What Happened?

Saturday was a beautiful day here in North Carolina, so I decided to take my 4 year old daughter to the State Fair in Raleigh. I knew I would miss the Texas-ISU game, and I really wanted to see the Longhorns finally dominate someone, but I got my priorities straight and made my daughter happy. While at the fair and in a long line for the ferris wheel, I get a call from a friend in Iraq asking what's wrong with my Texas boys? "What you mean?" I asked. Then he tells me we lost to Iowa St. at home. I hate to say it because I like to consider myself a fan through and through, but I wasn't totally sad because I figured someone would SURELY be fired (and no, not Mack Brown) after this season. So my question to the BONers who saw the game is what are the main reasons for this loss? I automatically assumed GD, but I may be wrong (probably not). I'm probably being lazy by not looking up highlights of the game, but I really don't wanna see them or read a recap by politically correct sportswriters. Give it to me straight.

Texas Defensive Coordinator

One thought that came across my mind: when the Muschamp era becomes official at Texas, who becomes our defense coordinator? I know Coach Boom will still have his hands on it, but do we hire a body for the sake of having a DC, go after a up-and-coming DC, or does Muschamp have a young protege (maybe in the DII ranks) we don't know about yet?

It's official. OU is the bigger BCS bust

As a junior last season, cornerback Deon Beasley recorded 40 tackles. Beasley has posted 84 tackles, 16 passes broken up, three interceptions, six tackles for a loss, a sack and a fumble recovery during his career. He helped Texas rank first in the Big 12 in scoring defense, total defense and rushing defense in 2008. Beasley is the only senior cornerback on the Texas roster this upcoming season.
