Duke transfer Michael Gbinije is visiting Syracuse now and remains the favorite to land the 6-6 SF, sources told @SNYtv— Adam Zagoria (@AdamZagoria) April 28, 2012
Chilling with my brodie mike gbinije we out here #CuseNation— Rakeem Christmas (@R_Xmas25) April 28, 2012
Looking good. Plus, Coach K isn't being a d-bag like so many other college coaches. Don't forget, Gbinije would essentially be transferring within the conference if he comes to Cuse.
Mohamad Sanu prank-called in first round of 2012 NFL Draft
Which one of you did this? I have my suspicions...
Israel club hires Bernie Fine
"Sources close to the situation told ESPN.com that Maccabi Bazan Haifa of the Israeli Basketball Super League will announce Thursday in Israel that Fine has been hired as a basketball consultant to the team, which is owned by Florida-based businessman Jeffrey Rosen."
Never a dull moment!
"@Tigersfan4444: @MooMoo25 how'd you get the nickname of moomoo?"--my mom jus came up wit it..— Jerami Grant (@MooMoo25) April 15, 2012
While we are losing a Scoop, we are adding a MooMoo. It wouldn't be a Syracuse game without a color commentator clarifying, "They aren't booing..."
Cuse fans haven't been this disappointed with a recruit since mike Vick went to v tech and they were stuck with me. #1998 #nerlens— Troy Nunes (@troynunes) April 12, 2012
This is all I can think of going into tonight's Nerlens Noel announcement. It's a shame we can have a bunch of Syracuse fans standing behind him as he makes his announcement to either celebrate or boo him loudly and then leave.

Well, we know where Fab would like Nerlens to go.

A lot of coaches cheat. A lot of coaches lose control of their programs, or don't care to exercise it in the first place. But, in the history of the game, only one coach has had two Final Four teams taken down. This is a remarkable historical achievement. When Kentucky gets close to winning this year, I predict that nobody on television will bring this up, although I'll buy a cookie for the first analyst who says, "What's the over/under number on Vacated? I put it at eight months."
Everybody Wants a Piece of Nerlens Noel - NYTimes, Pete Thamel
Very interesting article about the recruitment of Nerlens Noel. He clearly has some people in his ear giving bad advice, trying to take advantage of him. The most concerning part of the article to me as a fan comes at the end where it says that his basketball development has stagnated.
The Scandal Is What The Media’s NCAA Scandal Cops Think Is A Scandal - Deadspin
Deadspin waxes on the Cuse "drug scandal" and how ridiculous the media and NCAA are being. It's a decent read that is pretty firmly planted in reality.

Kentucky claws its way to top spot, as Syracuse drops in Rankings - Luke Winn - SI.com
Luke Winn doesn't even talk about the team's play, instead addressing the Nike Hyper Elite Platinum mess. In the process he links to TNIAAM and also gives a photo credit. Nice. I think that's the 2nd time he's referenced our favorite site - at least he knows where to go to get the scoop (heh) on the team. He also has a scathing opinion of the dystopian college basketball universe that Nike is attempting to create. Solid read, he keeps it interesting.
"It's funny about zone defenses,'' Boeheim noted. "When a man-to-man coach is coaching and they make three or four straight, he says, 'We have to play better defense.' The other day, my wife asked me, 'Can't you play man-to-man?' I even get it at home.''
2 men plan to sue Syracuse over coach sex abuse
Bobby Davis and Mike Lang have hired Gloria Allred to sue Syracuse University. And just a day after Cuse ascends to #1.

