Blazer's Edge tony luftman

about 45 minutes from now the blazers will the rockets in what will be the biggest game of the season and in turn the biggest game since game 7 of the 03 series with dallas. about 15 minutes from now pregame coverage will start. it is these types of days that i have longed for while the blazers rebuilt from the ground up to get back to this point. so why am i not more excited? because i know before i can watch joel and yao take to center court for the opening tip, ill have to sit through the longest half hour in sports, the blazer pre game show hosted by tony luftman. every time i watch tony attempt to do his job i get angry. apparently the only requirements to be the blazers studio host were to speak english and smile constantly. i have been watching him for 2 seasons and i remained unconvinced that he truly knows anything about the game of basketball. i used to think that he along with "coach" holton were comically bad, but at this point im no longer laughing. i know that im not the only one to feel this way about what is FAR AND AWAY the biggest problem with this organization. im too dumb and lazy to do it myself, but somebody needs to make a website with the point of firing his @ss. if there is already such a website, which there should be, put up the link. were a playoff team again, we can do better than tony luftman.

Blazer's Edge back up pgs

after seeing todays game i feel like its time to call to action a push for a veteran backup pg. i see success in both jerryd and sergios future, but right now they arent playing well enough to merit even 5 to 10 minutes a game. they both look tenative and unconfident. i know i wasnt the only one who wouldnt have minded letting a go of a second rounder or cash to get a jaques vaughn, brevin knight, anthony johnson, tyronne lue, etc. just someone to provide more consistancy and stability to the 2nd unit while giving it the same veteran influence that blake gives the first unit. now that the deadline has passed though i wouldnt mind even seeing a d league guy get a 10 day audition. mateen cleaves comes to mind perhaps..

Blazer's Edge can we stop please

I dont make many fanposts, but I need to ask the intelligent, insiteful, I'm sure wonderful people who comment on this site of a favor. please PLEASE PUHHHLEEEEZZZ stop debating oden vs. durant. i realize everyone has an opinion on the subject, and I realize it is an interesting basketball debate with a lot of angles to consider, but goodness people, we get to follow a team fighting for playoff positioning and our first division title since the divisions were reformatted. how come so many blazer fans would rather talk about what they shouldve done in 07 draft? one other thing on the subject: i felt so strongly that the blazers needed to reconsider kevin durant that i made the first and last blog post on my now erased myspace. it was my first blogging experience ever. i say this only to pose the question, where were all the durant supporters then? cuz all i heard were a bunch of people who had let the talking heads on ESPN decided their opinion for them. am i way off base here? or does anyone else feel like we as blazer fans should focus our energy on more pressing matters, such as who should be getting the backup pg minutes? (bay bay, but im not stoked on either one)

Blazer's Edge brandon roy vs...

a buddy of mine got into what is becoming an age old debate for blazer fans. who would you take instead of broy? its a list a guys that is shrinking and im sure will continue to shrink. today though, a little before 2 pm on friday, what guys would you rather have? to me, there are only couple of guys that you dont need to think about (CP3, LeBron, Kobe, Dwight Howard, Tim Duncan) and a lot of guys you could debate either way (Melo, Yao, Dirk, Nash, Amare, Caron Butler, Bynum, Paul Pierce, many more...) so what do you guys think?

Blazer's Edge trade idea

RLEC, sergio, and channing frye for luol deng and kirk hinrich. to me each team wins. the bulls are 10th in the east currently trying to stay in the playoff picture. it seems though that they looking to build for the future around derrick rose, so they would welcome two expiring contracts and the chance to get rid of hinrich, who has been decent to good as a bull but rose is clearly going to be the better long term player. the blazers get a serious upgrade at the point guard spot, as well as a talented SF who would give them a starter who will play more than 12 minutes a night.

Blazer's Edge Ike Diogu is leeeegiiit

I am proclaiming myself the biggest Ike Diogu fan on this site. Have been since he was at ASU. Any pro athlete who is also a true gamer on the sticks is way cool with me. Theres gotta be a nickname for my man, any suggestions? Apparently fan posts have to be 75 words so I have to keep typing until that is the case with the post you are reading. If you didn't know Ike before this year you should youtube him for an idea of what a baller he is. Heres to hoping hes in PDX for a good while.

Blazer's Edge keep RLEC?

This is my first BE fanpost. I wanted to throw out a hypothetical. IF the blazers keep RLEC would it be so bad? Now that they owe DMiles mad cash it might be a good idea to hold onto an expiring contract covered by insurance. The beauty of having such a young team is that you may not have to trade to upgrade talent, you may just have to wait for guys to improve. Guys like Bayless or Sergio or Troutlaw are going to have a higher trade value in a few years anyway, so would it really be that bad to just pocket the money? (You know KP's gonna do something draft night anyway...)
