The Phinsider Question about Weather before today's game...

Whats up everyone.  I hope that everyone is having a wonderful holiday season filled with joy, happiness and most importantly time spent with your family and loved ones.

I am in the fantasy football finals this week and I had a couple quick questions before the games started today at 1pm.

I was seeing a pretty grusome weather reports in MIA today at 1pm.  20mph winds?  Can any confirm this with me? I am going to start Brandon Marshall no matter what but I also have DC$ and seeing these weather factors earlier in the week, I picked up Josh Brown in case it was needed to swap out DC$ bc of the really bad weather conditions for a kicker.

So, can you guys please let me know ASAP if I should leave in DC$ and roll with him or just start Josh Brown in a dome v. the 49ers? Maybe 20mph = a 70 yard FG for DC$?  lol

Thank you everyone for your help, as I am sure everyone knows, its hard to trust weather forecasts so I thought one of the friendly phinsiders could help me out when they saw this message.  Also, thanks to the people that have helped out and answered / responded with their advice.  It means a lot.  Cheers to a repeat Title!!!

Todays Lineup:

QB- Michael Vick v. MIN

WR- Brandon Marshall v. DET

WR- Dwayne Bowe v. TEN

WR- Vincent Jackson @ CIN

RB- Michael Turner v. NO

RB- Thomas Jones v, TEN

TE- Vernon Davis @ STL

K- Dan Carpenter v. Det or Josh Brown v. SFO

DEF- Miami Dolphins Defense

QB Ben Roethlisberger NYJ CAR
RB Michael Turner @SEA NOR
RB Thomas Jones @STL TEN
RB Tim Hightower @CAR DAL

WR Dwayne Bowe @STL TEN
WR Danny Amendola KAN SFO

1.) Who do I start at RB #2?  Thomas Jones @ STL or Tim Hightower @CAR?

2.) Who do I start at WR #3?  Danny Amendola v. KC or Vincent Jackson v. SFO?

3.) How awesome would it be if Miami started catching INTs and running them back for TDs (Its OK with me if they want to start this week).  Also, hope your all ready to watch Brandon Marshall put on a SHOW this weekend!!!

Thanks everyone.

The Phinsider Fantasy Football Question

Some quick fire questions this week

Who do you start in week 11?

Vick v. G-Men or Big Ben v. OAK (both players at home)

Miami Defense v. CHI OR New Orleans Defense v. the Seahawks?

Danny Amendola v. ATL  or Robert Meachem v. SEA (I get credit for return yards 1/2 credit)

Thomas Jones v. ARI or Darren Sproles v. DEN

All Help appreciated, batting for the playoffs right now and I have been waiting for Brandon Marshall to pop off like he did last year for me around this time of the season and lead me directly to my first Fantasy Football title.  I would be happy to help you guys out too so that we can share our knowledge.

Hope to get some good feedback on this one.  Go Dolphins.

Pinstripe Alley Trade Proposal

I just thought about this trade proposal for the the Yankees and it is completely unconnected to our assumed attempts to sign Cliff Lee this offseason.  The more pitchers we can get, the better.  Granted, both our pitching and our hitting fell asleep in the ALCS but I really think that we need to just "hope" the Yankee offense can turn things around and really focus on our rotation and Bullpen.

Heres the trade:

Phil Hughes and Jesus Montero for Zach Greinke and Soria.

I will let you know that I am not a very big Phil Hughes fan, never really have been.  I think that he got all of his wins when the Yankees were putting up a crocked # in the early innings and Phil Hughes didnt really have to worry about pitching a shutout.  At times he looked great but 2-3 of his pitching performances were awful in the playoffs.  I don't trust him at all.  I mean in reality, do you have see this guy winning a 1-0 game?  Because I don't.  He has lost velocity on his fastball and hes hes not even 25 years old.

I also realize Greinke has some "anxiety issues" and we would have to somehow talk to him about he feels about NY and Soria is just great and could be a great setup man and maybe even a possible replacement for Rivera (in 5 years since Rivera is not even a human being).

