Twenty three year old Mariners fan for as long I can remember, living just outside Philadelphia. I'm originally from Central PA, and played a decent bit of baseball in High School. After graduating from the University of the Sciences with a Bachelors degree in Biology, I'm attending the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. I will graduate with a Doctor of Optometry in 2012. I have a two year old cat named Felix Abraham.

Silva completely awesome...
Glad he's doing a nice job working on pitches...
"Starter Carlos Silva tested out his cutter for the first time in a game this spring and it was not terribly effective. Most of the seven consecutive hits he allowed in the fifth inning came on that pitch." -per Mariners website, and everyone's favorite Jim Street.

Lets hope he can use that pitch to his advantage throughout the year. God I hate this regime.
MLB 2K8 the greatest game ever...
In the 7th inning stretch they CHART IT! bringing up a win probability chart. I'm duly impressed, Jeff did you have your hands in this game at all!?
Mets frontrunners for Bedard!-
Thanks Omar... sounds like the Mets might be stealing Bedard. Thank Jebus.

Secret to Gil Meche's Success
He's obviously not Gil Meche...
He must have used the boatloads of cash to find and pay someone who actually doesn't suck to be him. He got larger, tanner, and angrier, and really doesn't look like the Gil Meche who's scared of puppies and leaves that we all remember. It's a Royals conspiracy, and that is not Gil Meche.
Highlight of my baseball fan career...
Definitely caught and threw back Youkilis' homer at Citizens Bank Park last night. A woman in my row gave me a free beer for it. I felt liberated, like the prisoners in the Shawshank Redemption.
300 Character Fact: The magic word 'Abracadabra' was originally intended for the specific purpose of curing hay fever.
Doyle Update:
Game winning 3-run homer in the 8th to beat the Mets. Good for the lad. Let's hope he makes the team.
300 Character Fact: Seattle should NOT have traded Chris Snelling.

I think everyone knows what I'm getting at, if this works, I see no reason for not trying it on opening day.
300 Character Fact: Fifteen people are known to have been crushed to death tilting drinks machines towards them in the hope of a free can of soda.
Livingston moved again???
"MLB nullified Tampa Bay's waiver claim of LHP Bobby Livingston and subsequent trade of Livingston to Philadelphia; assigned Livingston to the Reds on a waiver claim.
Interesting. MLB finally takes offense at some roster shenanigans for the just about the first time in decades, deciding that the Phillies' move to pay the Rays to claim Livingston off waivers was inappropriate. Since that was nullified, the Reds, who also put in a claim, were awarded the soft-tossing left-hander. Livingston was 8-11 with 4.59 ERA, 165 H, 69/36 K/BB in 135 1/3 IP for Triple-A Tacoma last season. He likely has no more than fifth-starter upside, and his performance last year suggests he doesn't have a future in the majors. The Reds will likely put him at Triple-A Louisville."

Maybe MLB will decide that Bavasi is an idiot and reverse the Vidro trade... or not.
Vernon Wells...
The Blue Jays confirmed that they've made an offer to Vernon Wells, who will be eligible for free agency for the first time after next season.
Yahoo! Sports' Tim Brown reported it was $126 million over seven years.
Insane amount of money, comparable to the Soriano deal. These contracts are really getting out of hand.
