still very hard feelings from the Super Bowl. ;-)
A Fantastic Piece on Robert Kraft, a must-read
I know I'm not alone in my thoughts, but I for one think the world of Mr. Kraft and am damn proud to have him as our owner. He is a man of class, honor, and dignity who puts family before anything else, and the well-being of fans and America before his business interests. This season will be for Mr. and the late Mrs. Kraft.
"Of course, it hurts when one of your most beloved players jumps into the arms of your No. 1 enemy. Some players won't do it. In 2008, Troy Brown, knowing his fabulous run in New England was up, was offered a contract by the Jets.
He retired."
- Rich Cimini
Although I don't like the guy too much (he's the Mike Reiss of the Jets), and I often feel he has no idea what he's talking about, he does now.
Jets fans over at GGN are going crazy about the Shaun Ellis signing, crying over Ellis's misplaced loyalty. I feel blessed as a Patriots fan because for the most part, once players come to New England, they stick around. Kudos to Troy Brown.
2011 Fantasy Football: Patriots to draft ; Stay Away From
As the 2011 fantasy football season comes upon us, it's time to examine the New England Patriots players that you should and should not draft or pick up in your league. I wish this was a perfect world and I could say to pick up every Patriot you see and that they will all help you win your league championship, but unfortunately, that's not the case. Hopefully every Patriot player will contribute to getting us a Lombardi trophy but they won't always be the best options for you to win your league trophy. Follow me across the jump to get started on analysis.

Hate Him or Love Him, You Gotta Respect Him - Peyton Manning a Class Act, Refusing Top Dollar
Peyton Manning is making a selfless move by refusing the top dollar contract the Colts want to give him in order for them to save money to sign more players. The Patriots/Colts rivalry is a bitter one but times like these, I have nothing but respect for #18. Kudos.
18-1 Was The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Us
You read the title right. By this point, you probably think I'm a maniac or someone who was just looking to play a practical joke on the site. Honestly, after reading and re-reading and re-re-re-re-re-reading the statement I had written above, I was ready to book myself into a mental institution. So you're right for thinking that. How on Earth could what was supposed to be a perfect season instead culminating with the biggest Super Bowl upset in history not in our favor be the best event that ever took place? Okay, maybe I exaggerated with the title. It really isn't the best thing that ever happened to us. That would have to be a tie between Super Bowls 36, 38, and 39. I honestly can't choose between the holy trine. In actuality, it was the best thing that has happened to us in the past five years. But that end to what had been the greatest regular season run in NFL history stopped us from being corrupt Patriots fans and molded us into the best Patriots fans we could ever be. Alright, enough of the prolonged introduction. You're still thinking of stamping 'insane' right onto my SB Nation profile. So I'll stop leading you guys on and get on with it.
Read why 18-1 (it pains me to say it so just refer to the title of this article) after the jump!

Reflecting Upon a Few Key Interest Points from 45-3
Good day. Name's Cyril and I've been a Pulpiteer for about a year. This is one of my favorite Patriots blogs because I can learn so much more about the team from a bunch of inveterate fans than all the sports analysts who just copy each other and repeat the same exact things over and over again. I've never seen myself as a major contributor, just a bystander. But I always have a lot to say. The other day, I had quite a bit to say about the future of our runningback position so I decided to start writing and I didn't stop until I was done. I didn't know if it were any good an article but apparently, atleast 4 people on the site like it so that's really motivated me to step up and try to write more.
Last night was the greatest 60-minute performance the Patriots have put up all season and I call myself blessed to have seen every last minute of it. Every week, my mood is based upon the Patriots game and let me tell you. I'm on cloud nine until Sunday! Today, I'm going to talk about a couple aspects I very much enjoyed about last night's game. Feel free to add on to the list and offer constructive criticism in your comments.
Sorry for the prolonged introduction, the real content after the jump!