You may think we are giving up a lot but we also already have another catching prosepct.  Let me know what you thnik of this deal.  Would Greinke's anxiety issues be too much to overlook in New York?

The Phinsider Trading Down to get Odrick and passing on Dez Bryant

This pick really made me feel all warm and fuzzy last night.  Watching Dez Bryant be the best player on the entire Dallas Cowboy Roster and score 3Tds against the Giants made me realize that the front office was right.  We definetely were better off trading down to get Jared Odrick I mean look at Odrick this season.  He is a a game changer.  He is in on every play and you know its really though to find Defensive Linemen these days.  It would be so much harder to find the best punt returner in football / budding grossly talented WR.  I would definetly pick a defensive linemen over Dez Byrant everytime.  You can find a Dez Byrant off the street but you can't find a defensive linemen from lets say... the Canadian League.  NFL is really bringing in a ton of WRs from the UFL or Canadian league.  Thats why im so comfortable picking Jared Odrick in round 1, trading down multiple times to get him and not picking Dez Byrant.  A great decision that will definetly help our football team.

The Phinsider Vincent Jackson, an Elite WR?

Hey everyone.  I wanted to talk about Vincent Jackson... A WR for the San Diego Chargers.  As you know, Vincent Jackson has not played this year because of a contract dispute and his desire to be paid like a top 5 NFL WR.  Over my time on this site I encountered people that just rave about him and his abilities so I come here now in this post to ask you.

How good was / is Vincent Jackson really?

Does it look like the San Diego Chargers are missing Vincent Jackson?  I mean, Phillip Rivers is throwing for 400 yards a game, Antonio Gates is the best TE in the NFL and it seems like Malcolm Floyd has 200 yards every week.  So is Vincent Jackson still elite?  I always said he was the beneficiary of an offense.  Anyone believe me now?

If anything, Vincent Jackson has lost all leverage in his contract demands.  The Chargers proved that Vincent Jackson did not make the San Diego Chargers, the San Diego Chargers made him.

A Top 10 NFL WR?  A Top 20 NFL WR?  I think not, more like a top 5 bonehead for holding out and demanding money that he didn't deserve in the first place.

Go Dolphins.

Revenge of the Birds Larry Fitz Fantasy football question

What's up cards fans.  Goodluck to you this year, I have always rooted for the Cardinals especially with Mr. Warner.  I had a questions about Larry Fitzgerald's fantasy potential this year...

1.) Losing Kurt Warner and replacing him with Leinert- how bad does this hurt?

2.) Losing Boldin- will this mean more opportunies for Larry?

3.) Newly formed goal for emphasis on the running game- all i have been hearing about is how Chris Wells is going to get a ton of touches, is this true?

All your opinions are greatly apprecaited.  I have the #10 pick in the fantasy draft and I have always loved Larry.  He is just a great person and I would love to have my #1 pick be reliable and explosive.  There is no doubt in HIS ability and potential the only questions is do the Cards have a QB to allow him to fill all of his potential.

Faith, Focus, Finish.

Thanks again.

The Phinsider 2010 Fantasy Football Draft Discussion Forum

What’s up everyone, if you clicked on this post then most likely you too are preparing for the 2010 Fantasy Football draft.  Last year, I posted a fantasy football article where we exchanged our ideas, commented on players we hated / loved and also mixed in some good old Miami Dolphin talk.

I hope that this year we can do the same because last year was able to win my league after battling through a plethora of injuries only to pull it out in the end.  I lost Michael Turner and Ronnie Brown to major injuries as well as Anthony Gonzalez of the Colts on the first play of the season.  Preparing myself with trades and late round drafting I was able to start Freddie Jackson, Justin Forsett and Ahmad Bradshaw in the playoffs.  Granted, my running back staff was not my asset, my team lead was lead by Kurt Warner, Brandon Marshall, Anquan Boldin and Steve Smith (NYG).

