I am a HUGE Chiefs fan who lives in Independence, Missouri- a suburb of KC that looks like it's taking a bite out of KC (which it is- if you look at all the KCers who have moved to Indy). I do not believe in sunshine, fair weather or bandwagon fans- whatever you want to call them- that root for the flavor of the month. You root for the team closest to where you live and wait 'til it is your team's turn for success and say you were there all along and watched the rebuilding process from ground zero up- and never wavered! In the case of the Chiefs the same ownership, basically, the Hunt family, is in place from when the Chiefs were successful not long ago. So... seeing more success in the near tern is not at all far-fetched. But I also like the Chiefs colors (in touch with my feminine side- if I actually have one!) and their top-notch organization. Their recent tribute to autistic football player Kyle Weafer is proof that even if the Chiefs are not that successful on the field- they are successful in other ways that are often more important. I could give endless examples of this kind of thing. I can root for their on-field performance and, more often that not lately, lose- but I never lose when I root for their off-field activities. That being said, I still hunger and thirst for Chiefs victories on the field to make fun of all of my friends and co-workers who have jumped ship to the latest fashionista team (almost sounds like "fascist"- I like that) and would then have to deal with wrathful Chiefs fans like me. WHEN the Chiefs have success, and the current regime sure looks good, I would not want to be on of these traitors!