It's all about the Rush
Didn't think you'd see a fanpost not about the Jets vs Patriots Monday Nighter did ya? Well I for one am sick of all the storylines that are being made for the game. It was good to read about the tiebreakers and playoff ramifications at one site but then I had to read through 100 variations of them by 100 other writers. And don't get me wrong, I could easily just stop reading these articles but I always hope in my mind that at some point while reading the article, I'll learn a new piece of information that I didn't already know. That's not usually the case. So to the sportswriters of America, please stop making up new storylines that have absolutely nothing to do with anything but just feature a whole lot of numbers you crunched so it looks like it's meaningful. Let's just watch the game and hope that the Patriots win, because in this parity-filled year of the NFL, there's no statistic you can turn to to back up your prediction that the Patriots are going to win, or that the Jets are going to win. If the Browns can beat the Patriots, you know you can't make a healthy prediction of who is going to win an NFL game.
Anyway, I've been rambling for no reason. I was telling you what this article is not going to be about and in the process, you just had to read a whole paragraph about the Jets/Patriots game and why this article is not about it so I guess I'm a bit hypocritical. My apologies.
Read about what this article is really about after the jump!

Defensive QB Leonhard out
The New York Jets are going to be without their "defensive field general," SS Jim Leonhard on Monday. Leonhard injured his shin in a collision with WR Patrick Turner as the two went up for the ball, late in practice, the Jets’ last full session before their game at Foxborough. Read more about it from the link provided.
Welkerless Patriots will be just 'OK'?
What do you think? Do you think the New England Patriots without star wide receiver Wes Welker will be just 'OK' in the playoffs? A recent Shutdown Corner blog post on Yahoo! got me thinking. If the Patriots were bound to go deep into the playoffs and maybe even reach the Super Bowl, then they can still manage to do so without Welker. Julian Edelman is no Welker, obviously. He plays with the same style, he's about the same size, and he can make a defender miss in the open field just like Welker. But the route running, footwork, precision, timing, that's all exclusive to Welker. Still, Tom Brady has made a career out of giving a name to no-name receivers such as Reche "No Hands" Caldwell, Troy Brown, and Wes Welker. None of these guys were even heard about before Tom Brady and Tom Brady got them to the Super Bowl and gave them great years. Hopefully, he can work his art with Edelman too. He was a college quarterback, so he doesn't have the hands of Welker. He'll drop a few passes, some to end drives, but hopefully nothing too crucial. As I was saying, if the Patriots were bound to go deep in the playoffs, they can do it with the rest of their team. With Fred Taylor back, he can re-take the starting rusher role and dominate the rushing game for us, something Maroney has tried and failed to do many times. And by the way, thank God we even have Edelman, a Welker-type-B to replace Welker. Thank God it's not Moss we have to replace. I'm starting to like our back-up receivers: Stanback, Tate, Aiken, Baker, they're all great under Brady. Our offensive line hasn't skipped a beat, so guys like Logan Mankins will still make room for the rush and guys like Light will still protect Brady and give him the time he needs. But the question is, were we meant for a deep playoff run? Were we even meant to win one playoff game? Forget Welker for a second. Focus on the defense. Our corners aren't that bad, but sometimes, they get burned. None of them can play island, so even if we can get past the Ravens, receivers like Reggie Wayne will burn through our secondary. We're a defense that starts up front. From Warren-Burgess-Wilfork to Mayo-Thomas-Seau-Banta Cain. Try getting through those roadblocks. Still, our back is as important as our front and we just don't have a back. Nontheless, I believe the Patriots were meant for a deep playoff run. Even if we can't win the Super Bowl, or even get there, I believe we still have a chance at the AFC championship. Sorry that I keep saying 'we.' Yes, I know, I'm not a Patriot, you're not a Patriot, so I should be saying 'the Patriots.' Forgive me, it's by habit. So what do you think? Do you think the New England Patriots will be just 'OK' without Welker? Do you think they were destined for a deep playoff run? And on a side note, I'd like to hear everyone's Wild Card Weekend predictions. Good night!

Is there any more Julius Peppers?
Are there any more rumors about Julius Peppers becoming a Patriot? We've freed up some space with the loss of Seymour and Vrabel and Cassel and Peppers has said he wants to come to New England. What's the deal? Wow, they need this to be atleast 75 words long? That's an outrage. What if I don't want to type 75 words? Well, this should do it. Apparently, not. This should do it though.