That is simply history, it was nice to win last year but all I want is to do it again!  My league is highly competitive, “expensive”(no one should be gambling on sports) and most importantly: a ton of fun.  I would compare it to the Supreme Court; we will always have the same members until someone passes away.

Let’s get down to business; I have the #10 Pick on August 21, 2010. So, throw me out some names!  Right now, I am considering going WR-WR in a 12 team league or maybe QB-WR or if the right people fall RB-WR.  We have a 12 team league, non-keeper and obviously use a snake draft.

Here are the players I have in mind:

Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Randy Moss, Michael Turner, Larry Fitzgerald, Brandon Marshall, Calvin Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Miles Austin, Steven Jackson, Roddy White… any many more.

I don’t know if anyone enjoys Fantasy Football like I do but my friends refer to fantasy draft day as “the Christmas Morning of the summer.”

Hope to hear from you all soon,  Go Dolphins!!!

Pinstripe Alley John Flaherty

Hello everyone, hope all is well.  I am writing here because I need to understand if my household is the only one that absolutely hates John Flaherty on the YES network.  I understand that he is knowledgable of the game as a former catcher but I legitimately would rather listen to take their finger nails across a chalkboard then have to hear this mono-tone idiot on our broadcast.  I would rather listen to Joe Buck then John Flaherty.

John Flaherty's voice is worse than the oil spill in the gulf.  Everything he says is in the same exact tone.

"A homerun for Robinson Cano"

"Jeter makes the play and throws to Tex"

"I just sat on a rusty nail"

There is absolutely know change in emotion in this guys voice and it sounds like he is holding his nose everytime he says something.  It has gotten to the point where I can't even listen to the games that he does.  I will put it on mute.

Conclusion: We need to get John Flaherty off the air because he is terrible.

The Phinsider Brandon Marshall Number AGAIN

I recently saw an article that said that Brandon Marshall's #19 Dolphin Jersey was the 16th best selling jersey on NFL.com.

Whats the deal?  Is this number going to be official?  I am not going to make this a post about how dissapointed I am that he is not going to be wearing #15 this year (even though it makes me extremely upset and angry since Devone Bess could prob use the 100K that Marshall would be willing to offer him) ANYWAY, doesn't it also make you guys sick that he is going to be wearing the WR's # (Ted Ginn) that was one of the biggest dissapointments in Dolphins history?  Isn't 19 forever a tainted # in your minds?  Just watch the Colts game when the ball hit #19 in the face and neck on the Dolphin's last drive.  Maybe that will stir up some memories of good ol' ted ginn.

A lot of people don't care about superstitions and stuff but I think a number is something that is important and I really do NOT want to see him wear #19.  If it is "official" then obviously I will have to deal with it and go ahead and purchase the jersey but i guess there is still a chance he chooses something else?

Wanted to get everyone's opinions on this, enjoy your weekends!

The Phinsider marshall and boldin

marshall to the seahawks

Boldin to the ravens

i think that the dolphins have officially set themselves back another 10 years.  this is a complete joke.  do you really think that Karlos Dansy will help us win a Super Bowl?  I don't see how anyone can agree with the moves or lack there of that we have made.  We have really messed up.  Brandon Marshall could have changed Miami Dolphins football for 10 years and instead we went after a Linebacker that just isn't going to make a difference even if he is a good player.  We don't have the talent to win a playoff game and year after year since I have been a dolphins fan all i have been is completely dissapointed.  i think we really messed up, i think we over-valued our draft picks that could potentially turn into Jason allen and ted ginn and its going to come back to bite us in the ass we could actually become the new CLE Browns.  Karlos Dansy is not a game changing player.  with only 3 good defenses in the NFL (jets steelers and u can pick someone else if u want) the dolphins are trying to be the 20th ranked defenses instead of one of the worst defenses.  thats just not going to cut it.  Its not.  i am ashamed and so dissapointed and i have just about had it.

we should have traded our whole set of draft picks to get some good players instead of continuing being one of the biggest jokes in the NFL.  But instead we should try to draft ted ginn and jason allen again.  I am so dissapointed and sick of this crap

The Phinsider My Final Argument for Obtaining Brandon Marshall

Brandon Marshall
6 foot 4
25 years old

+ Chad Henne- QB whose strength IS his arm strength

+

A Great Running Game and strong O-line

= one of the best offenses in the AFC.