#BernieFine accuser Zach Tomaselli will file civil lawsuit 2morrow in Pittsburgh.
"This http://www.AndersonAdvocates.com is the lawfirm representing #BernieFine accuser Zach Tomaselli in a civil lawsuit against #BernieFine"
"#BernieFine is the only person to be named in the civil suit according to the attorney working with accuser Zach Tomaselli."
Jason Whitlock interviews Zach Tomaselli
This should be interesting. It's an hour long. On twitter Whitlock says, "Tomaselli says he believes Schwarz leaked his story to Post-Standard." For those keeping score at home, pretty sure that's what Whitlock hypothesized the other day - his conspiracy theory was that Schwarz leaked it to the P-S so P-S could report on 3rd accuser and free up ESPN to drop the tape. As we all know by know, of course, Schwarz put Tomaselli in contact with Bobby Davis. I'm sure this comes up in the interview. And it just continues to boggle my mind at how inappropriate it was - especially before Tomaselli had gone to police.
Syracuse Criticized for Its Handling of Sexual Abuse Case
"You would be hard pressed to say that the thing was investigated the way that it should have been in 2005," Fitzpatrick said. "As we all know, the complaining witness had an audio tape that corroborated a lot of what he has to say. I find it unusual that the kid didn’t make it available. I didn’t see anything in the report indicating he was asked."
As if Fitzpatrick is the authority on how this should have been investigated? Roach says she called the DA's office! Further, as Nancy Cantor writes in her letter to USA Today, "We also learned that the police had been informed in 2002 of the allegations, and that the news media had also investigated the claims but could not confirm the story...Why didn't we go to the DA? In our experience, the police and the DA are synonymous. We had no reason to believe differently in this case."
Not to mention, what does Fitzpatrick mean, "I didn’t see anything in the report indicating he was asked [about the tape]." Why would the hell would SU ask, "Hey, Bobby, by any chance are you withholding some smoking gun audio of a telephone conversation that would convince pretty much everyone in America of your claims?"
SI.com - Fine scandal at Syracuse another dark cloud, but it's not Penn State
SI.com - Syracuse made right decision in firing assistant coach Bernie Fine
These two SI writers are not ready to string up Coach Boeheim. In the second Seth Davis also takes a paragraph to knock DA Fitzpatrick and his lack of professionalism, comparing him to Mike Nifong from the Duke lax scandal.
Bernie Fine's wife had abuse concerns
And a Third Accuser who is currently 23 has come forward.
This is awful. Absolutely horrible. Apologies to Bobby Davis, Mike Lang, Danielle Roach, and Mark Schwarz for any doubts I had.

Top NYC recruit rejects Syracuse over scandal
Sophomore Isaiah Whitehead from Lincoln HS is crossing Syracuse off his list, per his mother.
Two other potential recruits, Jermaine Lawrence and Chris McCullough, indicated that they would need to know more before making a decision. Which is both fair and rational.
Syracuse, NY -- Bernie Fine, the assistant Syracuse basketball coach who is the subject of a Syracuse police investigation into charges of molestation, released a statement today to the media denying the charges leveled against him.
The statement was released about 3:20 p.m. today by Karl J. Sleight, a partner with Harris Beach law office in Albany.
"Simply put, these allegations are patently false in every aspect. The fact is these allegations have been thoroughly investigated multiple times. When evaluating the veracity of these accusations, please keep in mind that credible media outlets were approached in the past to publicize these false allegations and declined to do so. I fully cooperated with all past inquires.
"Sadly, we live in an allegation-based society and an internet age where in a matter of minutes one's life long reputation can be severely damaged. I am confident that, as in the past, a review of these allegations will be discredited and restore my reputation. I hope the latest review of these allegations will be conducted expeditiously.
"Finally, I appreciate the Chancellor’s statement that I should be accorded a fair opportunity to defend myself against these accusations. I fully intend to do so. There should never be a rush to judgment when someone’s personal integrity and career are on the line."

check out what our ACC-bound brethren just did against Long Beach State. Yikes.
Curtis Brinkley scores his first NFL TD
Curtis Brinkley having a BIG game. Had three straight plays to tie the game. First he made an impressive catch on a 20 yard wheel route. Then he went over the top for a TD. Finally, down 20-18, he caught a pass from Rivers and barely got the ball across the plane for a 2 pt conversion. Just now he leapt over his own center for a first down. Kid is playing his heart out. Proud that he's a Syracuse alum. He's been through a lot, makes me happy to see him succeeding like this tonight.
