The Ralphie Report Buffalo Beheaded? There must be justice

Hopefully, from a butchershop and not a local ranch....

Residents of a house in the 900 block of 18th Street found a severed buffalo head in their front yard early Sunday morning -- but it wasn't Ralphie's, according to Boulder police.

Upon retrieving the disembodied bison head, police said they checked with the University of Colorado, and concluded it didn't belong to CU's renowned mascot, Ralphie V.

"That was a concern," Boulder police spokeswoman Kim Kobel said. "We checked with CUPD and we checked with Ralphie's handlers. She is fine."

Perkins and Lockridge out for the season.....

We are running low at depth at both secondary and running back...

Maybe Terrel Smith will step up and get some playing time after the rave reviews of him this summer

The Ralphie Report Friday Wandering Thoughts

Where do you guys think the Buffs would be had Colt Brennan not been booted from CU.  Word is he is moving into the backup QB position with the Redskins.

It has always been something that got lost amid other stories, but we have had QB trouble since Klatt and Brennan went on to break a bunch of records down in Hawaii.  Do you guys think Colt Brennan would have made CU better, or do you think he was a product of the system at Hawaii?

Just bored on a Friday and my mind was wandering......

The Ralphie Report Cody Glenn - Ticket Scalper?

http://boards.espn.go.com/boards/mb/mb?sport=ncaa&id=158&tid=4650597&tsn=1

This has kind of been under the radar, but it appears to be a blatant NCAA rules violation that went unreported.  If Cody Glenn did sell tickets, I don't blame really blame him as there are so many rules to follow it would be easy to make this mistake.  But, if NU knew about it, and in fact suspended him for it, then they they covered it up, I hope they throw the book at them.  NU has stated that there was no ticket incident but they will not say why he was suspended from the team.

The NCAA has already set bad precedents in my opinion by penalizing teams that report minor infractions (CU - Meal pricing) and ignoring violations that were not self-reported but widely recognized (USC, Reggie Bush - House).

Do I think Nebraska should lose scholarships because a player made a few bucks on the side?  - No.  But should they get slapped if they lied about it? - Hell Yes.

The Ralphie Report Good Piece by former Buff R.J. Brown

http://www.dailycamera.com/news/2009/mar/29/cherish-the-opportunity-to-prove-yourself/

This piece was buried in the Buffzone Blog....  Very well written piece and I think it would be a great read for any Buffs fan.

---------------------

"For four years, I ran as hard and lifted as hard as my body could handle. I tried to approach every day with the mentality of an underdog.  Because -- let's be honest -- I was."

This is the type of positive attitude that the Buffs need to carry into the season!

Is it football season yet?

The Ralphie Report FSU Forfeiture Implications

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3958292

"The Florida State football team faces forfeiture of wins, four years of probation, scholarship reductions and other penalties due to former staff members' involvement in what the NCAA described Friday as "major violations" stemming from academic fraud."

"It is not immediately clear how many games will have to be forfeited."

I wonder if CU will get another W for the 2007 Season?  I'll take anything we can get at this point, ha!

The Ralphie Report It is Friday and I hate my job

Well, its not that bad actually I guess.  Beats diggin ditches.

I was just thinking that it would be bad ass if CU wore Black on Black against Nebraska at home next year, and then came out with black throwback helmets.

And then beat the hell out of the huskers......

Don't tell me it can't be done, cause it can be done.

Is that so much to ask?

 So let's go Buffaloes!!!!!

The Ralphie Report Next Season

CSU - W
Miami,OH - W
Wyoming - W
WVU - Unknown
Texas - L
Kansas - W
KSU - W
Mizzou - Unknown
TA&M - W
ISU - W
OSU - Unknown
Nebraska at home - W

I think we have to be at 8+ wins next year. Schedule is not as lethal as it was this year. If we can get consistent QB and Line play, we are going to start rolling.  Hawk has stated 10 wins and I would be more than OK with that.  Texas will be tough but you never know what Mizzou, OSU, and WVU will come up with next year.

What does everyone think??

The Ralphie Report Helfrich and the Offense

Now I am by no means an expert, but I really am concerned with CU's Offense and in particular all of the comments I have heard from Helfich and even Hawkins in the Media regarding the performance on offense.

It sounds like each week they are putting in a whole new offensive scheme.  And if you were to look at film each week, you would not know this is the same team playing each week.  What they threw at CSU was not what they threw at WVU, and What they threw at Texas was not what they threw at Missouri etc....

I understand that Hawk likes to be contrarian and they have shown no offensive tendencies except lacking execution, but I feel like you should not be creating your offense each week to best attack a defense.  You should have an offense that plays to your strengths and then tailor it each week to capitalize on defensive shortcomings.

We have had a ton of injuries this year, but that doesn't explain a pure lack of execution.  I think injuries combined without constant change and uncertainty has crippled our offense and I hope that they can get something going in a positive direction in the final 3 games of the season.

Anyone agree with me?

The Ralphie Report This season....

is so damn frustrating.

I missed this game because I was in Mexico, but after watching the highlights ("lowlights"),  I am glad I was out of the country.  Luckily only one jackass on the beach saw I had a Buffs shirt on shook his head disapprovingly.

I just don't understand how this offense cannot seem to get the ball into the hands of D. Scott, Stewart, and Josh Smiths hands.   Watching Darrell Scott this year has been so frustrating.  He needs to get the ball 25-30 per game... This crap with 3 or 4 carries per half is ridiculous.  Of all of his carries, he either has no hole and is met at the line of scrimmage or he makes people miss and gets like 8 yards.  Keep feeding him the ball. The Spread sucks, I wish they would just line up and run the damn ball.  Throw in some play action and some screens (To Stewart and Scott).  It is apparent we don't have strong quarterback play, but Helfrich seems dead set on running plays that require outstanding play from the QB's.  We are asking them to do too much.

I am rambling now.  At this point I would much rather just see this team improve, We need a bowl game, if only for the extra repetitions.