THE FORMULA FOR SUCCESS

Name any dominating Defense this season, every D struggled at some point this year and i believe this indicates that the game has evolved into an offensive playground .  The only time i have seen any Defense look dominant for an extended period of time and, sadly, that's the NY jets in the playoffs right now.  The best way to combat any defensive liability is a good offense in this type of NFL right now.  It has become harder and harder to defend in this league especially when weather is not playing a factor (which it does not for our home games).  We have reached a crossroads and its time to chose which path to take.  I cast my vote for obtaining a 25 yr old WR in his prime and creating one of the most balanced & scary offenses in the NFL.  I'm sure there are good defensive players out there that you would like to take in the first round but how do you know?  You know what you are getting when you get Brandon Marshall, 100 receptions 3 yrs in a row!

I think that if this is even an option for Bill Parcells he absolutely has to consider this long and hard.  Do you try to scout and pick a defensive player in the draft OR do you trade for a WR that is only 25 yrs old who is physically more gifted than 99% than any WR in the NFL?

I also think we can get a good defensive player in the 2nd round.  We would no longer have our first and third round picks (i also don't know that they would have to trade their picks for this year or could it be a future draft?

Character Issues:  I want to address this since, it is, the weakest part of my argument.  He is 25 yrs old, he just saw Chris Henry die bc of the decisions that he had made and was making in his short life.  in fact he was quoted saying "I’d text him after a big game and say ‘Who made No. 15 look better today?"  "We’d go back and forth." "It’s devastating to lose him, especially him getting on the right track and being able to turn things around."

Check out this link / pic: http://broncotalk.net/2009/12/12963/broncos-news/marshall-pays-pregame-tribute-to-bengals-henry/

Finally, the guy is not going to throw away Millions of dollars when he is due a massive contract for the first time in his NFL Career!  Think about it, if someone told you that they were going to pay you 12 million dollars not to drink and drive for a year, not only would i make sure that i wouldn't drink and drive, i would start an Anti-Drunk Driving Club to make sure other people that i know also don't drink and drive (since i have never done this and hope you haven't either, how hard would this be?).  When you put that much money in front of someone and tell them its only theirs if they abide by the guidelines, they will do it and if you tell them there's more where that came from if they excel at what they are doing, they do that too.  Its sad but money is what is making the world go right now, if I was the best at what I did, I would perform that task in a manner to make the most money in a position where I was the most comfortable.

in closing, I think getting Brandon Marshall is a great move for 3 reasons:

1.) You know what your going to get from Brandon Marshall.  He is young and his past performances speak for themselves.

2.) Defense in the NFL this season was NOT the way teams won and has not been in recent years.  No D has been dominate for an extended period of time except the Jets.

3.) His Character issues will become a thing of the past because of 2 reasons:

  • He just lost a close friend by the name of Chris Henry
  • CREAM- Cash Rules Everything Around Me-.  Brandon Marshall wants to make has much money as he can during a short windowed NFL career when anything can happen at any time.  This guy won't screw up again, not when there is this much money on the line and what he has seen happen to NFL players like Vick, Burress and Henry this year.

Thanks for reading this for those of you that did.  this was my first year on the site and a disappointing season with a lot of close/tough loses. Go Colts!

The Phinsider Vincent Jackson v. Brandon Marshall

Whats up everybody, I hope you had a good weekend.  I think a few months back some people started talking about how good Vincent Jackson was and I just wanted to point out how wrong and overrated a player like this actually is.  He demonstrated some great poise yesterday (after he kicked a red challange flag and got his team a 15 yard playoff game) but people on this site always pump him up bc he has a "better head on his shoulders" than Brandon Marshall.  I know they scored on that drive but did you see the guy kick the flag?  Nice.  2nd point, the ball that Revis picked off... Vincent Jackson should have caught that ball and any elite and legit #1 WR would.  I think Vincent Jackson basically ate Antonio Gates scraps like he was a siegal at the beach eating a dead fish on the shore.  The guy is so overrated it a joke and I think yesterday proved it. So why don't you all just listen to me from now on?  The front office, you guys, etc.

Brandon Marshall or bust is what I have to say.   EVEN IF IT MEANS GIVING THEM OUR FIRST ROUND PICK!!!

The Phinsider Sam Bradford

I'm not saying I want this to happen but I am also not saying I don't want it to happen.  Looks like Sam Bradford has dropped in this years NFL draft compared to last.  Is there any chance the Dolphins would consider taking him?  I don't know if any of you guys watched him but I loved the way this guy threw the ball when he was healthy.  Hes got a complete cannon and he's so accurate its rediculous.  He prob lost out on a lot of money when he went back to school this year and ended up getting injured.  So, is there any chance at all that the Dolphins would take Sam Bradford?  I honestly think the guy has Super Star Potential.   I like Henne also but I just think Sam Bradford is more of a franchise QB; don't hate on the idea, im just thinking outloud.

BTW- I got banned from the Seahawks website because I wrote a post asking them if Julius Jones was actually paying the Seahawks to give him carries this year.  I told them they were pitiful for giving that guy the ball instead of Justin Forsett, just an FYI and a good laugh.  I went back and I was banned lol.

PS- I Love Brandon Marshall more than anything, I would have up our first round pick for 5 years as long as he plays for us for 5 years (just kidding), i think.

The Phinsider Brandon Marshall

Please go out and get Brandon Marshall.  All he wants is the money that he is deserving of.  We should give it to him, first, second, third round pick + the contract, whatever it takes because this guy is a top 3 WR in football and with a strong armed QB I could see him being that for another 3+ years.  Hes a freak, freakish in size, his YAC, and his desire to just hit somebody.  This is the #1 Wr.  Love Boldin too but hes more of a guy that comes acorss the middle like Bess, love the guy but I don't think hes a good fit.  So what are the chances we can get Brandon Marshall?  I will buy his jersey in all 3 colors if he comes here, hes one of my favorite players in the NFL.  If anyone responds with "we should get Vincent Jackson" i Honestly don't think you have watched football all year.

Field Gulls Justin Forsett

Hello everyone, I am posting about a terrific young player by the name of Justin Forsett that I wanted to gain some information on.  Did he not get many touches last week because of his slight injury or is Julius Jones seriously considered the starting running back?  I think its a shame that Seahawks Managemet would hault the development of a young player like Justin Forsett because he has really shown some great promise even when he's simply a spell Running Back.  If anyone has any information or predictions on the Jones/Forsett dilemma for the next week against the Texans it would be greatly apprecaited.  Hope all is well, thanks.

Revenge of the Birds Anquan Boldin

Hello everyone, I am fan of the Miami Dolphins but I will admitt I will watch the Cardinals any time they are on and I happen to have Kurt Warner and Boldin on my fantasy team this year.  I am here to ask everyoen about the status of Anquan Boldin, he is really a great player and I heard they he hurt is ankle late in the game on Sunday?  I read some reports but I figured I could get some better info from your community.  Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate any info.

The Phinsider Ted Ginn...

I never see anyone give a legit explanation on why ted ginn is not a good NFL player.  Thank you Teddy for making that catch on Monday night, it was a huge play and im glad that you were able to perform.  Going into the Monday night game i expected absolutely NOTHING from ted ginn, that way, when he actually does something it is simply an added bonus to my dolphins perception.  Here is why Ted Ginn is not a reliable NFL player: He catches the ball with his chest every single time the ball is coming his way.  This is what some would call "what not to do."  Ted Ginn never claimed to be a posession Wide Reciever but either way in some instances any WR in the NFL has to use his hands to make a grab.  How many of you thought he was going to catch the ball on Monday?  Henne literally had to drop it right into the area between his arms and chest and the ball still fluttered around in that area before he crossed the goal line.  The surprising thing to me is that people don't actually notice this / try to fix it.  His athletic career is completely based on his speed and football pedigree.  He needs to learn how to catch the ball with his hands.  How often do you see Randy Moss, Fitz, Boldin, Johnson or Marshall catch the ball with their chest when they could have caught the ball with their hands?  Never?  Maybe Ted Ginn has the speed and the dedication to being a good Wideout but i think its time for him to re-think his strategy, catch the ball with your hands not your chest.

Am I the only one that notices this?  Also, let me put it out there Ronnie Brown is a top 3 NFL Runningback if not top 2.

The Phinsider Jets obtain Braylon Edwards

ESPN this morning has a headline that has Braylon Edwards going to the Jets.  It does not say who they gave up to get him.  This is a typical move for the Jets, Edwards just punched a 130lb man in the face (Lebron's friend).  You guys think they Braylon Edwards can be the player he was 2 years ago?  Does this make them a lot better?  I am glad the Dolphins didn't trade for him, I honestly don't like Edwards at all.

Go Dolphins.

The Phinsider Dolphins / Fantasy Football Talk

Whats up guys, while the Dolphins may be 0-3 my fantasy team is 2-1 and looking strong.  I want to let it be know that we still have 2 games against fatso Rex Ryan and the Jets and if we can beat them its almost counts as 10 wins just because im so sick of hearing how good they are.  Imagine seeing Mark Sanchez against  a Ravens, Pitts or Giant Defense?  I think it would be catatrophic and I can't wait to see them lose.  We can beat them.  Anyway, after that small glimmer of hope I was wondering....

Do I start Brett Favre in his first game against the Packers on Monday Night Football at home in Minn?

Or do I start Kerry Collins against the Jaguars (who might have the worst D in football) in Jax?

Or Shaun Hill against the Rams?  wow, the Rams are bad.

I have Kurt Warner and he has a buy this week.  Any input or further suggests are appreciated.  FYI i have Ronnie Brown on my team and I think the Dolphins should consider giving him the ball 35 times a game let alone re-signing  him, he is an MVP and a complete freak, hes fast and has the ability to just carry people.   Also, looking ahead what do you think about Chad Henne in week 7 against New Orleans?

Stampede Blue Status of Anthony Gonzalez

Hey guys, I am a dolphin fan so obviously my football focus has turned towards my fantasy team and I happeed to lose ANthony Gonzalez week 1 to an unfortunate knee injury.  Does anyone have any recent info on a return timetable?  Any information would be greatly apprecaited.  It would be great to hear about Gonzalez looking to make his reutrn after the buy week, as long as it takes for him to get better and back is ok with me I just wanted to know how long.  Good luck the rest of the way with an actual Quarterback.

Thanks.

The Phinsider Lets Get Excited for tonight... Keys to Game

Is anyone else as sick and tired as I am of the defending AFC East Champs being absolutely disrespected to start off this season?   Tonight we have a home game on Monday Night Football.  If our team get get up and excited for this then there is something wrong with them.   This is the only thing getting me though my Monday, the same adrenaline that the team is feeling is keeping me awake (since I watched the entire G-Men game last night) and now I am at work EARLY.  This is THE Turning Point of our season.  Last year we might have had an easier schedule but we still beat some good / really good teams.  There is no reason for us to be afraid.

Here are my 5 Keys to the game:

1.) Ronnie Brown needs to touch the ball 20+ times.  A combination of Rushes, Receptions and Passes the number needs to be 20.  Ricky Williams needs to be a running back SPELL.  Not a 2nd part of the offense.  And if Ricky is coming in early then Ronnie Brown needs to stay in the game.  If the running game doesn't work early then throw the ball to him in the flats or a screen.

2.) Chad Pennington can turn the ball over a max of 1 time.  Anymore will put us in a bad spot.

3.) We need to hit Peyton Manning 6 times.  Similar to what you saw in the Jets / Pats game yesterday, Brady wasn't getting sacked but because he was seeing a pressure like he saw in his last super bowl he couldn't make the throws that he wanted to who he wanted to.  If we force Manning to make quick decisions than it will help out our secondary and our Defense overall.  They cannot be on the field as long as they were last week.

4.) We need our swagger back.  Instead of reacting to the game we need to make the Colts be the ones that are reacting to us.  The offense needs to take some chances and push the ball foward.  No turnovers and keep the D on their heels.  Same as I mentioned above, send the heat and make Manning make a quicker decsion than he would like.

5.) Shut down Reggie Wayne.  If Peyton Manning doesn't connect with Reggie Wayne for 100 Yards do you think they will win this game?  I would rather take my chances in seeing how Basket, Collie or Garcon react than dealing with Reggie Wayne.

Everyone enjoy their Mondays at work and best of luck later.  We need to show everyone that last year was far from a fluke and the Dolphins have the heart and desire to be a good team and a great team.

The Phinsider The Question Every Male is asking this football Season....

The 2009 NFL Football Season & Your Significant Other

With the smell of fall in the air and the constant dreams of Ronnie Brown stiff arming Vernon Gholston for a TD; it is becoming apparent that the Sunday of glory is right around the corner.  Football Sunday has been one of the most relaxing, self-indulging and rewarding experiences in the recent years.  My friends and I have the tradition of making a 12pm deli trip to gather up our breakfast sandwiches and Heroes for later in the day; the trip has to be made in a timely fashion so that we can get back in time to make sure there are no injured players to be replaced for our fantasy football teams.  Our laptops are charged so we can watch our fantasy teams perform.  The NFL pass for Direct TV is ordered.  Let the games begin.

Sounds like a dream right?  There is a stick in the spokes.   How many of us have a girlfriend that just doesn't appreciate football the way that the male race does?   When we spend our Sundays eating and sitting watching the most exciting sport ever created on our HDTVs they just don't accept it as a reason for us not to be with them on this Sunday.  Please use this post to help each other out in our constant struggles to keep our loved ones happy while simultaneously watching as much football as possible.  I can start us off with a few idea that have worked for me.

1.) Presents- I told her i would get her a present for every day I spend at my friends house with the NFL Package on Direct Tv.  Girls love presents and just the word will give you some room to spend time watchnig the games.  Even if they are small presents it shows that you care, wow that sounds really pathetic.

2.) My new idea for this year- this one is ballsy but treating your girl as if she is one of the guys.  Getting her a women's Ronnie Brown jersey and bringing her to your friends house so she can see what its all about.  Granted some of us are lucky enought have partners that love football to begin with but some of us are not as lucky.  This means we have to work.

Listen, I love my girl but I also love the Dolphins and football in general.  I love watching as much football as I can on Sunday and I don't like when she gives me a hard time for doing so.  Go Fish!!!  Thanks for your support and I hope we can all work together to help each other out.

The Phinsider Fantasy Football 2009 Outlook

This post is for people that are involved in serious Fantasy Football leagues to talk about their upcoming drafts.  I am in the 10 spot of a 12 team snake draft and hope to be able to get a big time WR in that position but fear they will all be gone after all the chatter on espn about targeting Wideouts early.  If anyone wants to chat, heres your chance...

Don't think I can have any Dolphins on my team becuase of the sheer agony I would experience if "things went wrong". haha.

The Phinsider Dolphins 2009 Outlook

Hey all, this is my first time posting, big Dolphin fan from Long Island, New York.  Got to see them win the title at the meadowlands the last game of the year last year and it was great!  Anyway, how many times do you think Ronnie Brown will touch the ball a game this year?  It seemed like last year as long as they got him touches he could perform but the key is making sure he can get his hands on the ball. If its wildcat, rb, qb, wr  how many times you think he could see the ball?  Also, do you think Devone Bess will play a major role in the offense along with the Tightends?  With Camarillo coming back I am wondering what type of plan they have going foward and i am Excited!

Hope to hear back from everyone, go dolphins.
